I have searched far and wide for a good stylist (in Denver and Colorado Springs). I was at the point where I couldn't drive down the street for fear that someone would recognize that I never returned to their chair. My hair is fine and wavy and, when left to dry naturally, would have been awesome in the 80's. And aside from being really critical about it, I suck at styling it myself. Skye Salon was a referral, and my wish was granted. It's clean and bright, and the staff is hip, happy and friendly. Taija is a MIRACLE WORKER. Be it cut or color (or both), I always leave looking like a supermodel - and with something I can keep up at home! She is even amazing when I have no idea what I want and ask her just to make me pretty. Because Taija was so amazing, I decided to delay my Esthetician visit and give Meena a try. Holy cannoli. It was the best facial (microderm and peel, and an unexpected but welcome sinus area massage) I have EVER had. If you haven't already, book an appointment ASAP. read more

SKYE Salon & Spa is a wonderful place to pamper yourself. The staff is so kind, very well trained and go out of their way to take extra good care of you. I get my hair colored and cut by Jerry Carr, I have followed her from two other salons. She always makes me look fabulous! She is so skilled, I love how she listens to what i want, she takes the time to make sure I am completely satisfied with my hair and she is a perfectionist which makes me feel good because she puts pride in her work. I also get pedicures from Shawn. I get compliments on my toes all the time. I use to have such an awful time with my feet but now after seeing Shawn for over a year my feet are healthy and beautiful. The products that SKYE use are fantastic. My toe polish always stays on until my next appointment and I am in the pool 3-4 times a week. They always have the latest and best products available to buy as well as what all the staff uses on their clients. The staff is so well educated on all the products that they sell and I always go home with at least one item! On top of all that they sell fashionable items like purses, jewelry and sunglasses and they are all super fun and trendy. I recommend SKYE Salon and Spa to anyone and everyone and will continue to do so. It is a terrific place and a wonderful atmosphere. I love SKYE! read more

I scheduled an appointment with Skye last week for noon. Horrible experience from start to the time I walked out. Please understand that I am not speaking to any of the services provided to me - I didn't stay long enough to let them touch my hair. My first problem when I walked in is that the salon is dark and crowded and noisy. It is the worst sort of open concept that just ends up looking like a disorganized mess. The reception "desk" such as it is, is actually a sit down sort of desk off to one. Don't worry, you'll find it after you look around a bit - nobody will greet you. The two 'receptionists' were young, unprofessional in look and demeanor and downright rude. So I felt uneasy right away - no friendly happening at all. It got weirder as I sat there and watched the evidently 'regular' customers come in a shout out to the 'receptionists' that they had arrived. Add to that the fact that not a single stylist was dressed or coiffed in a way that impressed me - to the point that I wanted nobody there touching my hair. The people I saw leave weren't impressive looking either considering they had just had their hair done. By the time 12:15 rolled around and nobody had bothered to talk to me anymore, I just left. Yup. Walked out. I went to Toni and Guy at Park Meadows. Excellent review forthcoming for them. read more

Been going to this salon since I moved to Colorado three years ago. I have been very happy. The front desk girls the first few times I went, were not very friendly, they now have a nice bunch of girls up front greeting you and scheduling appointments in a very pleasant manner. I see Danielle, and she always tries to get me in her schedule and does and excellent job on my color and my brazilian blowouts. I even have my boyfriend and stepdaughter see her as well. I also, love the image skincare line and they happen to carry it. The hair products are reasonably priced and they have a punch card for product discounts. Meena Phadke, the esthetician at Skye Salon, is absolutely wonderful! I've received the best microderms from her! I've been to a lot of different estheticians in the area, including some at a top, well-known cosmetic surgeon's office, and Meena is hands down the best of them all! I got great results from her and she wasn't afraid to be aggressive (at my request). She knows her stuff and will make your skin look amazing! Oh, and don't be frightened by the chaos going on in the salon, Meena's treatment room is very tranquil and relaxing! :) read more

