This skydiving experience was organized by my husband as a birthday activity for my 47th. I had the utter privilege of jumping with none other than the legendary "Pancake", who very nonchalantly told me that he has made more than 20,000 such iconic falls! This was my first attempt and I think it was good for a height-phobic person like me to not have the option of standing on a separate ledge and deliberately jump. In the plane here, you kind of just tip over the edge, and that has to be initiated (thankfully) by your tandem instructor. Those 60 seconds of free falling were the longest of my life, I couldn't wait for the parachute to open. My heart was in my throat, I was wriggling like a cockroach, and I couldn't breathe because of the air pressure assaulting my face. CAUTION TO THOSE WITH PELVIC PAIN: as soon as the parachute opens, the pelvic harness tightens up considerably as you're basically vertical, being completely supported by the harness. You're "hanging by a thread (aka harness)". Think about how that would affect you during and after the activity, since I was in pain hanging vertically in the air. It made it tough to enjoy the slow gliding in such a beautiful weather. Pancake advised that I try and reposition myself so as to almost sit within the harness but I couldn't manage that. The staff is nothing but incredible, they ensure as much safety as possible, and the environment is so Hollywood-y with these sporty gals and guys preparing to jump one after the other from the plane. You can't help but feel the thrill of being surrounded by adventurers. I would like the option of a face shield and/or helmet for tandem jumpers like us so we can enjoy that free fall sensation without struggling to breathe. This was a great experience. Season ends Oct 31st, hurry up and schedule your jump. Staff was very friendly and comforting. Once you arrive, you check-in, watch an intro video, sign your life away and then wait. While waiting we watched other tandem and single jumps and snapped plenty of photos. It was a beautiful day, the sun was out and it was about 67 degrees (I came layered and had no issues) We scheduled our jump for 2:00 pm and waited about 30-45 minutes before we jumped. When we were called up to start getting ready, we met Louis, Cody who were our tandem jumpers and who helped suite us up and give final instructions before departing. Christine was the videographer and he was the best. He was friendly, funny and definitely kept us calm. Cody and Louis were amazing and while in the air we were able to do flips and they pointed out Philadelphia, AC and on a clear day you can see part of NY. Up in the sky it was so beautiful, it was so peaceful. My ears were popping, my hands were cold (they did offer gloves while suiting up but I declined after being told it 10-15 degrees colder in the sky) and they provide you with goggles. You can also buy gloves and glasses while there. After you land and get all the smiles out and pat yourself on the back for actually not bailing, you're given a certificate and jump book to record your jumps and helps you record future jumps if you intend of getting licensed. Cody, Louis and Christine were very professional and helped ease our nerves while there. Everyone there was nice, just overall good vibes from everyone. People checked in with us to make sure we were okay which was very comforting. Great experience everyone should try at least once **only felt sick while we were flipping but once he stopped I felt fine**. They do ask if you'd like to flip and they do give you ques while in the air to remind you about your arms, head and feet, especially when landing. You and your jump are able to communicate perfectly while in the air. read more

Wait was long over 4 hours but hands down had the best dynamic duo crew for my jump and video, everyone couldn't stop talking about it ! Had a blast! Oh and did I know I was skydive that day? Not a clue, husband tricked me thinking I was gonna go on a hike and help surprise his friends for a proposal... Pros: This was my first skydiving experience and thoroughly love the jump. The photos and video package is worth it as we got a really cool video out of it. Most of the staff were very friendly. We scheduled our jump and the Wait time on reaching the place was not a lot. Cons: My tandem jump guide, Range (his name) reeked of cigarettes the whole time and this made the experience unpleasant. This was my first real skydiving experience and I'm glad I did it here! It's a really cool place, even just to hang out. There's a food truck there on the weekends that's actually super yummy. We walked in with no reservation on a saturday and waited maybe about an hour. All the staff are super friendly and make it an enjoyable experience. This experience was beyond AMAZING. My instructor pancake was great, informative and I felt safe even at the moments I thought I was not going to get off the plane once I got up in the