FIVE STARS -- BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL HOSPITAL, GREAT FALLS, MONTANA!…read more This isn't law enforcement related, but those of you who follow 406 Back the Blue know how much I love animals, especially rescues! And if you live anywhere in Great Falls or the surrounding communities, I have a veterinary recommendation you absolutely need to hear about! First, LISA BAKER! What an absolute blessing this woman is! I recently joined a Montana guinea pig group, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lisa, her knowledge, her patience, and her extraordinary bedside manner. The entire staff deserves recognition! Today, I dropped off my beloved guinea pig, Mr. Bingley, before heading to work. He had developed lumps beneath his chin, which turned out to be infected lymph nodes caused by streptococcal bacteria, a condition called strangles. Both glands are affected, and he will need surgery to remove them. From the moment I dropped him off until I picked him up after work, the entire staff was phenomenal! They kept me informed throughout the testing, called with updates, patiently explained his diagnosis and prognosis, and walked me through the surgery and associated costs. Nobody rushed me, nobody made me feel like just another appointment, and they genuinely CARE about the animals entrusted to them. And can we talk about affordability for a moment? Anyone who has ever taken a sick animal to the veterinarian knows that sometimes the bill makes you wonder whether you should have brought your checkbook, your retirement account, and the deed to your house! As a single mom, I cannot begin to express what a relief it was to receive such a reasonable estimate for surgery, anesthesia, and everything involved. I didn't feel like I had to choose between getting my beloved little guinea pig the medical care he needs and putting food on the table for my daughter. That matters tremendously to me. Compassionate veterinary care shouldn't require selling a kidney on the black market! And for my fellow exotic-pet parents, finding a veterinarian who treats guinea pigs in the Great Falls area is incredibly difficult. Praise God, this wonderful hospital is practically down the street from me! NOW, LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE CATS! They also have some absolutely ADORABLE cats available for adoption! Every single one I saw was precious, but there were two beautiful grayish-colored kitties who completely stole my heart. I believe they might be siblings, and they were just the sweetest little things! Oh, how I wished I owned a home! I would have scooped up those two in a heartbeat. Actually, who am I kidding? I probably would have taken every cat in the building! Someone PLEASE go meet these beautiful babies before I start looking for a house with an extra bedroom just for cats! Seriously, if you're considering adding a feline family member, stop by and meet these sweethearts. You might just find your new best friend! Lisa Baker and the entire team at Best Friends Animal Hospital have earned my trust, my gratitude, and my enthusiastic FIVE-STAR recommendation! Whether your furry family member barks, meows, squeaks, or purrs, this is a team that treats animals with genuine compassion, takes the time to educate their humans, and respects the financial realities of caring for the pets we love. Best Friends Animal Hospital 1520 9th Street South Great Falls, Montana (406) 453-2200 https://bestfriendsvets.com/ Thank you, Lisa, and everyone at Best Friends, for treating Mr. Bingley like the treasured little family member he is. His surgery is scheduled for October 21, and I am so grateful he's in such capable hands! FIVE STARS! I would give them TEN if I could!

First, a warning... Do NOT rely on this place to provide the proper care for your friends/pets…read more. You've been warned.. So when you're trying to get an appointment for a sick or injured pet, you'll end up going to a different veterinarian. The ppl at the front desk are rude, and a few are very incompetent. Also, this has become Best Friends reputation around town. Not just me.. Even other vets are talking about "the change" at best friends. I can only hope this warning saves you from dealing with this place. Now, the history.. I started going to DR Norton while he was still dating his assistant (now wife) prior to 2013. At that time, they were expensive, but the care IMO was worth the extra money. (You get what you pay for) This was while they were located by the refinery/that side of town. Then, they moved to their current location.. It slowly became more difficult to get seen, and Dr Norton was always busy.. Over time, it was clear it's all about $.. Schedule as many patients and push them through as fast as possible.. I still decided to go there, as I figured they'd get things figured out eventually.. Fast forward to now... "Best friends" is now owned by a private equity group. While it's common that the previous owner/vet stays on staff, (Norton) he no longer has a vested interest in the business's success. It's a job.. To the private equity group that now owns Best Friends, it's a money machine. They don't care about your pet, only how much money can be sucked from ppls wallets. That said, I'm certain theres a few good ppl and veterinarians that are/have worked there.. They seem to go through veterinarians pretty fast though.. Usually someone different at every appointment. So I would be interested in talking to one thats cycled through to get the behind the scenes scoop on why the clinic turned into a failure. (By care standards) they probably make plenty of $ now. So, a success to the private equity group who gets it. Maybe? If you choose to ignore my warnings, read the other reviews. Plenty out there.. I'm just trying to save you the stress and your pet the discomfort. If you still choose them, give it time.. You'll see i was right and have your own regrets.

