To start, the lovely lady at reception was welcoming, kind and the perfect introduction to the office! The office itself has lots of games, video games and toys in the waiting area to keep kids of all ages entertained while they wait, as well as TVs with movies and shows for kids going. When we went back, right when our appointment was scheduled to start, our hygienist, who I think was named Abbie (so sorry if I got the wrong name!) was so nice and put my toddler at ease so quickly! I was nervous that her first appointment would be rough because it's a new experience and she can be very shy with people, but Abbie engaged her so well! Our dentist, Dr. Amanda was also amazing with her! She explained options for tooth paste and gave good advice about when/how to change it up as my daughter grows. I'm so very thrilled we will be bringing my daughter here! As someone who grew up with very stressful dental experiences, it's such a weight off my shoulders to know that my daughter has Smile Station!

The dental assistants and hygienists were talking loudly across the room about their personal lives--so loudly that I could hear full conversations while my child was being treated. It was distracting, uncomfortable, and honestly made it hard to trust that they were fully focused on their patients. On top of that, the whole place gave off a very money-driven vibe. It felt like every recommendation came with an upsell, and there wasn't much effort to explain what was actually necessary versus optional. But the biggest issue by far was the staff's behavior andh constant chatter, laughing, and yelling back and forth made the office feel chaotic and obnoxious instead of calm and child-friendly. I expected a more professional and attentive environment, especially for a pediatric setting.

For the past few cleaning appointments, my older kid have been complaining about how painful it is for the cleaning. In the mean time, my younger kid has never had any complain with the asian assistance. I have been given the staff the benefit of doubt since I know my kid isn't doing good job of brushing, could just have sensitive gum. After two of those visits, I started to pay more attention to the assistance. She seems very serious every time we see her. My explanation for her is that she might just be tired since we always have late afternoon time. In the mean time, I told my boy to do better brush and floss before next visit so I can be sure that he wasn't the issue. The last visit, my younger kid had the Caucasian and older boy had the Asian. I was with my younger kid first. In the middle of cleaning, my younger kid asked the Caucasian, "Can you please be gentler?", She responded "I can't, I have to get the cleaning done!" . I was still on her side at this point with a little shock on her response. The dentist confirmed the my younger one had a little swollen gums. Then dentist and I went to see my older one. Not surprise that my older kid has the same issue. The surprise was so he does not complain about the process. He confirmed later with me that the Asian assistance was tender and merciful. The final feedback from my kids are they would rather to break up the time to wait for Asian assistance to do cleaning for both!

I'm now glad how things ended up working out. On our first visit to the clinic, Dr. Pete sat with us before he examined our daughters to not only talk over their dental history, but also have a conversation about better prevention of future issues. I've never had a dentist--either for our children, or myself personally--put that kind of time and effort into a new patient. From there. Dr. Pete and his staff had a fantastic rapport with our children, and it was easy to tell they were more relaxed at this clinic than the previous one they'd been to. The bamboo toothbrushes our daughters got are great, as was the assurance that, should any dental emergencies ever crop up, we were encouraged to get in touch with Dr. Pete at any time of day. My only hesitation is that this is one of those kinds of clinics where you hope it'll stay as a smaller practice and not lose the personal attention that children currently receive. Still, I'd definitely recommend Good Life Smiles to other parents, even if doing so works against that hope.

Some dentists push people into them and harvest them with aggressive tactics. She invests in what matters- the kids! She did some work on my child who suffered with early childhood cavities. She focuses on prevention ,as well as treatments. She gave him some great stainless steel crowns that served their purpose well. They lasted until his baby teeth fell out. She also added sealants onto other teeth to prevent the cavities from spreading. She has a gentle, patient way with kids. I trust her 100% and bring my other child there now. Let me also say , she gives her mobile number out on her message machine for any kids who have an emergency. Lourdes dedicates her life to her patients. Let that be said! She will come running.

I had gone in for a procedure that probably would be easy for most people. Unfortunately with heart problems, they will not allow me anything with epinephrine in it. Any dentist that I have ever been seen by never has had anything else other than meds I cannot have. The dentist eased all my anxiety, carefully listening to my history and letting me know, she knew what I needed and how to do it safely. OMG what a relief, I have gone 10 years always being told you need to be in a hospital setting. Its too risky for me to see you as a patient. I burst into tears honestly. I thought that would be my "forever situation." Fortunately, they helped me through the proceedure. Offering me something I could take pre-procedure to numb the area without inhibiting my breathing or raising my heart rate. I soooo very much appreciate them. Words cannot even express my gratitude for the dentist. They truly care about helping their patients.

My husband retired from the military after 30 years of service and we moved back to Omaha to be…read morecloser to our family. We chose Total Dental because our insurance took it and it was close to our house without looking at the reviews. I went there for my first 2 regular cleanings. I go regularly every 6 months. They told my husband he should go every 3 months (he went even though he had to pay out of pocket for one of the cleanings every year). I had extreme pain in my front tooth because of a possible injury when I was younger. I saw Dr. Thorson, who is absolutely wonderful!! She saw me right away and referred me to an Endodontics practice. The practice that accepted my insurance couldn't get me in for over a month. Dr. Thorson stated to me in front of the dental hygienist that "if I ran out of antibiotics before I got into to see the Midwest Endodontics that all I needed to do is call her up and she would prescribe some more to get me through until I could see them for the root canal." Unfortunately, she went on maternity leave (which I totally understand) BUT the office manager (Danica Wicht) had no back up plan for her. When, I called some dental hygienist that I had absolutely no prior dental relationship with called me and stated to me "that they don't do that". She also kept saying "she wasn't in the room with me" I told her I knew that she wasn't in the room with me. I kindly asked her if she had my chart to look at and she said no. I was very shocked that a medical professional that hadn't been in the room with me (her own words) wouldn't have the chart to rely on. She never asked me my pain level either. Not one time during our phone conversation. Very disturbing as when you look at Total Dental's website they describe themselves as dental anxiety experts with over 40 years of experience. I asked to speak to an office manager and Dr. Courtney Molettiere got on. This woman needs to never me in medicine or dental care. Her bio reads "One of my favorite things about my profession is the chance to build relationships with patients" She is not an experienced Dentists. Read her bio and prior reviews about her. Highly do NOT recommend her. Very immature and never even read my chart before talking to me. You can see from other reviews, that other patients have said that EXACT same thing that I'm saying about Dr. Molettietiere. She was rude, unprofessional, never looked at my chart. Also found out later from the Practice Manager, that she shared information with 3 other people in her office (that was not necessary) and a complete violation of HIPPA. My medical information should only be shared on a need-to-know basis. They should realize that. In addition, I paid out of pocket for X-rays and was not even notified of the costs upfront. This practice has very inexperienced Dentists. I've gone to Dentists across the country my entire life AND never experienced the unprofessionalism of this office including the practice manager who called me from her cell phone in car and didn't even have my chart or information to know what she was referring to. The only thing she could say is she knew everyone in the "Office for 10 years" This should be handled using actual facts like a business NOT a like a friendship. In short, you have TONS of options in Elkhorn. I found another Dental practice within a few hours for my husband and me that honored both our military service and was kind and friendly, verified my insured, gave me upfront costs. Read their website of what they promise and then read the many reviews of patients that have actually visited this horrible dental clinic specifically the Elkhorn, Nebraska clinic. Highly DO NOT recommend this horrible practice!
