Front gate / booth with RV damage.
    Jay T.

Wow this review turned into quite a novel... This place is awesome, it's like a time capsule from times long past! If you have never been to a Drive-in it's just like the movies... Where can you find a double feature movie for $12. The movie was current also, we watched the trolls movie and it had been released to theaters the day before! The Drive-in looks pretty rough in the day and almost abandoned from the street. But around 6:30pm the place comes alive! We stay at Shady Lane RV park down the street a couple times a year when we pass through Barstow. We wanted to go but were always to tired to go after being on the road all day. My wife and daughter have never been to a Drive-In so it was a memorable occasion. And to boot we brought our RV. The man at the gate was very polite and helpful to guide me into the grounds, it's a little tight with a 40' RV. It was also evident that not all had made it through the gates safely from the damage to the booth at the gate. He asked if we had ever been there and if we had somewhere to stay tonight. We told him we were staying down the street. He then offered free overnight parking for guests that watch a movie, wow how cool is that?! We are definitely going to take him up on that next time. I doubt they have any hookups but it's way better than a loud and bright Walmart parking lot. We were pleasantly surprised the movie was $12 per adult $5 for kids & $6 for the largest bag of popcorn. If we had one of these back home it probably would be $20 a person and another $20 for popcorn. The people behind the concession stand were super friendly. All the food was reasonably priced. The man behind the counter also offered to let us stay on the grounds. I am very grateful that this place is still open to bring my family to. After covid and Netflix I see movie theaters closing left and right. It would be a shame to see this place close so please visit and show your support. Heck movies for the whole family are cheaper than the campground we are staying at...

Lost 2 customers came 5 minutes late to a. 8:30 showing of despicable me with my finance and nieces and was greeted by a red sign that I wasn't able to see due to my eyesight so I proceed in to be greeted by a angry red haired troll yelling at us to turn the light off. I have $40 in my hand waiting for a explanation or a solution and all I got was a man yelling for me to turn the lights off, I turn them off and he proceeds to talk on for 4 minutes around the point... if I missed the sign can you redirect me to the area so I can pay why are you causing a problem but the kids began to cry and my finance was ready to strangle him for berating us and flashing the light as if we're looking for you when your not even at the ticket booth and barely able to hold power. Came from Fontana for a 45 year old disappointment never again. Please don't waste your time as of 21:06 7/18/24 customer service is that of sevent street McDonald's! NO CLASS

LOVED the old fashioned commercials that played before the previews. Such nostalgia!!

We heard about this place from a friend. We live about 90 minutes away from here but decided to make the trip out as we are not comfortable going to indoor movie theaters quite yet since the pandemic. Have been to drive ins before but not in several years and haven't been to a movie since 2020. The place is definitely nothing nice to look at but it gets the job done. It's your standard drive in and is kept clean. We went on a Sunday evening and it was not too busy. Got a great spot and the movie was projected very clearly onto one of their two screens that they offer. Even saw a great sunset and a shooting star during our movie which was pretty awesome! The price was very good for even one movie but they actually offered it for two, which we didn't stay to take advantage of due to the long drive back home. The staff was very friendly however I would suggest that you bring your own food in. We did a mixture of the two because we wanted to support the business. We got a large popcorn which they offer one free refill on which is great and also a large fountain drink. Sadly both were inedible and we threw them out. The popcorn was very stale and cold and the soda was just awful, I'm not sure what they use but it tasted like bad tap water mixed into it. They do offer restrooms which is very nice and appreciated. It was clean and empty both times I used it but the smell inside the restrooms was pretty bad, like that of a portable bathroom but again it got the job done. We will definitely be back as this offers a nice alternative to indoor theaters that we won't most likely won't be comfortable going to for quite some time. We will for sure be bringing our own food next time. If you're reading this PLEASE remember to turn off your headlights. That was quite annoying during the movie several cars did not and it was distracting. We ended up putting our trucks windshield sun shade in the back window to block peoples lights and it worked great! Great drive in! Appreciate that it is there as so many have closed and it is a hard find these days. Hoping this place is able to stay open for many years to come!

Watching the sunset and pick a movie at Skyline Drive-In. What more could you ask for to spend a cosy evening with family or friends. For 10$/adult and 4$/child you can watch two movies. A cosy snack bar to buy drinks and fresh pop-corn. Open 7 days per week. First movie starts at 8.30 pm. Warm sweater recommended. It can be kinda windy in open space.

