As one of our company's team building events, we came here from Santa Barbara to play paintball. It was extremely fun and it allowed me to get to know my fellow coworkers more. We came around 11am and were the only people there for about two hours until a few other people came. There were two fields: a larger one, and a smaller private one. If you ask, they can also order pizzas for you and have it delivered to the field. The overall experience was great. We came with a group of about 20 people so the pricing was cheaper. I wouldn't want to go with smaller groups though because it can get pricey to have the experience that we did - (gear, paint, rentals, food, drinks) which came out to be about $40/person. read more

Horrendous service... wasn't asked ONCE if I needed help with anything in the 20 mins I was there. The store is small and kind of unkempt. Paintball gear is grossly overpriced. Makes me wonder if they realize who their biggest competitor is: ever heard of the internet? You know... that place with lower prices, no tax and free shipping? I was really hoping to shop locally and keep my money in the community, but this place made the drive to SB for shopping all the more pleasant. In-A-Nutshell? Came here to get geared up for a company paintball match this weekend and I'm happy I discovered it. They had great deals on everything from helmets to clothes and it all looks sick. When I pull up to the field in my new gear, I already know everyones gonna be intimidated to the max. read more

Pretty cool place. They have a lot of clothing, stickers, sun glasses, wallets, some purses and even scrubs. I really like shopping here.

Fun place to hang with friends. Staffing needs to be built up a little more and it would be nice to have more fields. They offer rentals which is a plus. Its not required but they dont sell much (even at their Lompoc store). read more

I love this field, it is close to home and the staff are always cool. David is the man. We rented the whole field yeterday and played for 7 hours. I will definitely be back and so will my friends. If anyone doesn't like this field or the staff it probably means YOU are an asshole. read more

One of the refs claimed that I "talked back" and that I was "disrespecting". So the very mature ref goes ahead and starts cussing at me and giving all this stuff and going off on me(note the sarcasm). So I acted mature and just said "ok" and walked off the field. Note I am 15, and she looked about 43. So next game she walks onto the field in a private party and says that she is going to play but she is not going to be on my team and she wants to go against me. So obviously she wants to try and hurt me. So I nicely offer her to play and I would sit out. So she was actually reasonable for once in her life and said that it is my party and she won't play. So the she walks off. So then there was the last game and it was a big game. I was purposely put on the opposite team of her. So I get hit by another paintball and I call myself and my hand and gun was in the air and I yelled "I'm out!"So this ref decides to shoot me as I was walking to the dead box(witch is where you go when your out), and numerous people saw it. Also afterwards she was looking at me as I walked off the field. So I did the normal thing to do and went to the manager, which happens to be her grandma. So I tell her that she cussed at me and also shot me after I was out. So the ref lies right to my face, even my dad saw her shoot me, and her grandma sided with her. All because I "back talked" her. So all of her fellow refs start gaining up on me asking a 15 year if there is a problem. They were all walking up to me like they were going to beat me up. I had many witnesses and they still backed up the ref. Note that all these other refs are probably doing nothing with there lives at over 50 years old, besides yelling at innocent kids who was just trying to play paintball. So I walked off, very disappointed with the horrible staff at The Shack Paintball Field in Santa Maria, California. read more

Really fun time at this family owned facility. The staff was helpful and the field engaging. A bit pricey when all was said and done even with the Groupon rate. ~30 dollars a person for 2 hours. read more