My skin hadn't had any treatment for a while and i was bit scared upon reading reviews from people had Microdermabrasion experiences. This one has helped me dramatically. So disappointed. From the moment I walked in. No one greeted me I had to walk to someone doing hair to tell them I had an appointment. I got micro derm from Meena. She was really rough and rushed through the process. I was there maybe 25 minutes before it was over. I walked out with a overly red and sore face and more tense then when I walked in. I am not the one to write bad reviews, because I give everyone the benefit of doubt, but this must have really upset me if I am writing about it. I went to Skye today for a simple pedicure and a Shellac manicure and did not request anyone specific since the reviews seem to praise everyone. First let me say that the feeling at this salon reminds me of a second class strip club. Dark, impersonal, loud and overcrowded, nothing resembling a spa. I proceded to have my pedicure and Chrystal (sorry if I spelled it wrong) seemed very nice. The water was very hot and she asked me if the temperature was Ok after she had me put both of my feet in. The whole pedicure took no more than 20 minutes from start to finish. No scrub, no spa treatment. For the prices they charge I was really expecting something more luxurious. My nails were chopped at the corners to the point where they now are digging into my skin. We proceeded to the manicure. No soak, just dry scratching and no trim of cuticles. We were talking about colors I would prefer and apparently she had one color available close to the one I was asking for and could not locate any others, but assured me she had the perfect blue I was asking for the Shellac manicure. Cuticles uncut, nails filed uneven, she proceeded to show me the perfect baby blue I had asked for. At that point I thought I was colorblind. She offered me a periwinkle blue and when I turned it down proceeded to offer me a turquoise. I opted to not even fight this battle and chose pink. Under 1 hour I was in and out with the feeling of being talked into getting something I did not want in the first place. Went home and upon looking at my nails further, my anger just grew. $70 for something I am SURE I could have done a much better job at home myself. So, before you book your experience at the Skye Salon and Spa ask yourself, am I that gullable to pretend to be happy with a service that sucks just because the other reviews are good. I hope you have a better experience if you choose to risk going there! read more

Sharon Peter has been my stylist guru for over 5 years now and I just love her. She does the best blonde hair in Denver and she has a wonderfully cheerful and friendly way about her. She is insightful and really understands what I want, and has always done an above par job highlighting my blonde hair which is harder to do than one would think. Microdermabrasion w/hydrating mask on Groupon.....Do not recommend this at all ! I just went on Saturday and I will never go back! As soon as I got there I noticed the place was dirty , the floor looked like it hadn't been mopped since they opened , the window was so dirty my daughter was drawing pictures in the dust! Then Meena comes and asks how I heard about her, I told her Groupon . She takes my Groupon and walks away. When I made the appt they told me it was an hour long facial and I informed them I also wanted to get my black heads extracted, they said no problem. Ya well I was in and out in 30 minutes , she didn't remove any blackheads, only did half my nose with the Microderm machine, didn't tell me anything she was doing or the benefits of it ... Bad experience all together. You'd think these places are participating in Groupon to get new clients and would show them a good experience so they return and pay the full fee but I will never go back here. And I will never buy a Groupon when I want to receive top quality services! read more

Danielle Craig does a fantastic job with color. She listens to what you are considering, and then will discuss her thoughts and what she feels would be a good choice. She did a wonderful job with both the haircut/style and color. I had another stylist, the morning of my son's wedding, comment on her color technique and how nice it was! We were out of town, or I would have had her do my hair for that event, as well. I would recommend her to anyone looking for for a great colorist as well as stylist. She is also very personable and over all it was a very good experience. read more

I purchased a groupon for Meena for a facial . . . and it was absolutely the worst facial I have ever had. She cancelled for an appointment in March, and wanted to reschedule our appointment today. During the facial, her cell phone went off, and she left me for at least 15 minutes laying there with a mask on. When I looked back, she was on her cell phone. Maybe applied three products, but never analyzed my skin, asked me about my skin or products and was obviously not interested in giving me a good facial. Very disappointed. read more

