In-house cheesecake this place is amazing.

My wife and I have eaten here twice. Our server is amazing. His name is Sydney. I would highly recommend asking for him. That young man who brought our food is Braden the food is outstanding, but the carrier is delivered is amazing. Please come here as much as possible. Thank you.

i was in town out Lynchburg for work and stayed at The Virginian. knowing i needed to decide on dinner, but didn't feel like going far, i decided to make my way to the rooftop restaurant. The Skyline. i will start off with the view was pretty cool. i love a little rooftop vibe. i will start by saying the service started off a little rocky. i was handed a menu and left to fend for myself , meaning .... the server literally didn't come back to ask if i needed anything (i was also sitting at the bar), but i did let her know when i was ready to order. now, they do not have a happy hour here which kind of sucks bc i believe the steakhouse at the bottom of the hotel does. doesn't make much sense . i got something equivalent of a spicy margarita and it was delicious. i also ordered to crab cake appetizers and the mac & cheese , BOTH delicious. the crab cakes were a little small, but that was to be expected . but they also give you a generous portion of the mac & cheese. i will say overall i had a pretty good experience here, and if im ever back in town and staying at this hotel .... i would go back

This is a rooftop bar with an excellent menu.

I ate here two nights in a row and I gotta tell you the second night was even better than the first. The ambience is trendy and new, but still comfortable. It's a great rooftop establishment on top of the Virginia hotel. The hotel itself is gorgeous amazing and staffed by very friendly people. I was here for a tradeshow and enjoyed the ambience and the architecture. My favorite dish on the whole menu was the pimento and cheese grits topped with undo sausage and shrimp, think of it as jambalaya over cheese grits. The next night I ordered the pork ribeye, but I asked the chef to put some of the cheese grits on my plate. If you look at the pictures, you will notice that he did more than just put some of it on my plate, he made it my whole plate. It was amazing. I've got to make this when I get home. It is a absolute wonderful dish. The crispy fried pork belly is also outstanding as were the scallops wrapped in bacon. The chef is a Cajun. He knows what he's doing. The rooms in this hotel are spacious, the bedroom is about half again as large as your typical hotel room, the bathroom and the powder room are separated by door, and the bathroom is very well appointed with a beautiful standup shower. I mean you can't ask for a better hotel restaurant combination it's a gorgeous place.

Mahi-Mahi on a bed of blackened corn relish and greens

The staff was warm and my server BG was very attentive and helpful with any questions I had. I went on a Thursday evening, it was quiet and peaceful with dim lighting, totally a vibe for a date or solo date. The seared tuna appetizer was tasty, but I am a sashimi lover so I didn't mind that it didn't have the most flavor. It was a delicate start leading into a flavorful entree. The Mahi-Mahi had amazing flavor and I was pleasantly surprised by the corn relish it had a tasty balsamic dressing. My only quibble is that the Mahi was on the tougher side, depending on how you like your fish specify if you don't want it cooked so long. After dinner I enjoyed tea on the patio and the staff made sure it was lit for me. I would come back!

Got here right at 4 when they open.

We live in North Carolina, which is just about an hour away, but we enjoy eating here. It has a pretty relaxed vibe, is always clean, and has excellent food. Plus, the service is always perfect. They have a few outside areas, one on each side of the restaurant. The outside area closest to the restaurant entrance is more for having drinks and has a large circular fire pit. The other side is much larger with tables and chairs for eating. The restaurant also boasts a nice view (it's a rooftop establishment). During the winter, it gets frigit with the wind, but once it's spring, summer, or fall, it's quite lovely. The last time we were here, our waiter brought our dessert to us as we sat beside the fire pit, enjoying it's warmth as it was still a bit chilly. Highly recommended.

The views of the city were amazing from this restaurant. The inside was very warm and welcoming. I got the succulently sour drink, the skyline burger, and the apple crisp. The drink was not well balanced as far as flavor, but the burger and apple crisp were great. I will be back the next time I visit Lynchburg. This is a gem in the city and I'm so happy I found it!

