a Freudian slip, or fat fingers, or possibly both, meant I was typing in "slutrain" while looking for it on Yelp to check-in. simply put, this is a quick and easy way to get from the main part of the airport to the rental car area. there's a stop in between at the Georgia Convention Center too. from one end to the other it's maybe a 5 minute ride. it's also very clean and modern looking, and almost has a European mass transit feel to it (for those who have explored the public transit systems of Germany or Switzerland, for example). read more

This is poorly advertised, but the only way to survive the ATL airport. It gets you quickly between terminals and to baggage claim. Clean, fully automated. If you are at the airport, do not avoid using it. read more

I'm a huge fan of the Airtrain that runs at JFK airport in NY and this is (more or less) that...but at no cost. Not sure what, if anything, I could complain about. read more

First of all, there are are only a few airports that I have been to in the country that are big enough to have their own train, Ohare, JFK and Atlanta. I don't even think that LAX is big enough for this puppy. What a massive airport. I first rode this train in transit to catch my hold over plane to the Bahamas with my fiance' Lisa and I have to say that both of us were pretty impressed. It's pretty nice. March, 2014 - The Atlanta airport is very difficult to drive into because there is surface construction everywhere. Once you do get to the rental car return, the sky train is handy to the airport in one direction and the Marriott in the other. It's great to walk to the sky train in the morning from your hotel and arrive at the terminals. They run every couple of minutes 24/7. Perfect for way early morning flights. Don't be confused by the announcements on the sky train - the terminology chosen to explain stops is not clear. One stop is the GICC which is not explained. Turns out it is the Georgia International Convention Center. People on my train missed that stop not knowing what GICC meant. The next stop is the Airport "Center" - seems like "Terminals" might have bee a better choice. The whole airport is a rather discombobulated mish mash of buildings above ground and a maze of trains below ground. Give yourself a lot of lead time.. read more
