I have been seeing Dr. Varner for about 2 years now and I never hesitate to recommend her to friends and family. She is personable, warm, and down to earth. Finding a new doctor can be a pain and I did a lot of research before seeing Dr. Varner. So far, I have only been for basic preventative care but even with basic care you can tell when your doctor doesn't care or isn't listening. I never get this vibe from Dr. Varner. The office staff here are professional and efficient, too. The parking deck is a bit archaic and they only take cash or check, which nobody really carries anymore, but the lobby of this office building does have an ATM. You will have to pay for parking as they do not validate. Also, make sure you are on time, if not early for your appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late... better luck next time! read more

I stumbled across Dr. Varner's office, Inman Park Physicians, after a hair cut a few weeks ago. I've been looking for a new doctor, so I decided to give it a whirl. Let me tell you, I'm sure glad I did. From the time I called to make the appointment all the way through check out, it was the best experience I've had in years. Even though I was a new patient looking to get a physical, they were able to fit me in VERY quickly - no two month wait here. The office staff was helpful with scheduling at a convenient time for me to be away from work. Parking is a breeze in the new development along Highland, too. Dr. Varner and her assistant Jermaine are AWESOME! I simply cannot say enough good things. Jermaine was funny and relaxing when I was nervous about having blood drawn. Dr. Varner took the time to talk to me and go over my medical history thoroughly before the exam ever began, she was gentle and thoughtful during, and afterwards we actually sat down in her office to go over everything. To my absolute shock, she personally called me twice in the following week to discuss my test results and follow up plan. A later issue (I lost a prescription) resulted in a super quick and personal response from Jermaine. If you're looking for a knowledgeable physician with which to actually have a relationship, I would highly recommend Dr. Varner! read more

Very punctual for appt time, lobby area and check in - everyone v friendly, her nursing staff was wonderful- as a new patient I had many questions - all answered with no annoyance- the whole practice was wonderful!! This review will be really simple: If you need a new Doctor, Dr. Varner should be your first stop. You won't need to go anywhere else. In full disclosure, I never got in to see Dr. Varner. The process of setting up the appointment was so annoying that I ended up just canceling the appointment. I would suggest some customer service classes for the people that answer the phone, specifically, some listening exercises. I had to repeat myself at least 3 times on everything that I was asked. One answer I had to say the same thing 6 times! Lord knows how annoying that would be if I had to rely on them to set up follow up visits, prescriptions or any of the other services we rely on the front office. I would not recommend Dr. Varner or this practice to anyone. I initially saw her after my husband suggested PCPATL as he visits Dr. Samuel Adams, and was not too impressed. Her Office staff /assistant was very very very rude and does not care about the patients and acted like they hated working there and doing their job. They would not return the call untill they receive few voice mails on the same issue. I had an appointment for a physical with Dr. Varner for my first visit. After having blood work done, I had to wait for about 10 days to get a call informing the results. They would not do a postal mail of the blood work results to you unless you send a self addressed postage paid envelope to her. Either they will tell you the numbers or fax it to you .... but sorry.... no mailing....They care more about their 44 cents postal fee. People would be nuts to go this doctor.. NEVER AGAIN... read more

Dr. Varner, her assistant Cheryl, and even the people who answer the phones are wonderful. You can tell that they really care about what is best for their patients and they go out of their way to make sure that you get the care that you need. Never go see Amy if you are on Medicare. I have seen her for over 10 years. Recently I tried to get an appt with her for my yearly physical. When making the appt, was told I could see her soon. Then, I was asked if I was on Medicare. When I said yes, I was told it would be at least 3 months later before I could see her. I made the appt. When I went to see her, I asked about the new policy on Medicare patients. She said it was her new policy, not to see many Medicare patients. She also stated that we had too many issues, took up too much of her time, and cost her too much money. I finished my yearly physical, four months late, and will never go back to see her. I first started seeing her, when she was a new physician, and needed patients. Shame on you, Amy, and I am ashamed of you. So would your mother be, as well. As my mother always said, you have outgrown yourself, however, mine said raising! read more

I am sad that Dr. Varner no longer works here - she was a wonderful Dr. who always took to the time to go over any concerns I had. However, I have seen Dr. Shroff - the new Dr. He came across a little awkward at first but I was very pleased with the care I received. I went in because I was experiencing a severe headache like I had never had before - which might be why he came off as awkward - because I was in pain! He spent a good bit of time with me and sent me home with meds and a dr's note. A couple of days later I called back to tell him my headache had not gone away - he immediately asked that I go to the ER because they have medications they can give via IV that he couldn't give in his office - he called the ER to let them know I was coming, asked that they perform a CT scan and even called me the following day to see how I was doing! I was very appreciative of that call. His office even set an appointment for me with a neurologist! Granted, Dr. Shroff is not Dr. Varner and their approaches are very different - but both are excellent Drs. in their own right. I will definitely be back to see Dr. Shroff. read more

Dr Varner is wonderful! I stumbled across her in Inman Park too, and have followed her out to the Perimeter. She helped me get all the vaccinations I needed for international travel...she went way above and beyond the call of duty to help me. I will be her patient as long as I can! read more

Dr Varner was ok at first. He staff was very unprofessional and despite knowing that my blood test were not where they needed to be, she simply threw medication at me as supposed to really trying to help me get better. I would not recommend this Dr. You would have better luck with a minute clinic! They would take more time with you! read more

I would not recommend Dr. Varner or this practice to anyone. I initially saw her after a highly recommended referral from a friend, and was not too impressed. The staff was very rude and acted like they hated working there and doing their job. My first contact with the staff was a nurse that was filling in for Dr. Varner's nurse and after she called my name she said, "Get on the scales!" Not "please", "hello" or even "welcome." My pharmacist, who also uses this practice, commented to me that the office staff was so rude. I had an appointment for a physical with Dr. Varner for my second visit. I had to fast and hire a babysitter to keep my child. I got lost trying to get to the appointment which was at 7:45 a.m. (It is very easy to get turned around in this medical complex area near Northside because of all the medical buildings and parking garages.) I called the office to get directions, and the after hours operator answered and told me that I would have to wait until 8:00 a.m. to call. I called at 8:00 a.m. and explained the situation. The office assistant informed me that Dr. Varner would not see me because I was late. She offered to reschedule my appointment to which I replied, "No thank you. I'll find a new doctor." We spend hours of our lives waiting on doctors, and honestly I do not think that I need a doctor who could not evaluate personal circumstances and adjust her "rules." At the very least they could have let me attend the visit and complete my blood work. If you choose this practice, go at your own risk! read more