See my previous review and tips, this place still Kicks major ass! $26 for a family of 4. $4.50 popcorn with a free refill? Good luck finding a deal like that these days. On top of that it's 2 movies, last week the 2nd movie was Jaws. Come up, have a blast and respect the place, because we love it.

This place is a hidden gem for large families. Going to a movie theater is a more expensive compared to this drive in. We went as family of 7 and only spent $40.00. The other great thing about a drive-in is the fact you can have a fussy baby and still enjoy the movie without disturbing others. They also have a full snack bar with relatively low prices compared to movie theaters. We ordered the nachos and they were enough to share between two adults compared to what you get at a movie theater. We have come to this drive in many times, and occasionally we have run into inconsiderate people that leave their head lights on while the movie is playing. The worst scenario we encountered was being smoked out by some young kids using marijuana. If you have this issue, talk to the employees! They do not play games and address the issue immediately. The owner is very nice and wants to make it a family friendly environment. As with any other public location, have patience with those around you because some people are just out to ruin a good time. Look at the schedule in advance so that you go prepared in the event you stay for both movies. The location has two screens that play two movies each and you can't jump from one screen to the other for the second movie. You pick the screen that has the movies you want to watch when you pay at the gate. I take a battery jumper just in case, but they have one on site if your vehicle battery dies. All you need for a good time is a good FM radio in your car so that you can tune into the appropriate channel for the movie. They also have restrooms on site which is always a plus when watching two movies back to back. Take cash to pay at the gate and for food, they do not take ATM cards.

Skyline drive-in bio in Barstow is definitely worth a visit if you are passing through or live close by. We went during a stopover on a trip to Vegas. Very authentic, and a bargain if you are a movie-fan. The audio quality transmitted through your FM radio is great - very movie-theater like (depending on your car-stereo obviously). Many people back up their pickup trucks and and watch it sitting in the back. If you have an estate or van you can back up and watch it from from there. If you have a four-door vehicle, the persons in front get the best experience but if you are more people I would reccomened bringing a coupe of foldable chairs for remaining passengers. We have smaller kids that could sit on our laps in the front but it was not super comfortable. All in all, a great experience - highly recommendable!

My family and I have been living up in the High Desert for approximately 7 years now and finally had the chance to watch a flick here. We were not disappointed! Now I regret not bringing them sooner. The place is nostalgic and strongly reminds me of the times my parents too me as a kid, to the drive in back in the 80's. The view at dusk is amazing! Although a little dated, it gets to the point by delivering good customer service, good food and great flicks! The snack bar offers your typical movie theater style popcorn, hot dogs and sodas. They also sell nachos, although I didn't try them... they looked good! The prices at the snack bar are very affordable. The charge for the movie tickets, as well. They have two movie screens, on which they host a double feature every day. We we're there on a Tuesday and it wasn't too busy. I expect weekends to be much more so. I believe that they have a newly featured movie every Friday? Feel free to bring your folding chairs and some relaxation. We will definitely keep coming back!!

    Waiting for sunset!

