I went. I jumped. It was awesome. NOTES: 1) There is a VERY short prep time where they don't make you feel ANY better about what your going to do hahahaha....wait...what are we supposed to do when we're up there??? 2) I would always vote to do tandem if its your first time. Why not leave the technical stuff to the professionals and just enjoy BEING SCARED :) 3) If you can splurge, get the video, so after the fact you can rewatch it with friends and family as your face ripples and flaps, and the screams of terror escape from your body. P.S. Sometimes they'll do extra twirls and tricks up in the air if you ask them :) read more

I had my first skydiving experience with these folks and it was AWESOME! I was actually very pleasantly surprised that the process went very fast beforehand. Online and when you call to make your reservation they forewarn that there is an hour long training before the jump so expect to spend 3-4 hours at the facility for a tandem jump. The paperwork takes 10 minutes and the hour long training took 5 minutes. Once you're suited up though it takes about 45 minutes to get on the plane, reach your altitude and land. They keep groups together and put them in a plane with single jumpers. This was nice as my group was only 2 people, so we were the only tandems on a plane full of folks. I was the last one off the plane and it was a little nerving as my instructor and the pilot of the plane were having some heated words just before we jumped. Not the best feeling to have on your first jump (when you're instructor doesn't even want to jump!). At any rate, it was just some personal pet peeves of my instructor that were being tested as it was kind of a windy morning and he wanted to make sure we would be able to land in the drop zone. BUT. Aside from the hairy entrance into my freefall, this was an awesome experience and I can't wait to do it again. Fuel prices have definitely driven their prices up, so it's not priced to do as often as I would love, but not high enough to keep me away :) read more

I tried bungee jumping the day before and after I got suited up, I had to back out, it was by far the scariest thing ever.... SKYDIVING IS NOTHING LIKE BUNGEE JUMPING and SKYDIVE OREGON was awesome!! (note the TWO exclamation points!! ha.) After you initial and sign your life away and practically embed in your brain that 'you will NOT sue' them for anything ... you go through a quick training in a small room with a group of 12 or so people, where you awkwardly practice the 'banana', which is the pose you're supposed to be in when you're free falling. But really, will you really remember that 3 hours later? After all that, which is about 45 minutes at most, you are expected to wait .. wait in anticipation, wait to scream, wait to get geared up, wait to pee your pants, wait to get your balls squished together, wait to just ... experience jumping/falling out of a moving airplane at 13,000 feet. I jumped ... and it was by far the most amazing experience ever. I can't shut up about it. My instructor was Cliff, big macho guy, he had ~14,000 jumps under his belt. He was a little iffy at the beginning, while other instructors were telling my friends what to expect, he stood alone and just chilled out... but looking back, it was a good thing because I probably wouldn't have remembered anything he told me minutes before boarding the small plane. Thanks Cliff and Skydive Oregon for an amazing unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this location if you are doing your first jump! I also recommend reservations if you know that it's going to be a nice weekend. Even with reservations, it took about 4 hours, so bring some cards or a football to make the time pass by quicker... SO worth the wait though. read more

I had my first ever skydive at Skydive Oregon last week, and the entire experience was impeccable from start to finish!! The staff and instructors are so warm and make the experience so fun - my nerves never really arrived!! I felt safe and aware of the whole process as we went, and nothing compares to that moment of taking the leap! So glad I got the photo/video package too :) I jumped with Zac and he was amazing, would definitely go with him again!! Thank you all for the *best* birthday! read more

I had a great experience, this was my first dive and it was great! A lot less scary than I expected, you get to deal with great staff, you feel safe at all times, and it was just amazing. Definitely recommend coming here for skydiving, this was my first time and definitely not my last. I would also definitely recommend getting the video, sure it cost quite a bit, but it is worth it. read more

Took my wife here as a complete surprise for her birthday. Yes, it can be a bit pricey especially if you opt for the video and pictures, but you figure what the hell. It's a lasting memory of something most people are afraid to do. Video turned out great and my wife had a complete blast. Highly recommend this place! read more

5 stars all the way! Skydive Oregon has beautiful facilities, with an amazing areal view of Oregon's breathtaking landscape, some of the nicest planes in the industry and equipment that is maintained to the highest of industry standards. With a professional, friendly staff to boot, you can't go wrong here! I did my first jump here, and several more subsequent jumps. THIS is the place I take my freinds, mom and grandma to because I know they will be well taken care of. read more