Stacy B. has cut my hair for years (at least 5) and she has always done an incredible job. My hair is always cut just the way I like it, and she has never made any mistakes. As a man, it's nice to walk into a salon and not feel intimidated due to overly feminine decor. Skye is a very nice environment, and a great place to get my hair cut. Although the salon is lovely, I had the HORRIBLE experience of having my roots colored by a MARTY MARTINEZ! I was told he was a "Color Expert". He may be but UNFORTUNATELY, when I showed up for my appointment, he had a broken arm and had an assistant (who clearly wasn't experienced) to help him do his clients. (Shouldn't I have been told prior to the appointment he was working with one arm but he insisted he had been working for weeks like that.) I told him I wanted blonde highlights for a trip I had coming up but I'm guessing his EGO got in the way because he went into the back and mixed up a dark (level 5) brown and proceeded to paint it all around my hairline and when I asked about it being dark, he insisted it was my base so I hoped it would rinse out lighter. When it was done, it was REALLY DARK! I tried to tell him I didn't like IT but he immediately got defensive and after asking him to PLEASE put highlights in like I asked, he added a few strands in the front and when he proceeded to cut my hair, he would comb it and he would tell the assistant (NOT HIS USUAL ASSISTANT) to cut it and how. I received a WRETCHED blunt cut and because I was late for work, had to leave. I wore a hat back to work and ran home to wash it. It wouldn't come out. I called him the next day to ask him to fix it but he didn't call back. I had to spend an additional $90 with another hairdresser to give me the highlights I originally asked for and when I kept calling to ask him for a partial refund of the $200 DOLLARS I spent on him his behavior and attitude was equally arrogant and condescending! It took me 5 calls to get a hold of him! I don't doubt he has talent but if he could shelf his FAT HEAD, perhaps his clients would get the service they requested! There was no bigger joke than watching this guy try to do my hair with one hand and having another person reach in to do his job. I should've walked out. Shame on me for trusting this hairdresser! You want to believe they know more but CLEARLY, it's about him, NOT his clients! read more

I had a groupon for a 60 minute hot stone massage with Teresa. I'm not sure if she works at Skye or has her own business and just uses their place. The card she gave me says Sacred Wellness. In any event, she was awesome! I judge massage therapists on small things that make the difference. First, she took my groupon even though it was going to expire before she could get me in. Second, I showed up a couple of minutes late and she went 10 minutes past my specified end time. Third, she didn't leave me waiting for five minutes after I undressed to come back in and start the massage (honestly, who are these people who need five minutes to pull off their shirt and pants and hop on the table?). Fourth, she didn't talk to me at all. And fifth, she gave a great massage! She has a super mellow personality and I could tell she does this because she really wants to help people relax. Made an appointment for an updo for my daughter for prom..coming from Houston, texas to go with her boyfriend in Parker..was told the stylist was "great" at updo's. Needless to say she did not do updo's and curled my daughters hair instead. It fell out immedietly and she curled it again and then proceeded to tell my daughter to "go home and curl it," What? My daughter was so upset she did not bring anything with her to do her hair. Luckily her boyfriends mother helped as much as she could but it was not good. Imagine how disappointed I was as I am a stylist myself and it just broke my heart when I saw the pictures. Stylist name was Tazia? I guess the receptionist should know the stylist better and if she lied about the stylist being able to do a service, which she clearly couldn't, shame on her and the salon. Don't trust what your going for unless you know your stylist capabilities and skills! And maybe the receptionist needs better training. Thanks for all the great pictures my daughter won't be sharing. This past week I had an appointment with Tajia to get my hair highlighted for my wedding day (August 15th). As Tajia was blowdrying my hair she told me she had a confession. Normally she would be stressed out to give someone highlights so close to their wedding if she wasn't CERTAIN what they wanted. (This is only the second time I've been to Tajia, but I'm not planning on going anywhere else!) But with me, she knew exactly what to do because she knew the hair style I was getting done for the wedding, and it turned out AMAZING. In all seriousness, it is the best highlight/lowlight job I've ever received. It's natural, beautiful, and is exactly what I wanted even though I didn't do the best job explaining it. Tajia knows the right questions to ask before she starts, she's awesome to talk to and I am very grateful that I have someone I trust with my hair, just around the corner. My review is for Tajia Olivia. She is by far one of the best stylists I have had! Let's start off with the pros: Her prices are super fair. I didn't pay a ridiculous amount for a full highlight (and trust me I have A LOT of hair and it's long). Although, if she did charge a ridiculous amount, SHE IS WORTH IT!!!!! I have never left a salon thinking, "wow this color is EXACTLY what I had in mind." This is the first time I have had this experience. Our consult took roughly 5 min for her to grasp what I was looking for. She had all of my hair foiled and under heat within an hour. My total appointment time was 3 hours (which is a record I must say for my hair!!!!) This was from consult to full styled completed hair. I am so impressed. She also didn't try to sell me product. I LOVE THAT! I always feel so guilted into buying product after a style. I just can't say enough about how wonderful my experience was with her! I will definitely be going back.
