Did my second jump at this location and the experience was just as great as the first time. Used a Groupon and their online booking with this was smooth. We did our waivers ahead of time, checked in quickly. After a short wait we got our harnesses on, a very quick run down of rules and what to expect and then we were off to the plane. There were only 4 of us tandem jumpers and a few solo jumpers. Everyone was friendly and seemed very experienced. Only complaint is the video, $125, could have been longer and edited better, there were some clips that were taken out that we would have wanted included. Looking forward to coming back again in the future although we would probably skip the video portion next time. read more

I first found out about Skydive Kapowsin through Groupon. They had a discount on there, and I thought it was a calling for me to overcome one of my fears. After booking a date and time for my skydiving appointment, I excitedly waited for the day to come. Arriving there, I had to do some paperwork, which could be completed prior to coming (I didn't know that at the time). After that, I was brought into the equipment area and introduced to my skydiving partner, Andy, and my photographer, Tony. They made me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire experience, which I really appreciated. We got our gear on and hopped into the plane in less than 10 minutes. Next thing you know, we were in the sky! The actual skydiving portion only lasted a few minutes, but felt longer (in a good way). I was so breath taken by the beautiful views. You could see the Seattle skyline, Mount Rainier, and Mount Baker from the sky! Also, I'm really happy I paid extra for the picture and video package. They captured the moments perfectly. 13,500 feet is high, but 18,500 feet is amazing. The experience lasts longer and is worth every dollar. At that altitude, this time of the year, it was like jumping into an ice cold pool. Hey everyone so I jumped out of a plane with some co-workers my second jump it was their first on Sunday June 28th and simply amazing from the time we got there I believe the lady's name is Jen or Jenna an older woman with blond hair she gave us so many helpful tips that made our experience fantastic on to Tom who was my tandem jumper experience jumper he also gave me tips on what to expect when I got in the plane just before the jump although I'm not going to lie I forgot all the tips people so please pay attention and don't forget the tips and such as taking a deep breath before you jump out of the plane which I failed to do and resting your head back on the experience jumpers chest before you jump out of the plane. Once we jumped Tom showed me the view twirling offering me to drive, but I'm still not comfortable driving the parachute Tom continue to check in to see if I was comfortable every step of the way including in air all the way down to the smooth landing, I did pay attention to how the land that's why it was smooth lol. I skydived years ago in the experience was not as good as it was with this company!!! Let me not forget the cameraman Nico who SHOT MY video he was very friendly and made sure he tried to get to know I guess my attitude so he could put in the right type of music on my video I would definitely skydive with KAPOWSIN again!!! PLENTY OF PARKING AND THERE IS A RESTAURANT NEARBY!! AND THE DRIVE WAS NICE and enjoyable WE DROVE FROM SEATTLE DRIVING TIME ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF...DONT BE LATE! I am a student jumper working on my A license with twenty jumps total, six of them at SDK. Upon entering the facility The staff is friendly and attentive. Manifest is simple and easy only a few clicks and you're ready to go. The facility itself is clean and has plenty of seating for you or your loved ones to sit on between loads. The coaches are safety conscious and thorough making sure your gear is safe and ensuring you fully understand the dive before entering the aircraft. Instructors have no problem spending extra time to clear up any questions. All of the patrons and members of staff have been friendly. The overall vibe of the place is comfortable and fun. In closing, Skydive Kapowsin is hands down the best skydive drop zone I've ever been to. What an unforgettable experience! This place is great. We enjoyed our time here from start to finish. My husband and I came for our first jump as it is the home drop zone for a good friend. The whole thing was very simple and straight forward! They got us geared up, told us what was going to happen, took us 13,000 ft up and we jumped! My friends and I went and had SUCH a great time! Making a reservation was super easy, and the staff was very nice and accommodating. The inside of the building is basically a playground! We went a few days ago and the weather was perfect...we could see everything so clearly when we jumped! I had Josh as my instructor for the tandem jump and he was incredible. Seriously, if you have the option, go with him. My first tandem jump was June 12. A birthday present from friends who called my bluff/granted my wish. I had chickened out years ago when my sister jumped at Snohomish, and had been kicking myself in the butt for years. The day came for the jump, and I was joined by the friend who bought the jump for me. He had gone last year, and had been looking for an excuse to do it again. Enter...ME! I was a little apprehensive, but strangely calm as I suited up. I had the added benefit of the photo/video package -- this is HIGHLY