Haven't been to Skyline in FW since moving here, so we gave it a try for lunch... I grew up on this stuff coming from SW Ohio, so IYKYK. This is a nice Skyline location... Clean, well-kept, good/friendly service, with their typical quality coneys and 3-5 way chili combos. It definitely brought back childhood memories of eating there after Red Legs, Bengals, UC games... While Skyline is definitely an acquired taste, there's just something that keeps you coming back for more if you grew up on the stuff. I would have 5-starred this location, but the price was outrageous... $27+ w/ tip for lunch (one person) - Wow. I love Skyline. I'll just say it out loud. My husband grew up near Cincinnati so I have been to many different Skylines. This one doesn't disappoint. Nothing fancy, but all the necessities are there. Seat yourself. Booth or table-and-chairs seating are available. You can also just belly up to the bar and watch them cook while you eat . The open kitchen is right there. Fountain drinks, Pepsi products. Service is super fast. Order at the table, pay at the counter. If you've not tried Cincinnati chili, give it a try. It's not like anything else. Being gluten free I always get a coney bowl, which is their chili with hot dogs in it, with cheese. I get it with onions and mustard too. Do I miss the nice soft bun? YES the answer is yes but I sure am glad to have this as a second choice. I used to enjoy a coney with everything back in the day. But alas. Skyline was introduced to us in 2012 when I imet my birth father for the first time. He lived in Ohio, so we were introduced to Skyline a d the ways you can have it - 3-way; 4-way; or 5-way. Your other choice is wet or dry. Once all of these were explained to me, I went with 3-way dry. I never thought chili and cheddar cheese on spaghetti could be good. It was not "good", it was D E L I C I O U S ! ! Since then, not only do we go to the restaurant, jbut we also buy it in cans and in the frozen section and have it at home! The coney I had was ok. I definitely am not a fan of the chili. It's very sweet and has a strong nutmeg/cinnamon flavor. If you like pumpkin spice you might like it. The hotdog is also nothing to write home about. The fries were really good though, freshly made and crisp. If I came here again I'd probably get just fries. I've got some friends that swear by this place and I've always avoided it due to the spaghetti aspect of the chili, but I can tell you that I've been wrong before and I was wrong about this. First off, this place is a sit down restaurant with servers. I always assumed it was more order at the counter and find a seat, cafe style. That was a nice touch. I ordered a coney and a 3-way, and man was it an experience. They both come with a MOUND of cheddar cheese on top and that makes it a fun exercise in trying to be as clean as possible while shoving a grated cheese block in your face. They also use cinnamon in their "chili" (it's honestly more of a spaghetti sauce, and if you think of it that way going into it then it makes it less of a surprise). This place could probably never be an every day spot, because there's no way that it is even remotely good for you, but as a treat I could see this being a staple. read more

It's Cincinnati chili outside of Cincinnati. It's everything I could hope for. The differences between what I used to get back home in Cincy and what I got in Fort Wayne were negligible. Given that it's the closest source of Cincy chili to my new home in Chicago and I'm Fort Wayne multiple times a month, I have absolutely no complaints. read more