Have needed help for a couple of different issues for our dog when we travel to the Great Falls…read morearea. We have very high standards of service for our pet based on the great job our vet does at home. We are very happy and impressed with Big Sky Animal Center. They got us in on a timely basis. The people at the reception desk meet you with a smile and checked us in quickly. They were sensitive to the number of dogs in the waiting area so were nice enough to put us over in another part of their waiting area that was less crowded. Our appointment started on time even with them being fairly busy. The vet tech came out and greeted us with a smile and led us back to an examination room. She was very professional, good job asking questions and good with our dog. The doctor then came in with no wait in the transition between the tech and her. I can't say enough about how much we like Dr Michelle Richardson at the clinic. Really good with our dog, asked great questions, diagnosed the issue and we left with a solution in hand. Our dog within 12 hours was noticeably better and on the road to complete recover. Highly recommend this clinic, you will be in good hands.

I was left on hold for so long that their system disconnected me 3 separate times. They would not give a straight answer as to if my pet even needed to be seen or could be observed at home. I was visiting from out of town and was traveling with my cat who really needed to go to the vet…read more(bad urinary tract infection I could tell from past experience), and unlike another place who said they could see me in 3 days (uh, he isn't going to the bathroom and he is acting very sick, that isn't going to work) I found this place who said just to bring him in and they would make it work. So he was there with them all day and when I called and to check on him , the vet came to the phone herself, not just the tech. All day there, fluids, blood panels, antibiotics, the whole deal and the pricing was really fair I am happy to report! Plus the front desk women is super nice and helpful as was the tech, so if I didn't live 12hrs away I would have kept them as a regular!

Despite expressing these genuine concerns, the explanations provided felt very dismissive, and I was left with the impression that my observations about my pet's condition was not taken seriously. Adding to my disappointment was the unexpected bill for urgent care I received. I had asked for the soonest appointment availability, and after being told a same day slot had opened up after somebody had canceled their appointment, I proceeded with bringing my pet in. To my surprise, I was later charged with an urgent care fee, which was never discussed or agreed upon prior to the visit. This unexpected charge felt unfair, especially given the circumstances of how the appointment came to be. While I understand that veterinary practices can be busy, the lack of empathy and communication has led me to reconsider my choice of veterinary care. Unfortunately, I cannot confidently recommend their services to others.

It is so hard to find a Vet who is…read moretrusting and takes initiative in their patients and customers and I finally found the place. Ive had so many rough experiences with veterinarian offices in the past, so i've staggered cautiously and carefully. Two Rivers eases all my trust issues - They take the time to explain everything to you, and I mean the TIME. In the past with other clinics- i've left visits super confused almost like I didn't absorb any of the information. Here, they go over options, talk over multiple scenarios and sources. Doctors here are super knowledgeable and resourceful and really nice and respectful! Nurses are gentle and patient, i'm just so pleased. Costs are super efficient as well as procedures. We have about 4 barn cats, 2 dogs and we were coming here almost every other week in October / November because either one had ear mites or the next cut their dew claw (doc saved me a 400$ dollar bill just sticking it up that afternoon w / o anesthesia cause my pup was willing) ... No matter what it was, they took care of it ASAP & w TLC. We love that!!!! Thank you Two Rivers for everything! We love you

I had a terrible experience with Dr Petersen at Two Rivers. Do not go there. It is a long story,…read morebut in short, I inherited my mom's 12 year old dog and took him in for a check up. Dr Petersen told me he had a heart murmur with only 1-3 months to live and to bring him back in January and he would put him down. I was devastated. Her dog became ill in early January so I thought "this is it" and took him in. Dr Petersen said "If you get the flu do you get out a gun and put it to your head?" "Death is permanent". He then wanted to run a bunch of diagnostics as to why the dog was ill. I declined the diagnostics and left in tears. HE told me to bring him in. I did not want to put him down! I called later to schedule my other dog and they told me I am no longer able to do any pet care there. I was shocked! Embarrassed! They totally judged me - and are out of line. Dr Petersen was heartless and rude. My mom's dog passed away last night from congestive heart failure with the kind support from Big Sky Animal Medical Center. GO THERE!

