The electronic signage and even the MARTA app in the College Park station were not that great in providing info on arriving northbound trains. One showed up within 10 minutes, though. The info seemed better in the other station I used. There did seem to be a visible police presence around the College Park station, which is probably a good thing. They could use more cops near Peachtree Center station.

Looking at the official train map/route, it gives you a multitude of options in terms of getting around the city of Atlanta and beyond. I arrived at the ATL airport and found it very pleasant that I could purchase a pass before exiting the airport and even board the train to my final destination. MARTA has various prices for one way, round trip, and multi day pass. I paid around 23 dollars for a unlimited seven day pass and it was totally worth it! Yes, you may hear that it is outdated and possibly dangerous, but what city does not have a cringe worthy rail system experience. From my experience, I did not run into any issues, even after 10 at night and very early in the morning. If you can figure out the routes and lines, you can pretty much get anywhere in the city in 30 minutes or less. In conclusion, I would gladly ride the MARTA the next time I am in Atlanta as it is quite simple, affordable, and much better than walking and or taking a taxi/uber.

They are chronically late, there are not enough workers to operate the busses or trains, and their customer service is atrocious. if you lose something, do not expect the marta police or Marta customer service to help you. They may acknowledge you, or they may blow off your inquiry. If you call Marta don't be surprised if they never call you back, if you send an email, do not be surprised if the email is ignored. If the system overcharges you, don't be surprised if you never get your money back. I have lived in Atlanta my entire life, and candidly, Marta's human resources just gets worse every year. They may come out with a new train, and new gates, and new systems, but don't expect it to be perfect. Also, if something goes wrong don't expect the supervisors to assist you. Atlanta also has a homeless problem. So, if you visit, don't be surprised if you see various homeless people taking up space, begging for money, and trashing the bus or trains with food or empty containers. Marta has policies against this, but no one cares to enforce it. Finally, if a route is changed due to Atlanta streets being blocked off, inclement weather (snow, hurricanes, etc), or anything else, Do NOT expect Marta to communicate that to you (the paying customer/consumers). A few years ago when it was snowing, a bus dropped people off at a random spot and made people fend for themselves after they had paid (as opposed to having clear communication with its customers hours beforehand). This is a terrible business. If you can get another way around town, do not choose to rely on Marta.

So first issue was dividing the party into two, which was disappointing for everyone. After getting several updates on arrival time for second bus, and not showing up when said, the 2nd bus was an HOUR late. Both buses arrived in HORRIBLE, ratty conditions (inside and out). The 2nd bus began having mechanical issues before they even left the neighborhood! (I'm sure this is why he was late because he knew there were issues and was driving slow to our house but didn't tell us). After breaking down in the neighborhood, he kept driving but drove 30 miles per hour until it fully broke down on the side of the highway. The driver left them on the side of the road. The party on the 2nd bus missed over half the venue time that we were already an hour late for. Half of them took an uber and the other half waited for the first bus to come get them. They didn't have a an extra bus or a large enough bus to take us all home, so some of the party ubered home. My husband spent most of the night on the phone trying to make sure we had a ride home and coordinate things with them. I could go into many more details, but the matter is the company was disorganized, had horribly maintained vehicles, and was not upfront about issues on the second bus. I've asked for a refund, but they are not returning my calls. I wanted to pay for a fun party bus for my friends for my 40th and instead some of my friends were left on the side of the road and had to order ubers. Thankfully everyone is safe, but please save yourself the headache and book elsewhere. You'll likely be canceled on (read yelp reviews, I wish I had) or they'll show up an hour late with a trashed bus that breaks down on the side of the highway. Thank you.

This is an embarrassment and total lack of customer service, especially for a guest that is Marriott Ambassador Status. Front desk staff is courteous and professional. Room is very clean, with television, microwave and fridge. Pool is seasonal. There is a gym that is well equipped, towels available, and water cooler. Next to the gym is a laundry room for guest use. And the breakfast, omelettes, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, and so much more. Only drawback: room was not cleaned during the stay and there were no clean towels. Not even at the front desk. Other than that, stay was fantastic. I still do highly recommend this location.