I think SkyLine is more of a cult following than a cuisine experience. This location is new. However it is clean, spacious and comfortable. The service team was right on everything we needed. The drinks and refills came out regularly. The food didn't take long to prepare and came out quickly as well - even for a hungry party of 5. I ordered a 5 way chili which I like. I find the sauce tasty - a nice balance of sweet and tangy. SkyLine piles on the cheddar cheese - which I love but not everyone does. I was disappointed that the mound of chili/spaghetti was served in a small platter. This caused the saucieness to spill over onto the table frequently - not my favorite. This dish is good and recommend first timers. My party also ordered the garlic bread. It had a nice taste but came out dripping in butter sauce. The coney dogs are good if you like the chili sauce. It's a little thinner than I like. The dogs are short so one won't fill you up. My wife really liked the wrap and the spicey ranch sauce. My daughter was disappointed with the simple garden salad that was covered in a mound of cheese. Overall I would say that you have to experience SkyLine at least once. There are 2 types of chili lovers! Those that like it sweet and those that don't! Then there's me, I just like chili. My review will be based on those 2 types of chili lovers. It's not anything I'd prefer, but it wasn't awful and it wasn't great either. Non sweet lovers: this ain't for you fam, you're not going to be happy. You'll feel disgusted and just all around tight that someone had the audacity to use the sugar bowl as a seasoning tool and added way to much water. Like #WhereDeyDoDatAt - keep it moving fam, save your coins, move around. Exit exit exit. Me: a complex chili lover. I grew up with the sweet chili my parents made, so I'm familiar with the hint of sweetness, but it's the consistency that threw me off. It's way to loose. I require a more, stick to your bones type, combined with oyster crackers. Every time I have a slightly sweet bowl, it brings back memories of helping my parent chops onions and bell peppers and frying up hamburger in my family's kitchen. This is an ok spot. I had a 3 way potato, a chili cheese dog, a cholito and a Greek salad. Every thing seemed like an afterthought, all prepared to throw together and serve. My potato was boiled, as were the dogs, and you could tell the dogs were cheap. The tortilla on the cholito was raw. Everything was very salty. Everything would have been sooo much better if alittle care and patience would have gone into the preparation of the food. Spend alittle extra on some quality hot dogs. Disappointing visit last night. This location usually gives us an enjoyable dining experience so we were surprised that the hours of this restaurant are so short. It is only open until 730 pm. Every restaurant in fort wayne is open until 9 pm. We were told it was because the Governor is restricting restaurant hours. This is not true. This location began serving Graeters ice cream this week. When we arrived and ordered our ice cream for dessert, our server said they only had a few choices left. How can they be our of ice cream when they use started the promotion a week ago? My chili was not hot and I sent my lemonade back because it was so loaded with sugar I couldn't drink it. We had to leave before we could finish our ice cream , so we took it with us and ate it in our car. Ridiculous. I am a native Ohioan and I LOVE Skyline Chili, but if this location wants to continue to get our business or get business at all, they need to be truthful with customers and step up their game. read more

I first saw Skyline Chili on a tv food shows years ago and vowed one day to try it. I went with my daughter and son-in-law this past weekend to finally give it a try. I'm giving 2 stars since the employees were so friendly. In regards to the food, I thought it not very good. I had the spaghetti with chili and cheese. I remember seeing this in tv and it looked great. Big pile of spaghetti with a mound of chili and cheese. This was not the case in person. Maybe it's for the best as I just didn't like the taste. Luckily this one recently opened in my bf's hometown, making it a bit more accessible. Skyline is absolutely delicious. Didn't really get into this place to much. Didn't care for the chili much. It's in an awkward area kind of out by the mall. Skyline isn't the best chili out there. This is exactly everything I'd been told it was. The chili has a nutmeg flavor which is delicious and slightly different than I'm used to. All the dishes we ordered had a mountain of cheese even though the place was packed we only waited maybe 10 minutes for a table with at least 5 parties before use. The service was wonderful, they got us our food within 10-15 minutes. They got our table at least three rounds of refills plus a round to go for everyone too. I was excited to finally try this place out. They start off super friendly and ready to serve you a little bowl of oyster crackers and the menu, while not that big, had me indecisive about what to try. My Child order the kids chicken strip dinner with cheese on top of her fries. I settled on the chillito adding sour cream, per the servers recommendation, and a chili and cheese sandwich. I also ordered a coffee but had to wait awhile for it due to the server not knowing if they have decaf and her more than likely forgetting about it. What I finally got was a half a cup of coffee and the server saying "if that's cold let me know and I'll microwave it". What?? I asked her "why?" And she said "it's from the Kuerig!" For $1.50 and zero refills I gave it right back to her and explained I didn't want it. Our food took a long time. There were two other tables with two people at each table. One server and two employees behind the counter for the drive thru. Service is starting to fall flat. She ignored my excuse me's and my hand up for water refills, she forgot to bring extra oyster crackers and never came back to see if things tasted ok. Our food was cold to luke warm and the chili cheese sandwich was served on a hot dog bun instead of a hamburger bun. The cheese layer on top wasn't melted or even halfway resembling melted. This was a huge turn off for the both of us. My chillito was lacking chili filling and I did discover the tablespoon of sour cream they charged extra for. There was an inkling amount of cheese in the huge rolled up tortilla served in tin foil. Honestly, I could have ordered a better tasting chillito at Taco Bell. When we finally got the check they charged $1.30 extra for less than a 1/4 cup of cheese on a kids Meal french fry. I wasn't happy and wished the server would have told me it was that much before I ordered it. Considering right now Meijer has their cheese for $1.89 a package I felt ripped off. There are other items I found interesting and would have wanted to return to try such as there Potatoes or wraps but this first visit left a sour taste in My mouth. ESP when I feel I can be at home and open a can of Hormel chili and slop it on a Luke warm hot dog with melted cheese on top!! Kids do eat free with a paid adult entree on Wednesday nights. The dinning are is clean and it has a full view of the kitchen and drive thru window. They had clean bathrooms and clean server stations as there are for the entire dinning room to see as well. When you get the bill you must go up and pay at the cash register. The parking is plenty since they Are the only store in this strip mall. I prob won't return. I have lived in Cincinnati and am very familiar with Skyline. I love it. It was a 5 star. But I have noticed over the last couple of visits that the spaghetti noodles have changed. They seem thicker and not as soft. I am not sure if they have a shortage of their traditional noodles or they have gone to a cheaper brand. They don't sit on the plate as well and absorb the sauces differently. I may not go back as it is not the traditional flavor. read more