When I brought my 9 year old Cocker Spaniel "Coco" to K-Heart vet, I explained that recently a fox…read morehad been in our yard killing chickens. That fox was covered in mange. So, when Coco began scratching, losing hair, and developing dark crusty spots by her ear, I suspected she had caught mange from the fox. Dr. Manzer evaluated my dog and didn't think it was mange. She did a skin scrape from one spot on Coco's ear, but explained that there were other possibilities for Coco's symptoms and because Coco is geriatric, Dr. Manzer wanted to do blood work to rule out other issues. When the results were in from Coco's blood work, Dr. Manzer called me in the evening after studying, what she said was a very difficult case. There was indication that something was wrong with Coco's kidneys, but Dr. Manzer couldn't identify anything specific. She recommended changing her diet, suggesting that Coco might be allergic to what we had been feeding her. My heart broke, thinking that Coco had some strange health problem. What I assumed was mange, Dr. Manzer suggested was far worse. She told me to call back if I wanted to give Coco medication which would ease the itching. We let Coco back in the house, now that we weren't afraid to touch her. We changed her diet and started treating her like the old dog she suddenly appeared to be. But, as her symptoms worsened, she began losing hair in remarkable quantities. She had no appetite and was losing weight. I started reading about kidney problems and diseases associated with dogs, but nothing made sense. A couple weeks later, we decided to get a second opinion and brought Coco to Best Friends Animal Hospital, where they did multiple skin scrapes only to discover Sarcoptic Mange. However, because of the excessive scratching, Coco now had a secondary skin infection too. What was worse, they explained Sarcoptic Mange is transmittable to humans and because I am 8 months pregnant and have other small children, they recommended discussing it with our doctors. Plus, our entire house needed to be sterilized. Best Friends Animal Hospital explained that the Sarcoptic Mange Mite is often difficult to find. Which is why Dr. Manzer didn't discover it with only one scraping. However, Best Friends said that when a dog has all the symptoms of mange, even if they don't find the mite, which has a very low percentage rate of being discovered, since it is deep in the skin, they treat the dog for mange based on the symptoms. It was shortly after visiting Best Friends, that my family began developing bumps and itching everywhere. We are all suffering because of the ineptitude of Dr. Manzer. She spent plenty of time reading about the oddities in Coco's blood work, looking for a needle in a hay stack, while ignoring the obvious. I trusted her. Certainly, I don't think she was malevolent. She obviously really didn't know what was wrong with my dog. She probably won't know what is wrong with yours either. Even if you tell her.

I would give them no stars if I could…read more Our second visit to the GF store was a huge disappointment. We booked a different groomer this time, and right away she refused to groom my 50 lb shepherd mix--first because of shedding (which is exactly why we made the appointment), then claiming my 11-year-old dog was "too old." When I asked for a better explanation, the manager backed her up instead of addressing the issue. Meanwhile, my dachshund had already been taken back. When I picked her up--after paying a high price--it didn't look like she'd been properly bathed. She still had visible dander, smelled like she'd just been sprayed, and her feet weren't cleaned. It's hard to believe she received the full service. Before leaving, I saw my shepherd mix in the grooming area, calmly being combed on the table. Later, the manager told me she was "too difficult" and wouldn't allow grooming--even though she hadn't even been bathed. That didn't match what I witnessed. Between the poor service, lack of honesty, and overall treatment, I won't be returning. I'll be taking this complaint to upper management. I wouldn't trust this store or that groomer with my dogs.

We purchased some items from the store and the cashier was efficient and helpful. So give them a chance!
