I had my first tandem jump here on March 22. I chose 18,000 feet (because, why not??) my instructor was Kevin and it was an absolute blast! He made sure I was aware of every step and explained everything to me in a manner that made sense! There were extensive gear checks and he vocalized each time what he was checking. The jump itself was exhilarating! I didn't experience any roller coaster drop feelings. One thing that I did experience that I wasn't aware would happen, but it makes sense now. If your ears are sensitive to pressure changes- the pressure in your ears might be a tad bit uncomfortable. This may be specific to the 18,000 ft, but better to be prepared! I decided to get the video add on and I'm so glad I did! The facility was comfortable and all the staff was so kind!! I've spent a good deal of time on the phone talking to Betsy who has been so wonderful answering all my questions! Fast forward to today. My experience at Skydive Santa Barbara was unexpectedly impactful on my life. It's all I've talked about since that day. I'll be going back to start the process of getting my license. If you've ever thought to try skydiving, I couldn't recommend this place enough!! Take the jump, you won't regret it!!
Yesterday was my first ever jump ! I jumped with Max who by the way made the whole process even more rad and seamless as he explained every part of it so clearly and simple before and during the jump ! Carly who is another jumper was able to film from another persons point of view during the jump and she was also such a sweet person ! Max and Carly made the whole experience so fun and unforgettable ! Will never forget my first jump here at sky dive Santa Barbara, this definitely won't be my last !!!
Had an experience a few years ago in Temecula and this time I wanted my friend to experience this feeling j had years ago. Looked up places around SB, SLO area and this location was reviewed well across all ratings platforms. A bit more expensive than Temecula, but understandable given the breathtaking views. The name is a bit deceiving as it's located in the Lompoc area, but understand for SEO it's appeals to all towns that are nearest to this part of the coast. Allow yourself time to arrive to location to: settle, sign forms and watch pre boarding vids. Recommend not consuming food or beverages prior. Easy to book. When you arrive the receptionist will upsell you depending on level of jump. Honestly it's worth it for the experience alone. We chose the film not pictures. Felt that we could get our stills from video screenshots. Chris and Cayden were our jump masters. Both were full of energy, hype men, made the experience feel comfortable and trust was established immediately. We overall, for pricing it's worth it! It's once in a lifetime unless you have a high from wanting to do more of this. Next time I was to try the highest elevation with masks on. Feeling a bit Charlie's Angel's-esqu
An incredible experience! The views are fantastic. Everyone was so nice. I have several jumps under my belt and this DZ is tops with safety. They caught an issue my instructor made in my log book that I was able to get him to fix before I moved. I was very impressed since I work in aviation safety and so many drop zones run careless operations.
I had a wonderful experience for the 55th birthday yesterday! Morgan was my instructor. This was my first jump and he really did a great job with easing my fears. He was very professional and paid great attention to safety & details. The check in process was easy and fast going. I chose the 18k ft jump for my first and perhaps my only jump ever. I figured I might as well go big or go home. It was amazing!! The adrenaline rush you get as you disembark from the airplane makes it so you don't even feel how cold it is up there. I wore a light jacket, long sleeve shirt and the jumpsuit. I wouldn't wear the jacket for future jumps. But I did have to keep reminding myself to breath! Also don't eat anything heavy the night before or the morning of. ;) I didn't eat any heavy meals but the butterflies in my tummy had me feeling queasy and quite bloated and uncomfortable. You don't want that bloated uncomfortable feeling. Also I expected a bit more of a jolt as the parachute went up but it was surprisingly a very smooth ride! Enjoy the adventure and bing for the video and pics. You won't regret it! Now I'm excited for my next jump!
We did the 13,000 jump for our son's 18th birthday. The crew was fabulous. Caden was his tandem partner. Our son absolutely loved the experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company
BEST TIME EVER! It was such an amazing experience skydiving - the thrill is like no other. Everybody seemed very nice when we got there and the staff is great. Randy was my instructor and he was very cool and a nice guy. I felt very safe and he seemed very experienced. The pictures and videos turned out great too! The only reason why I give 4 stars is because it was a bit rushed since everyone was already geared up and I was waiting for Randy. He gave me very quick instructions and we rushed to the plane as everyone was already sitting in the plane. It was my very first time so a little more instruction would be nice. But the plane ride was very reassuring and he was very conversational and keeping me updated with where we are and how high up we were and the whole process. I highly recommend and overall good vibes.
I was going JUST to gift my husband a skydiver trip and as we were completing the paperwork, the girl helping us explained to me that with the jump there is no "spinning, falling feeling, roller coaster feeling. It's completely peaceful and more calm than you would think." So, me hating roller coasters, was down after that! And she was 100000% right!! No falling feeling, roller coaster feel, no spinning, it was the most peaceful thing I've ever done. And I can't wait to go again. The instructor I was with was Zach and he said and explained everything at the perfect time in the perfect way I needed and it made the jump. I can't wait to take my son when he visits from USAF!!! You'll NOT regret going and hopefully you'll get Zach as your instructor. I still won't go on roller coasters lol. But I'll definitely be going back here again for another skydive memory.
The name of this place is a bit misleading. Skydive Santa Barbara is located at the Lompoc Airport, which is a 10 minute drive from the Pacific Ocean and about 45 minutes north of Santa Barbara off Highway 101. It's actually kind of far from Santa Barbara, and you can barely see the ocean on a clear day. You are definitely not overlooking the ocean. You're skydiving mostly over farm fields and the airport itself. Hence the 4. Nevertheless it's a nice place to go skydiving. I'm still alive to write this review!! =) The cost was $307, which included video and still shots. I also had a $20 student discount. The still shots came out pretty well, 50 pictures in all from another skydiver. The video is pretty good, short, edited well, you pick 2 songs to go with your jump. It took a little time for the marine layer to burn out. We were originally scheduled to jump at 9, but we didn't jump until 11:45, by then it was kind of clear and warm. Nice Socal weather! My tandem instructor was Soko. He's really nice, and has jumped since 1970. I felt pretty safe jumping with him. The only thing about him, was he has an accent, so it was a bit hard for me to understand him, I think he's Russian? I told him to go conservative (I get motion sickness), so he was very good about it, no spins or anything, my friend jumped after me, and she landed like 45 seconds before me! He's really good and he even taught me about steering the parachute and landing. Free-fall is about 50-60 seconds, it takes about 4 minutes to land after the chute is released. It takes about 10 minutes to fly up to jumping altitude. My advice to you: breathe through your nose! Also it's not as bad as I thought it would be. read more