This is a great restaurant located on the rooftop of the elegant Virginian Hotel located in the heart of Lynchburg. The service is professional and attentive, the ambiance is warm and welcoming. The inside area can be a little loud but there are plenty of seating options outside. The food is amazing, I have the filet special that was presented on a bed of risotto and pared with some shrimp. Everything was cooked to perfection and had amazing flavor. I would totally recommend this place for a great dinner with a beautiful view.

I hate I didn't get to really experience the Skyline vibe as planned. I checked into The Virginian Lynchburg on a Friday a little after 4. I got settled into my room and eventually took a significant nap. I met my family later that evening for dinner. I was only able to grab a drink before the bar/ restaurant closed at 10 pm. So with about 20 mins to spare. I ordered a peach margarita and it was perfect! Not too sweet. The bartender was nice and even offered last call. My one drink was the perfect night cap. Next visit I plan to try some food, take in more of the rooftop views and have more than one cocktail. I really enjoyed my brief visit to Skyline!!

I was not very impressed with this Restaurant/Bar. When you walk in from the hotel downstairs, (using the elevator) the host is standing there next to the bar. There is not a host stand or a sign dictating what to do upon arrival. Upon looking at the menu very few items intrigued me. The employees at the time varied from extremely helpful to being extremely a burden. The hostess (even without the hostess stand or spot) was very polite and considerate to the bewilderment of confusion upon arrival. The server was very friendly and kind, but didn't offer recommendations when we were seated. Now the bar set up and the drinks experience. The bartender wasn't beyond friendly for someone you'd expect running the scene. He also was very skilled at the drink making and put on a nice show. I do have to say for the price of the drinks, it wasn't delicious even if quality ingredients and quality liquor was used. Would I come back to Skyline? I would have to say no I would not. If I was staying in the hotel, yes I would for the utter convenience nothing more.

Skyline's our favorite rooftop restaurant in Lynchburg. It's located atop the very historical and beautiful Virginian Hotel. They're open from 4-10 pm. We didn't have a reservation. It was a last minute decision, but they were still able to accommodate me, my husband and our 2 year-old granddaughter. I had the Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi which comes with Black Pepper Parmesan Fries. The pork belly's flavorful. It's crispy on the outside and tender inside. It goes well with the cucumber, arugula, cilantro, jalapeño, pickled carrot, pickled onion and chili sauce. The black pepper Parmesan fries are absolutely delicious!! Have to warn you, they're addictive!! Lol After our dinner, we decided to go on the patio that has Adirondack chairs and fire pit to enjoy the views and our dessert. We shared the chocolate cake that has a ganache topping, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It's very rich and delicious! We also had vanilla ice cream that was presented in a shape of a rose. Nice detail! Overall, our experience was great! We can't wait to go back!

My wife had the soft shell crab sandwich and I had the Cajun seafood on top of pimento cheese grits, and our food was outstanding! Our server Eli was excellent at describing our dishes and drinks and was very attentive!

It's next to a small playground and new amphitheater, so I'm sure this place gets quite busy on weekends. One person in our party said her salad had the best dressing she's ever had. The fried pickles were good. The shrimp was good. One bartender was good. Cons - We walked in and basically weren't sure what to do. There was a woman at we thought was a hostess stand, but she never said anything to us. We finally asked if we needed to check in with her to get seated. We did. But it was kind of weird. One bartender was awful. Never made eye contact. Wouldn't take any orders. Acted like she wanted to be anywhere else. I thought the Caesar salad was ok. It came with lacquered salmon. I would have loved the salmon, but not lacquered. It couldn't be made to order. Ok fine. I ordered it the way it was described. There was nothing lacquered about that salmon. It also was shredded on top of the salad and was maybe two ounces. That's ridiculous. Our server wasn't very helpful and not very attentive. I'm sure many people have had great experiences there, but I'm not sure I would take the time to go back.