I heard about the Tribeca Drive-In At The Rose Bowl last year during the first COVID-19 summer and was interested to go since I loved and attended many of the other non-drive-in outdoor cinema events. However, I felt it was still too early to be out in the wild while COVID was still raging on. Fast-forward to 2021, and Tribeca decided to return for a second season with COVID conditions slightly better than 2020 (the Delta variant continued to spread as of this review), so I gathered a few friends and excitedly checked this out for several nights to watch "Wayne's World" https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=E-DeGOiEzuvWmRAiDYrDvA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw and "Purple Rain" https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=bfHeeYNqgJM86JCXf7C50g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Was this worth the wait to get us all out of our homes!? PURCHASE General Admission Per Vehicle ($30.00 x3 + $5.00 fee x3): Purchased online (I believed the price was the same at the door the day of the event but possibly higher a fee), this was open parking so first come-first served although it seemed there might've been VIP tickets that placed you closer to the screen. You were allowed to be outside your vehicle but must maintain very close proximity. And upon check-in, you were handed information for which radio channel to tune in to https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=XFUe-mQef7rVwtwlWBgFfA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw and how to order food through the DoorDash app https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=teK8iIeffho06nAUx5iFgw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Chicken Kabobs ($17.00): This was one massive skewer of thick pieces of nicely marinated juicy tender chicken along with an assortment of sliced green bell peppers, cucumbers, and onions served with a side of spicy dipping sauce. I surprisingly bought this pricey food item which thankfully didn't disappoint except for a lighter wallet. This definitely filled me up for the rest of the evening but probably wouldn't order it again https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=XSb87k8V1Jm2M9QFQ8nVDQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Seasoned Curly Fries w/Jalapeño Cheese Sauce ($8.00): A massive amount of curled spuds I swore the basket it came in was either bottomless or somehow never-ending! The cheese sauce had a nice spicy hotness to it but ran out of it halfway through my potato plantation which was fine since the fries tasted fine without it. With a nice crispiness in each bite until you reached the bottom where they were softer due to the moisture, not a bad meal at all; but this was a lot of fries to deal with for one person https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=jGpOSdzS3xcrVAHv1AhH1A&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. SERVICE The online purchase was a breeze. Onsite directional signage to the main entrance was minimal at best (located at Lot F) https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-eJcQuflOlHPYLrAfvkyGw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. But once you arrived, the ticketing and parking staff, respectively, were friendly and helpful. The same could be said about the concession employees (there was a bar tent I didn't try), and directions to the restrooms were sufficient https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=6I83ppaDR1LdOP1daVViTw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Both audio and visual systems were very clean and clear. I didn't recall any onsite ATM machines. Generally-speaking, everything was fine and ran smoothly but just needed more signage once you got off the freeway since there were so many lots on the expansive Rose Bowl grounds. PARKING (FREE) Plenty of parking on the makeshift drive-in Lot F - 'nuff said https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=HLvvHky_uciuzRD_iTTMvQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A large open-air asphalt parking lot https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Yh7TpFIOR6W5uI-U4hYAuw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw with a state-of-the-art movie screen. Exposed to the elements, you heard random sounds from conversations, dogs barking, and vehicle traffic, etc.. The aforementioned gigantic movie screen was your TV while your vehicle's radio provided the music and audio. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Tribeca Drive-In At The Rose Bowl was a nostalgic fun time and would consider it again. The concept was perfect for the new norm of social distancing. The films shown were a wide range from old, new, classic, art-house, and more. The onsite staff were very charming and helpful, while the food menu was somewhat limited. Thankfully, you were allowed to bring your own food. I found very food value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $130.00; no tip required). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Fun experience during these unprecedented times. $35 per car. Well organized - ticketless scan…read morethe QR code. Very well staffed with friendly staff. They do a great job parking people and help adjust your car if you view is obstructed. Very Easy from ordering the ticket online to exiting the drive in. Mobile concessions selling drinks, candy, frozen treats and of course popcorn at reasonable prices. Couple of food trucks as well to choose from. Plus you can text and order the snacks on your phone too for delivery to your vehicle. You can also bring whatever food you want - there are plenty of trash cans too. Screen resolution is great - even on a Smokey Fire day at 4:30pm the LED jumbo screen is clear - only a few night dark scenes fade out a little during the daytime but not a big thing. Everything else looks fantastic on the large screen even during the daytime. Sound is through two stations on your car stereo or you can also stream through your phone if needed from their website. They even do movie previews for about 15mins. All the covid precautions are put in place and well managed. Vehicles are even staggered and given plenty of space to get out of your vehicle to stretch if needed. A few even parked backwards to sit in the back of their open suv areas. Security staff riding around on bicycles and also to answer any questions. You can't beat this activity for $35 with two or more people while the theaters are still closed. Plenty of restrooms as well that they are constantly cleaning. Way to go rose bowl for being one of the first to do this!

There's something special about watching movies at a drive in that regular theaters just can't match. The area itself is nice and spacious, and one of my favorite things is opening up the back of a large suburban car, setting up blankets, and getting super cozy while watching the screen. It feels relaxed, fun, and perfect for spending time with friends or family. The cafeteria is another big plus. The food is surprisingly good and very affordable, which makes it easy to grab snacks or meals without overspending. It definitely satisfies cravings and adds to the overall experience. If you're looking for a fun, nostalgic, and comfortable way to watch movies, Paramount Drive In Theaters is a must visit. Highly recommend.