Oh my gosh! This place is the best. I can't wait to return!!!! and jump from 18,000 feet. I drove out to Lompoc on Saturday with my Mom and son in tow. They hung out in the hangar as I prepared to jump out of a perfectly good plane 13,000 feet above ground. Time of my life! This is an extreme sport I'd love to do -over-and-over again, everywhere!!!! What a rush! I have watched my video so many times, just to relive that feeling in the plane as you approach the door to jump out! Everything went extremely smooth at Santa Barbara skydiving, from my initial phone call to ask about an appointment for Saturday to running late because I figured I'd take my Mom and son to Solvang for breakfast in case it was my last breakfast with them :) I called and since there was some fog in the morning they did not mind that I was running almost an hour late coming up from Los Angeles. I arrived, parked, went right in and they had me watching a video and signing a waiver within minutes. As soon as the video was over I receiving my "boarding pass" and met up with my Mom and son in the hangar. There were a bunch of couples, families, and groups of friends waiting to jump so I assumed I'd be waiting for a little while. Within a minute or two they were calling my name and I was putting on a purple jumpsuit, stepping into a harness and pretending I wasn't the least bit nervous, hahaha. I jumped tandem with Jack and he was really funny which probably took the edge off. He was cracking jokes the whole way up. I couldn't believe how fast we were out of that plane once reaching 13,000 feet. They rolled up the door and we were out within seconds. I can't wait to feel that feeling again - the first few seconds after you've left the plane are surreal, the free fall is crazy! not scary at all - and the relief that comes over you when your parachute has opened! Whew!!!! It's all tricks and smooth sailing from there. Perfect landing, light as a feather. I will definitely be back here to jump again - 18,000 feet!!! This is seriously fun stuff :) Next time I think I'll jump in a bikini! read more

