I was shocked to hear that I could no longer see my primary care doctor, Dr. Frances Long, unless I…read moresigned up for their new concierge services for thousands of dollars! I thought it was optional but my doctor actually would not see me unless I signed up for that mess. Whose idea was this 'concierge' service and is anyone actually paying all that money for things a doctor should be doing anyway?? I'm amazed that a practice that should be focused on patients are focused on making even more money by actually taking thousands from their patients. It's unbelievable, sad and just greedy. Dr. Long was an average doctor and the nerve of her to want me to pay more just to get my annual physical (BASIC healthcare). Shame on her and Piedmont for thinking this is a good idea. I'm proud to say that I'm now with Northside so good riddance to Ms. Long and Peidmont.

I just received a certified letter in the mail firing me as a client, stating that "we are no…read morelonger willing to be your primary care providers". This was in response to my request, ONE TIME, to speak to a manager about a gross mishandling of a single appointment. I waited patiently for MONTHS to get an appointment for a routine physical (pretty standard that you have to wait so long...), the appointment was cancelled without my knowledge by PIM because the doctor I was scheduled to see left the practice (wisely, it would seem), they refused to allow me to see any of their other TWELVE doctors for at least FIVE MONTHS after the appointment THEY messed up, and were not concerned at all about my medical needs. I own a hospital myself and have also had to fire a few clients for racism, aggressive/threatening behavior, illegal activities, and other egregious troubles, but never once have I asked any of them to leave because of a single isolated complaint about difficulty scheduling an appointment. The scheduling/management team clearly does not value the relationships between the patients and the doctors and seems to be in a current state of active sabotage. It has become clear to me why not only my doctor left this horrible practice, but multiple other doctors have left as well. I truly hope that those that left have found a better home in a more compassionate, caring, and professional environment. Well, off to find my new PCP, and this practice will not be missed.

For the last week- my pharmacy and I have been trying to contact the office to get a prescription refill (Nexium- which I have been taking for almost 30 years). My pharmacy, Express Scripts, contacted them over a week ago and I have submitted prescription refill requests online at least 3 times. I finally called and left a message (because there is no way to talk to anyone) inquiring as to why my prescription has not been refilled. I finally received a call stating that they were rejecting my refill request because I needed to come in for an office visit in order to get it refilled. They kept rejecting the request but did not have the decency to contact me to let me know. I mentioned that there is still currently a pandemic and since this is a standard medicine, why can't they just refill? It has been just over 1 year since my last visit (and a pandemic is still very active) but they insist I come into the office. No offer for tele-medicine, no offer to extend the prescription until the pandemic is more under control. In the meantime, I am running out of medicine and left to scramble to find a new doctor.