My daughter and I did our first jump ever last week. This could not have been a better experience. From start to finish; from booking to completing the jump. This business is so professional. My tandem instructor was Derek; my daughter had Leonard. We really appreciated the fact that not only did they strive to make sure we were well informed of what to expect and make sure we safe, but they did so in a fun and calm manner. I also REALLY appreciated Derek including my daughter on my video as much as possible. This was literally the most incredible thing I have ever done. We are definitely planning to go back next summer. This time we will be taking a large group. THANK YOU SKYDIVE OREGON. read more

I went skydiving with these guys for the first time with my friend while visiting Oregon. Turtle was my tandem instructor and my friend had Matt. Both guys were incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and a lot of fun. I totally hate heights and Turtle made me feel 150% safe and kept me laughing. The front of staff was beyond nice too! Also the views of the cascades were incredible - I recommend going on a clear day! The whole process from check in, to training, to jumping went so smoothly. Prices seemed fair and ($200/person - I would question anything much less anyways) the experience was well worth it. I would absolutely jump again with Skydive Oregon. read more

Wow! This is my second tandem jump, but first time at Skydive Oregon - and this place by far blew my first experience out of the water (which I also rated 5 stars on Yelp). As someone completely new to jumping out of planes, I would highly recommend Skydive Oregon to anyone thinking about making that first jump. Everything about them is professional, organized, and incredibly fun and friendly! I hate to even call out my tandem guide, Brett, because no doubt every instructor here is fantastic and you won't go wrong. However, if Brett ever reads this -- thank you so much for jumping with me and making it such a great day! And to Josiah (sp?) - thanks for the incredible footage and capturing the moment perfectly for me! I edited the video together immediately after getting home, and have probably already watched it now at least 2 dozen times! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7r6RoGMQJqQ To first time jumpers - just do it!!!! Update 8/11/16: So, I went back about two weeks ago, and this time dragged a friend with me to jump too. My second experience at Skydive Oregon was as amazing as the first. Everyone here is fantastic - thank you!! read more

OMG amazing, incredible, awesome experience. My friend Paul and I did our first of hopefully many jumps. The training was perfect. Our parachute commanders Trevor with Paul and Derrick for me were experienced, enjoyable and made our jump an amazing experience. I highly recommend this organization to anyone who wants an experience of a lifetime. It is an addictive adventure. I only regret that I did not have more cash to tip our commanders. They made this dive a fantastic adventure. read more

What a great place! I was with Matt and my wife was with Turtle - both of the pros were outstanding. They made us feel quite comfortable and were a lot of fun while maintaining the utmost professional demeanor. We felt very safe in their hands. The entire place was great - the rest of the staff did a great job walking us through the steps. Also top marks for the wait time: it was much less than we were expecting; the place runs very efficiently. Overall a great experience; one we will never forget! read more

I took my dad here for an early birthday gift and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience! The staff was very friendly and professional. Turtle was my personal skydive instructor. He was very sweet and made me feel 100% safe and comfortable throughout the whole process! I would absolutely recommend anyone to go here. You will not be disappointed :) Thanks again! I'll be back! read more

Such an awesome place! My fiancé and I have been there twice now. I jumped with rich and he was great! He really made the experience memorable. My fiancé jumped with turtle, who was awesome as well. They knew exactly how to to make it a fun experience while also calming nerves. We weren't sure that we'd be able to jump at all because of the wildfire smoke, but they definitely made every attempt to make it happen. They warned us that we may not be able to go to the full 13k feet jump altitude because of the smoke but they made it happen! Great place!! read more

My wife (best wife ever!), for my birthday, treated me to my first ever tandem skydive jump on October 28th. She chose Skydive Oregon and I (and her) couldn't be happier with the experience. She got the photo/video package for my jump and my jump instructor, Josiah, was excellent in all aspects of the experience. He got my wife and two kids involved with an introductory video before he and I staged and boarded the aircraft. He took plenty of photos and videos of the experience (in the aircraft on takeoff and ascent, prepping for the jump and, of course, throughout the course of the jump itself). The whole experience was a blast - I had a morning jump which made me smile the rest of the day. And it must have been good experience for my wife as well as she now wants to go on her first jump. And I know I will be going back as well. Thank you Josiah and the rest of the crew at Skydive Oregon for a birthday gift I will cherish for the rest of my life! If you are thinking about going skydiving, I highly recommend going with Skydive Oregon. read more