Let me first start by saying I LOVE skydiving!!! Wow what a epic experience being so far up in the air, being free, not a care in the world. But also having the feeling of butterflies, with waves of emotions and adrenaline pounding through you. If you haven't tried it... what are you effing waiting for?? Now more then ever it's time to LIVE LIFE to its fullest! I'm first dive ever was here 20 years ago. Smaller staff, smaller plane, but great experience I still have the VHS tape with Fly away by Lenny Kravitz blaring in the background! It was the start of my love for the sport. But my jump today... WOW! From the start Betsy went above and beyond with her customer service. Chatting on the phone, booking the jump and overall helping us feel comfortable with the whole process. The whole staff is AHHHMAZING though. Those jump instructors are beast mode.. over and over efficiently and safely doing so many jumps we couldn't even count. They have so much enthusiasm to make every jump special and memorable. You couldn't help but get pumped for every new jumper. Today was my husbands first jump, he absolutely loved it. He found out there was an opening so he took the opportunity to jump again and I got to go too! Yippee I thought, this was my 7th and wow, how beautiful to experience it with your partner. It was my best jump so far at 18,000 feet. Never going lower. Thank you to everyone here. You really are a perfectly oiled machine. Everything was so smooth, so Covid clean and so safe. Been here twice. Both times I had a great time! first time I had the videographer jump with me to film everything, I would highly recommend that option over the go pro. The second time i did not bother filming because i had already done it. The second time the guy let me help control the parachute which was very cool! I will say though that the guy i jumped with the second time was somewhat innapropriate, i went with a large group of guys and girls and he made some slightly sexual remarks to myself and my friends which i did not appreciate considering i was going to have my body strapped to the guy. Overall they are very safe and professional but this one guy i would probably avoid if youre a female. I should also add that this is in Lompoc, not santa barbara. From UCSB it took me about an hour to get there. It is easy to find if you have a gps or something. make sure to go on a clear day and you get discounts if you are a student, military, or in groups. I did the 13k jump both times, it is worth the extra $20. read more

Went skydiving yesterday morning at 18000 ft! This was the best day ever!!!! Not only does the staff make you feel so comfortable, they are absolute pro's and love what they do! Their passion rubs off on you the first 5 minutes you hang out waiting in the hanger to take off. Thank you Skydive SB team for your warm welcome and giving all of us an incredible experience! Liberating and life changing! We will be back! Special thank you to my Amazing Instructor Morgan! And videographer Shawn! You guys rock and I couldn't have felt more safe or had more fun!!! read more

Just graduated? Ready to not enter the workforce? Gonna finally meet that Bumble guy you've been talking to for a while? Then do what I did and go skydiving for your first date! (Then proceed to get your first tattoo right after). First timer. I got Robbie as my instructor. Super cool dude. He makes sure you're prepared to jump out of the sky and tells you everything that's going to happen beforehand! Wasn't scared and felt very safe. Would definitely go again. read more

I really don't have anything to compare this place to, but I must say, that this place truly was worth every penny for me. My girlfriend surprised me for my birthday with a trip to Santa Barbara, and sky diving here... She had done it twice already (at this same place) and had heard me talking to my friend about doing it some time. We did a weekend trip, and had an absolute blast! We showed up with a scheduled jump, and we were disappointed to find out that after waiting about an hour, the pilot of the plane got sick and they were shutting down the jumps for the rest of the day... Which was a total bummer, but being proactive like we are, we immediately talked to the woman at the front desk who got our jump moved to the following morning. We came back the next day and everything went smoothly... We both jumped and paid to have our co-jumper strap a camera to his wrist... TOTALLY WORTH IT! We landed safely (thank God) and hopped in the truck back to the hanger. TIP: Be proactive and schedule your jump as early in the day as possible! They get backed up fast and stop jumping when the sun goes down... So jump early! Dress relatively warm, its cold up that high. Don't wear flip flops. Listen when your instructor talks... read more