Chili cheese dogs are delicious, $1.99/each. Fries were crispy and hot. Husband had a Greek chicken wrap and said it was really good. Daughter had a classic chicken wrap. A hint of spice but really good. Youngest had the kids 3 way. Tiny portion, not enough for an 8 year old. Middle had the kids hot doggy, I thought it was 2 hot dogs with buns, but it's just 2 hot dogs in one bun. Server didn't offer a refill, I had to ask. Overall, food was good. Service was as expected. I'll have to come back to this restaurant. The food was good and the price was really good. Around $7 a person or less. I was surprised that this business uses a waitress for ordering, and food and drink delivery. I was surprised because the food is cheap. Doesn't seem like the normal tip would be very big. I over tipped, because I felt the service was amazing and the waitress deserved more than a normal tip at the prices they charge for food. The waitress I had was extremely nice. The waitress even offered me a to go drink, which I thought was awesome! I only tried the coney dogs and fries. They offer a spaghetti chili meal and salads too. I could not taste the chili under all the cheese they put on my coney dogs. They put a mountain of cheese on the coney dogs. They also put mustard and onions on them and I could taste that either. They do offer a light and habanero cheese option. I opted for the habanero cheese and it was good; you could tell there was some heat there, but not much. I would have liked less cheese and more chili for a balanced coney dog. I think that Fort Wayne's Coney Island Wiener Stand has better coney dogs. The fries were very good. I know it's just plain fries, but for some reason I really liked them. I liked them more than Mc'Donalds or Burger King fries. There tea wasn't too sweet. I normally get a half sweet and half unsweet tea. Here, a full sweet tea is fine. read more

This strip mall Skyline Chili is very new and very clean. Staff was unusually friendly and helpful, multiple people stopped to check on our table. I was a Skyline newbie and didn't know what to expect but I totally loved my four way with onions! Delicious. I opted for the small and a Greek side salad which rivaled many other restaurants' Greek salad entrees. Very fair prices too. Not a whole lot of atmosphere but that is definitely forgivable especially for a chain. It was a great introduction to the unusual, tasty Skyline chili! read more

Long overdue review for me on skyline chili. For my family, skyline chili is an institution that brings family together. Having grown up on the canned stuff at home or planning Indy trips around a visit to skyline, it's important. Having said that, my son and wife aren't fans of it. So I go here with others, and occasion (gasp) on my own. This location has been around about a year now, and their service has greatly improved. Working out the kinks and having food ready to go took some time to master. But the food is always good, service is overall good. You're either going to love or hate it, but as I tell my wife: they have other food here too. If you've never been, make sure to tell your server. For those of you who have never had Skyline Chili, it's definitely worth a try! I had a Cheese Coney and a 4-Way with Onion. Yum!! I tried Skyline Chili for the first time when I was 18 (while visiting Cincinnati), and have been a huge fan ever since. Since I live in south central Michigan, the nearest Skyline locations are in Lima, Ohio and now this location in Fort Wayne [about 10 miles closer]. Great food as always! I've been eating at Skyline for over 20 years and it was great to come home for Christmas and go there with my parents in Ft. Wayne! The restaurant is clean and the staff is very friendly. The star or the show on the menu is the 3 way, 4 way, or 5 way. The base is spaghetti, covered with their special sweet chili (no beans), and cheese. To make the 3 way a 4 way, you can add cheese or onion, and to make it a 5 way, you get both. The 3 Way and the Cheese coney are my go to. Been eating skyline since 2004 and this one is just as good. I go there a few times a month.