I was absolutely terrified to skydive. I cried my eyes out the day before just by watching a video. I mustard up the strength to at least show up and that alone took away most of my anxiety. They got us right in, signed all the waivers, took us through our training and up we went. The reality of it is much more enjoyable when you see people floating down from the sky every 10 minutes. They are enjoying themselves, which makes you feel at ease. The dropped stomach feeling when you free fall?? Yup, that doesn't exist. I went with 5 other friends and we were all so surprised that we didn't feel like loss of control free falling feeling. I guess it has to do with the free fall of 120MPH. It just feels like a heck of a lot of wind blowing at you, like you stuck your head out of the car while driving on the freeway. When asked if I would do it again, I would. Not because I love to skydive, but because from being so scared one day, to the amount of joy and fun it ended up being, that alone is worth saying I would do it again. I truly felt very safe at skydive oregon. read more

I went here for my first time ever skydiving with my wife for our anniversary and Terry took me up. He was absolutely amazing!! He talked me through my nervousness and made me feel very comfortable. Ask for him, he was the best. My wife's guide was the exact opposite. We paid the extra 100 bucks for video and photos and it was soooooo not worth the money!!! A couple good still photos and 3 fifteen second videos where you can kind of see my wife. Don't do it. It's a rip off. After terry pulled out our chute he had me stand on his feet to re-adjust my straps so the didn't dig into my chest. My wife's guy didn't do that and she was in extreme pain the whole time and just wanted to hurry up and get down. In short, 5 bright gold stars for terry!!! My wife's guide and the photo/video package 1 star so an average of 2. read more

Took my mom to Skydive Oregon for her first skydive and my second. The ground staff were friendly and informative. I purchased a video for my mom, which turned out great with footage and still shots that we got to have on an SD card and can edit ourselves. My mom tandemed with Doug, who was very informative, friendly, helpful, and fun. He made sure she was laughing and ready for her jump. Kudos to Doug for going above and beyond what was required. Unfortunately, I was matched up with Archie. He seemed to be completely over the fun of jumping out of a plane, and barely talked to me. He was grimudgenly and seemed pained by the idea of strapping yet another person to his chest. My mom jumped first and Archie and I were last out of the plane. Somehow we were on the ground before her and I felt like he curtailed my flight down once the chute was open. Perhaps there was some safety reason for it, but that combined with his poor attitude left me feeling short changed. I would definitely jump with Skydive Oregon again, but I would request someone other than Archie. When you spend so much money on a few short minutes, it's important to enjoy the entire experience. read more

I did my first tandem on my 30th birthday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MJ5nG8hTLU The entire staff was great. When I called up to get some information on skydiving the person I talked to on the phone was so excited about skydiving she had me wanting to jump right then. My instructor was amazing, when we got under canopy I was screaming to him how much fun this was and he just laughed and said, "he knew and this was his job ". That first jump inspired me to get my license to skydive and to become an instructor. I have been skydiving here at Skydive Oregon for the past 16 years. This place has the absolute best planes, gear with the most safety oriented and experienced staff I have ever seen. Oh and the view of the Pacific Northwest is breath taking from 13000 feet. read more

Twice I've been turned away for weight limit. I'm 6'3" and way an ATHLETIC 235. They would not budge & kept the $50 deposit. I understand there are reasons behind rules/policies, but come on. A case by case basis would be more logical. So I found a place called Skydive Toledo which is about 1.5 hrs north of Portland that will allow me to tandem no problem. Already locked in reservations for this Tuesday. Why couldn't the staff at Skydive Oregon pass along this info? There are only a handful of drop zones in the Oregon/Washington area. Don't waste your time or money here. The front desk staff young & unprofessional. read more

This place was great! All the instructors know what they're doing, have jumped over 1,000 times. All around a great experience. The landing couldn't have been smoother. I did my first two tandem jumps at Skydive Oregon two years ago. It was such an amazing experience that I decided then and there to go for my license to jump solo. I'm now at just over 180 jumps and approaching my "C" license. About 170 of those jumps have been at Skydive Oregon. I can't recommend this organization enough. They are such very professional and caring people. Safety always comes first. They're tandem instructors are the best. I've brought close friends there for their first jumps, I trust them so much. What an amazing experience! Thank you Skydive Oregon. The whole process from start to finish was superb. I made a group reservation and the staff were extremely helpful and flexible. We added more people without any problems and they were very informative of what to bring and expect. (The four hour time window) The instructors are fun, smiling and make you feel really comfortable. The training was quick and easy and we were in the plane before I knew it. My instructor decided to wait to give me detailed steps of what I was going to do until we were in the plane and about 1 minute from jumping. That worked really well for me. I was just enjoying the stunning views of every mountain you can possibly see. I don't really remember leaving the plane it went so fast, but the freefall I will never forget. Just incredible! I got to man the toggles and steer us into some fun spins. The landing was smooth and easy. Already one day later, the details of the jump are fuzzy. I would highly recommend the video if I went again. I will definitely go again. It was worth every penny. What an experience! Thanks again! read more