For my 29th birthday, my roommate and I decided to go skydiving on Friday because.... wait for it...... it's on both of our bucket lists (surprise, right?!?) I've been waiting to go for FOREVERRRRR. In fact, I had had a date set up for it when I was 18 but it was cancelled due to horrible weather and, by the time we'd have gotten around to rescheduling, I had broken up with the man (I know, I know, you're probably asking me "why didn't you just wait until he took you skydiving to break up with him?" I still kick myself for it to this day! ;) ). Anywaysssss, I was super stoked to do it. When we came in, we were greeted right away and checked in pronto. Watched 2 short videos about how dangerous skydiving is and how they're not responsible if we are killed or injured. The blonde manager lady was super nice and helpful, as well as the other staff. When it was finally my turn to go up, I got Randy as my instructor. He's had over 9500 jumps so I knew I was in good hands. As the plane went up, the nerves started to kick in but the moment Randy kicked my ass out of the plane at 13,000 ft, I was just elated. Pure and utter exhilaration doesn't even seem to describe what I felt for those 5 minutes (about 1 minute of freefall and the rest on the parachute). I never wanted the feeling to end. My roommate had a similar experience and we were just on a high for the rest of the day, until we decided to go wine taste and got drunk. We then decided "LET'S DO IT AGAINNNN!". I mean, everyone goes once to check it off their bucket lists but who goes TWICE in 24 hrs?!? THESE CRAZY KIDS, apparently! We truly wanted to experience that high again before we left back to LA area so we booked another jump for Saturday. The 2nd jump is cheaper if you book within 7 days of your first jump. This time, I got Brendon. He's a big bear of a guy and a bunch of my friends thought he was hot when I showed them the pictures I got. lol. He was amazeballs and had been jumping for forever too so I had an amazing jump (even though I was hungover). Speaking of hangovers, I recommend - from personal experience now - DO NOT JUMP HUNGOVER! Especially with a wine hangover. While I wasn't nauseous during the jump, afterwards, I felt like I was going to hurl.. And I've heard of stories of people throwing up on their instructors. DON'T BE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE!!! It's NOT NICE! CONS: WAITING... Omg. I despise waiting but what can you do? There are only so many planes and so many instructors for everyone who's waiting. It just comes with the territory and, for the experience, I wouldn't deduct more than a star from it. You wait anywhere from 2-4 hours. Also, my friend had a shorter instructor for his second jump and they had a pretty hard landing and my friend fractured his tailbone (very small fracture). I refuse to deduct any more than 1 star from my review because I, personally, did NOT fracture anything. Only gained a new obsession with skydiving. My friend also knew that skydiving is dangerous and is also still taking steps to start going solo skydiving because he loved it so much, despite the injury. In a nutshell, I had THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVERRRRRRR!!! I want to go again and would most definitely come back here!! read more

I just went yesterday for my 30th birthday. We had to reschedule from Saturday due to high winds, and since we were driving from the Long Beach area, it would have been too much of a pain to reschedule for next month. Everybody was really cool, the prices were okay (or so I suppose, since this was a birthday gift from my boyfriend), and my tandem jumping buddy sang me happy birthday on the way down (which would have been cool if it could have been caught on video). There are only two little complaints I have: the wait (we got there at 10, jumped about two and a half hours later) and the fact that after the chute opens, the video guy films his own chute, not yours. It would be cool if we got to have our own descents filmed. All in all an amazing experience and I can't wait to go again! read more

We went skydiving to commemorate my husbands 60th and my 50th birthday. We chose Skydive Santa Barbara for the spectacular views and the ultimate experience of jumping from 18000 feet. Our jump masters Tim T and Mark L were the best. Totally professional and fun and funny. They took videos and interacted with us to make the whole experience comfortable and exciting. Every time I watch the video the moment of that first freefall comes rushing back and my heart skips a beat! And it was surprisingly affordable and worth every penny! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Everybody was courteous, friendly, It was clean and safe. Masks on, social distancing, etc. Well social distancing until you're attached to your instructor at least. My instructor was Krissy. Holy hell, if you don't get her, ask for her. SHE IS AMAZING!!!! This was my first jump so I opted to do the photo and video package. I thought I would get some cheesy helmet mounted GoPro video footage or some thing. Nope. She took over 200 photos for me and I got a professional grade video of my jump. She was friendly and warm and you feel immediately comfortable with her. You're physically attached to her so it's nice to feel comfortable. LOL. She went out of her way to make it special and make a really special video. I will remember this forever and how special she made it for me. If you were thinking about skydiving but on the fence, just do it. This was hands-down the best experience of my life. This will not be my last jump. The feeling is like nothing I've ever experienced. And I recommend the 18,000 foot gym. That extra 30 seconds of free fall time gives you time to have the "oh shit I just jumped out of a plane" adrenaline rush but then it also gives you time to relax a little and take a breath and just freaking enjoy it. I was on the fence between the 13,000 jump on the 18,000 foot jump and I'm so glad I went with 18,000 foot jump. I would not have had a chance to get to the point where I could sit back take a breath and enjoy. I did this on my last day of vacation before coming back to New York State. And I'm so glad I did. Just go there. Just do it. And ask for Krissy and tip her well when you're done. She's worth every penny. read more