4.5 stars My husband…read moreand I ($26 for the two of us) went and watched Five Nights at Freddy's 2 movie here and I would like to say it was a fun experience for the most part. We enjoyed watching the movie and not bothering anyone else with our little one too much(under a year old). I would like to say that it was our first time here and though we made it on time for our movie when I tried calling ahead 10 minutes to show time to see if (ex) a 7:30 show time is a hard start to a movie or there's trailers no one was there to answer the phone and I was already going to run 10 minutes late to my movie, I tried 3+ times. I'm the type of person who hates missing anything in a movie as it ruins the experience for me. I really wish that they had someone to watch the phone incase someone else had those kinds of questions. I will say for anyone wondering as of right now I don't THINK a (ex) 7:30 show starts exactly at 7:30 but more like 7:40. I would have to come again to see. The audio for the movie was great and the only "glitches" we had was when my car fully turned off every so often or Siri heard her name when no one spoke it (personal phone glitch). The visual on the screen was good too for the most part but might have been better if my windows weren't so bad. At the snack stand they had hotdogs, popcorn, some good selection of ice cream etc. , I wish I got the menus picture. I got myself a bottle of soda and two pizza slices. The pizza wasn't great but it was edible at least. I will say it's a great thing to that at the snack stand they have the option for you to buy a radio so you don't have to use your cars battery. But if your car does die, like someone's did, they are able to jump it for you. I would say one of the funnest parts, to an animal lover like me, was the fact they have cats that roam the theaters parking lot/outdoor area. They are shy creatures but a pure black one an employee nicknamed toothless was real sweet.

And the Roadium on a Sunday, provided me the opportunity to find all the previously mentioned items and things, plus it also help me get steps in, in a slow pace, while I absorbed the sun's Vitamin D. I am surprised to say this, like super surprised, but the item that most caught- really arrested- my attention was a picture that centered the country's current sitting president: Trump. In the picture, Trump has his head down, eyes closed, hands and fingers interlocked, and he seems to have a face of meditation, maybe receiving peace and/or knowledge. And behind stand a variety of historical and political powerhouses of the past, like Nixon, Reagan, Washington, Lincoln, and others that I could not recognize to name with confidence. However, all had their eyes closed, and had an aura of tranquility that also carried palpable notes of worry. What struck me the most is that the group, in tense serenity, included men and women of color. It is important to note that I clipped the picture, to give the reader or viewer the opportunity to collect their own thoughts and land their own interpretation. That got heavy. I also clipped a picture of quinceneras. One was dressed in Cinderella blue with a carriage, horse, and carriage handers were in the background, I thought it was A.I. generated but perhaps some people do have quinces like that, in fact I know they do, I used to wacth my Super Sweet Sixteen on MTV. Getting inside the Roadium is hard on a Sunday. But apparently worst on others day because the Roadium has different vendors on different days and each attracts a different type of crowd. For instance, on the firstMonday of the month vendors from the Rose Bowl Flea Market come. Please know that I am recycling information that was provided to me by one of the vendors. Research, please to verify accuracy. However, she also explained that on Mondays, when the Vintage Vendors come, parking becomes nearly imposible to find, even on the street. On this day, it cost 5 dollars, the cashiers only accept cash, The place has trinkets, food, and finds, seriously, it is a cool walk to see, touch, and get lost, if that is something one can do- shop vendors with nothing you want to buy, but still find meaning in the seeing and touching. I had peanuts on this day, but they were special because they were freshly toasted. Like I got a few to try (both extra toasted and not so toasted) and they were still warmed from the machine that toasted them. The touch of a warm shell was enough for me to be impressed but the freshness was key. This vendor explains that sometimes the peanuts in the store are 10 days old, after they were first roasted. Again do research. I saw micro Mexican candy stores with some of the candy that really communicates non-tourist streets of Oaxaca. I also bought three shirts. One was 8, two other ones were three dollars, and I feel like they were honest finds. I took a video of a barbie like doll, not barbie, using a Segway, which I thought was a wink to the modern that made sense yet never seen. I also saw a Spiderman Halloween shirt. And I thought how weird. It was him siting Spidey like, and he was pumpkin orange with bats behind him. It was juvenile because it was Disney product from theri Halloween bash time. So this place does have what was one precious yet never bought. I can see how someone might get something today to use at another day, or simply, be creative and DIY stuff from the stuff they found here.

Ok I have been coming here since I have the little girl and they always have the best deals and…read morecute trinkets to buy. I used to also sell here when I was younger and helped my mom with her clothing business and that was always a good time. It is very professional and very organized at this swap meet. They keep it well up and clean and very structured throughout the parking. On the weekend Saturday and Sunday is five dollars and during the week is cheaper so I recommend coming during a week if you can. I always come here to get some of my jeans. They have the most cutest, unique jeans that I ever saw. They also have all the stuff you need from plates, Clorox wipes, Lysol, and so much more. The deals here are very good. They also sell a lot of roasted peanuts that's freshly made and they have a lot of good food stands as well. The only thing is that the parking can be a little crazy, but other than that, this is a really good outdoor spot meet and I love to come here to grab some cute things for reasonable deals. It's pretty big and I will maybe be roughly around 10 to 12 aisles full of everything you need. -Marshay D.
