Not knowing what gifts to get for each other for our anniversary, we decided to go skydiving! My husband talked about how incredible his first jump was in South Carolina, so I knew he'd want to do it again. We found Skydive Suffolk from my sister in law who has been twice so far. Based on their Yelp and Google reviews, I felt safe enough to come here. I got paired with David and honestly I'm so glad I did. From the moment he introduced himself, all the way to our goodbyes, he gave off a very warm and calming aura. He made me feel safe and was honestly just such a nice guy. My husband ended up getting me the hand cam addition and while the angles are incredibly unflattering (LOL) it was nice to watch it back and share it with my older kids. I also shared it with some close friends and family and they all commented on how cool my instructor was, thanks David! My instructor was Jo Jo and man I wanted to make him my friend on first meeting. He was fun, instructional, funny and safety was always first. I have thought about skydiving for years and finally did it for my 50th birthday. It was a phenomenal experience. I wish I'd done it sooner. Scheduling on the website was incredibly simple. When I arrived, the signs were easy to follow to the office. The lady at the desk was friendly and had me watch a video and sign some forms. She advised me someone would find me in a few minutes and walk me through the jump process. I was free to walk around and watch the people packing the parachutes and talk to other jumpers. My instructor Tyler found me soon after that. He got me hooked into the harness and explained how the jump would work. I had a brief interview for my video and waited for the group ahead of me to return. Tyler explained the jump sequence again just before we boarded the plane and one last time before we jumped. Tyler's exuberance made the entire experience even better. He was professional and enthusiastic about making my day special. The video and photos are definitely worth it. I even got a really cool completion certificate. I already want to go again. read more

Scheduled my first tandem skydive here for my birthday, unfortunately due to weather I had to reschedule (which was super easy!). Upon my return, I brought my parents and best friend along for the adventure. My mother couldn't jump due to a shoulder injury, but my father and friend jumped with me. WOW, what an experience and what a company to have our first jumps with. These people are great and make you feel so comfortable and guarantee you have a fun and memorable experience. There isn't one bad thing I can say about this place!! I went skydiving here for my 29th birthday. I made sure to thoroughly review their website for any and all information before I went so I would have a little knowledge about what to expect. Their website is full of all the info you could ever need. Once we got there, they were very accommodating to my "party". I brought my husband, 3 children, best friend, and her fiancé. They all wanted to see me jump and S2 had no problems with them being there! My instructor Stacey was nothing short of fantastic! He made me feel at ease, told jokes to calm my nerves, and basically knew (without me telling him) the kind of experience I wanted and made sure it happened! Everyone is extraordinarily friendly and they are true experts in their field who want nothing more than for you to have the best experience possible. I've been skydiving for over 20 years and have seen a few different drop zones. Skydive Suffolk is an exceptional drop zone, it is a family owned drop zone and you can see the Manthy family represented all over the dz. From the store, to the video editing and administrative sections of the organization. They have some very experienced instructors and staff. The planes are well maintained and the student program is run exceptionally well. It is a good place to be a student or a sport jumper and if it is your day for a tandem, you will have a good time. I only started skydiving at Skydive Suffolk in August 2014 (2 years after getting into the sport), and I am now driving as often as I can from Washington DC to jump there. It is by far the friendliest DZ around. Awesome organizers, instructors, coaches, staff, DZO, manager, regular jumpers, etc.... Everybody is friendly and willing to help new jumpers. And don't get me started about their landing areas.... Huge!!! I highly recommend it. Love it! Now if only Mike could get that helicopter to pick me up in DC every Friday evening and get me back on Sunday evening, it would be absolutely perfect! read more