The rush, the feeling, the excitement, the Hot guy strapped to me!!!! OCTOBER 16, 2011 How i will never forget that day... One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had! from the moment you step into this place everyone is nice, everything is organized, and professional!!! I couldn't ask for a better person then Josh to jump with! He was very comforting, knowledgeable and fun to be around. Did I mention totally cute?? Before the jump they had instructed us to keep our legs leveled with our body so we didnt move around too much, when stopping to put both feet on the ground at the same time to stop! well here is what Josh did "Locked his legs with mine so I didn't have to worry about my body and just enjoy the jump, when stopping he told me to keep my legs up and he would do the stopping" totally worked, I was the only one out of the group of 12 who didnt fall flat on the ground! THANKS JOSH!!! I had told him about my shoulder injury and he totally was making sure my shoulder was in the perfect position so it wouldn't hurt!!! =] The pictures and video came out perfect! I was Hyped up after the jump for 2 weeks!!!!!! I CANT WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN!!!! and AGAIN.... AND AGAIN!!!!! Flying chicken! Check-in, watch 2 quick videos, sign your life away, ready to go! If you're waiting for your plane to take off, they have a foosball table and 2x4 Jenga set to keep you entertained. Awesome experience at this location! Did a tandem jump with Paul at 18,000ft! Totally recommend the 18k jump! He was such a cool guy and was very instructive. I told him I was an adrenaline junkie and he threw in all the turns and drops he could! Would definitely recommend him! Awesome footage. I requested the raw footage and they had no problem including it on a nice 4GB USB stick. All the staff was very helpful and smiling. I did my jump in a full chicken wing suit and they were all cool with it! Bucket list experience for sure. Had another seasoned group of solo jumpers with me on the ride up and they made the experience even better. You've got to experience the culture of sky diving from inside the plane! It's more extreme than Mountain Dew and Bald Eagles. Recommend an early jump time and dress warm for any 18k jump during the winter months. It can get -degrees up there. Overall great experience! There is honestly no other place I would have chosen for my first jump. I had Sarah as my instructor and I'm so thankful I did. She made me feel very comfortable and ready to conquer the 13,000ft drop. All of the other staff members were incredibly friendly and had me laughing the entire time I was around them. To our instructors: Mark & Ed you guys were fucking amazing! This was definitely "AIRGASMIC!" BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE! There are no words adequate enough to explain the feeling of free falling at 1300+ ft...All of the staff here were super friendly and awesome from the initial phone call to riding back to the hanger after the jump. Such an incredible experience and we cannot wait to come back and jump again. read more

I think the funniest thing about this whole experience with Skydive is the fact that I was the most pumped out of my whole group, but once on the plane going up I was shitting my pants the most... Skydiving is such an amazing experience that EVERYONE should try once. I swear I had an epiphany when I jumped off that plane. It was thrilling and something to put in the books definitely! I booked my groups jump probably a month before and I made a mistake of accidentally paying the WHOLE transaction rather than just the deposit fee, luckily I emailed them and they told me to call them about the refund and soon enough once I called Jess took care of me and she refunded the rest of the money back onto my card which was amazing! Our appointment was 10AM but my party arrived 9:30AM just because we didn't want to hit traffic. We literally signed our lives away... and watched an informational video about the whole procedure and what can happen during the whole process. They are not reliable if you die.. *SIGNED. No.Big.Deal. I purchased the 13K jump along with the Pictures and Video, luckily I had the student discount which helped a lot! woohoo! We waited about an hour before we could jump, and seriously I thought I was the most excited but I was slightly shitting myself. My instructor, Jeremy was amazing!! He made me feel extra happy because he was very outgoing and did not make me feel nervous at all! The jump is something you would have to experience it yourself (or just look at my photos and everyone elses and see how it is.) The negative side of the whole thing is that Jeremy did not know how to record.. LOL. Seriously! The video would've been awesome if we got more scenery and sky but he really got up in my face and its hard finding a pretty facebook picture ya know? Oh wells! I'm not tripping about anyways! I still had a fun time! 4 Stars because this is something EVERYONE should experience once in their life! Have Fun and Good Luck! read more

Holy F what a euphoria. Freaked out because you have to sign a death liability waive form lol so if you die.. It's not their fault. The wait felt long. The fly up was nerve racking. I was the last to jump.. And it was insane!! I screamed the whole way down because I felt like I couldn't breathe. Your body turns and you see your airplane fly away. But the view when your parachute opens is so beautiful. Wear a long sleeve!! I would do this again! They gave a discount coupon for your next jump after ur dive. Is skydiving suit provided?
They do have them, but it really isn't necessary. I jumped in jeans. My son jumped in shorts. It's a little chilly when you first leave the plane, but it's not cold.
What is the weight limit? I'm about 260 maybe a little less, I know some places charge extra asking before I book!
We charge $1 for every pound over 200lbs, also we charge an extra $35 for Tandem jumpers over 230lbs. Let's say you weigh 260lbs then you would be charged an extra $95, if we could take you.…
Can a group of 7 jump from 18000ft from the same plane?
It depends how many Skydiving instructors working that day. Normally on weekends we have 7-10 Instructors working, so yes on weekends you could be all in one plane load.…