recommended for anyone who decides to do this! You will regret not having the photo and video memories to share with your family and friends! I even purchased my own helmet cam for the jump, so I could have my own perspective (and see what I missed while my eyes were closed!). For a tandem jump, you are essentially along for the ride. It takes a few minutes to get suited and harnessed, and then you get a brief explanation of how you are connected, and what NOT to do (NEVER reach behind you!) while in the air. Everyone I saw that day seemed to have a perma-grin on their face, and the energy level was HIGH. We climbed aboard the turboprop Otter, and ascended to 13000 feet. As I was a tandem, I was first on the plane (which meant I would be the last off!). When we reached altitude, and the door at the rear of the airplane opened, I knew there was no turning back. I was still very calm - call it sensory overload! We slid down the bench seats to the doorway, and my photographer hung just outside the door while my instructor and I got situated. The instructor guided my hands from the bar to my harness...counted to 3, and with one last big breath (and silent prayer to myself) out we went, in to the wild blue yonder. As "they" say, "if you haven't done it, you wouldn't understand". The feeling was one of instant, intense fear, followed by extreme calm, once you realize..."Hey, I'm FLYING!" While in freefall, you can't hear anything but the incredible rush of wind as you are plummeting earthward at terminal velocity. The feeling is maybe comparable to sticking your hand out the sunroof while driving down the freeway - only it's the wind resistance against your WHOLE BODY, and at twice the speed. There is absolutely NO WAY to talk in freefall, unlike Hollywood likes to lead you to believe. Everything is hand signals and taps on the shoulder. The photographer is literally in your face...about 10 feet or so away, falling with you and snapping photos the whole time. If I could include MY footage here, you'd see for yourself how cool that really is! After 60 seconds, I felt three taps on my shoulder - the signal that it was time to deploy the chute. I grabbed my harness, and felt a decent tug as the chute opened and filled with air. Then, after letting loose with a loud cheer/yell of relief, things become incredibly calm and quiet, much like a library (or a morgue!), and your brain begins to catch up with your body. The sensation of being 5000 feet above the surface of the Earth and soaking in the incredible views is beyond compare. It takes roughly 7 minutes to reach the ground, and during this time, the harness is loosened a bit for comfort, and you can begin to take in the incredible beauty that surrounds us! We elected for a "butt slide" landing. This was also an incredibly easy and soft landing. The zone is specially designed..soft soil and soft grass...by the time you realize you've landed, you're being helped to your feet, and the ride of your life is over! I remember the first thing I said after landing - "I wanna do that again!" And...I have! I went back on Sept 13, this time, taking two other friends with me who had heard my story, and seen the video and pictures. They were just as excited and nervous as I was my first time, and like me, they both said the same thing upon their landing! The staff at Kapowsin are an incredible bunch of people. You can tell they enjoy their "job".....and they all have YEARS of experience. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, answer all of your questions, and point out landmarks, etc, while airborne. I don't really consider myself an adrenaline junkie, but I am seriously considering taking the certification courses, and becoming a solo diver. It is an extreme sport, filled with a heavy dose of risk, but statistically speaking, it i safer than the drive to the place! I was cut off FOUR times on the freeway there and back! Everyone says they have a "bucket list", and they would like to "try" skydiving....from someone who has done it twice (and will do it MORE!), I say; stop thinking about it and JUST DO IT! You'll have a great story for the Monday morning watercooler/coffee stand talk! Plus, for you guys, it's a great way to meet women! You'd be surprised how many HOT women are skydivers! Survived my first tandem jump! I lucked out with the 50/50 weather and did a 13k jump with only 2 others on the plane. The staff is friendly, professional, and thorough with explaining what to do and expect; from check-in, to suiting up, and landing. Second time at Kapowsin this past weekend and still love this spot. The instructors you're paired with are terribly nice, easygoing and explain everything to you. Regardless, the check-in/suit-up process is relatively fast. I feel safe with them for sure. They treated my mom, a first timer, really well too. I got her the video package and had no idea it would be more than just a GoPro on her instructor's wrist; they deploy additional jumper camera crew to capture the entire thing. My first tandem jump today. I went with Dennis. Super fun. Very friendly staff. We initially had trouble with the weather but things cleared up by afternoon. The staff explained everything. They have some very experienced jumpers. My tip to you is expect to spend all day here. Weather can be unpredictable. Reserving you jump time in the afternoon might not be a bad idea. The Sun should have burned up most of the fog and or clouds. My sister bought the video. It was well done. We would also recommend. read more