air. Once we jumped it was perfect and I smiled all the the way down if not laughing. I reccomend the 7 am time because it was lovely. After what was a shit year 2020 was able to head here to finally dive after wanting to go for 2 decades plus. Always put it off cos oh I couldn't find anyone to go with. Dumb cos once I got there I realized I wasn't the only one. Easy set up and friendly staff. I almost thought bout pushing it til 2021 since once you buy your ticket it never expires. You go when you when you're ready. I missed my name call at first cos was distracted watching others jumping. Then met up at the main target to meet the other 3 ppl that would go thru dry rub with to get handle on how to jump, fly and land. Guy that gave us the tutorial was pancake. Easy going with good directions. The other 3 in this group all of us were first time jumpers. Got the package for the footage and you have quick pre jump segment and one after and he gets the jump footage for around $340? I forget but was great time and I'm ready to go again! This place is great! I started by booking online, and getting a student discount. The only downside was that the student discount only applies on weekdays so my sister that works on weekdays couldn't come. Upon arrival, they make you sign a bunch of waivers and watch a video outlining all of the risks and dangers, which was a little unsettling at first, but once I met the workers, I was excited again. All of the employees are super nice and the ones that I met seemed appropriately confident. One employee demonstrated the appropriate steps, and got us into our harnesses, then gave us goggles and a face over to wear in the plane, but slide down when we jumped out. There was some free time between getting the harness and getting in the plane, so the videographers came and did a preflight interview and got some pictures. There were also a couple of puppies roaming around with some friendly people that let me pet them while I was waiting and that was a fun bonus! I did tandem skydiving with Nico who was really cool, and Tim was my videographer who was also very nice! They both had super fun energy and made the experience even better. The photo and video package was a great idea for my first jump. It was a bit expensive so I'm not sure if I would get it again, but it was definitely nice to capture the experience of my first jump, and the video was nicely edited and the photos all came out great. After we landed, I received a Tandem Jump Certificate and a few discount coupons to come back. I would love to skydive at Skydive Crosskeys again soon! read more

I'd just like to say that the staff was fantastic and they all have a very mellow attitude, which is ideal when you're dealing with people trying something like skydiving for the first time. The laid-back attitude is complimented by a confidence and professionalism that puts you at ease. They are great at what they do, which is make people's experience of jumping out of an airplane an exhilarating and yet safe experience. I can't wait to go back. Sure enough!! With-in a week of the last Jump, my daughter decided she wanted jump. Cross keys was as good as ever. They did everything they could to keep her calm and until the 30 seconds before leaving the plane she was great. Staring down 13,500 feet will freak anyone out. In the end she LOVED IT and is planning another trip in a few weeks. Check out cross keys on Facebook. She will be the one with the stuffed pig as a jump partner. We did this jump on Labor Day and the place was packed. They were running jumps rather fast and barely keeping up with the crowds. The dive instructors seemed hurried and less than happy with the pace. The heat and humidity certainly was not helping For my grand son and I, it was our second jump towards getting our License to sky dive. I suggest you study the book. Attention Fellow First Time Skydivers! Last week three of my close people and I decided it was time we all jumped out of a plane, so we found ourselves twiddling our thumbs and kicking rocks with the rad folks at Cross Keys while we waited for the wind to die down. It was very comforting to know that the Cross Keys staff (thanks Loren!) take the weather very seriously and don't carry through with appointments if the weather conditions aren't appropriate. It was our lucky day though and a bit before the sun started setting we got the thumbs up and started meeting our tandem instructors and getting geared up. The instructors were all really knowledgeable and a bit silly, which helped keep up feeling good and keep the nerves at bay. Husky Mike was my tandem instructor and he did an excellent job of letting me know what he was doing and asking before adjusting various points on my harness, and showing me the points of contact we'd share and the altitude meter I'd have on my wrist. He and Timmy Tumbles did a great job of showing us how to "be the banana" for the free fall and preparing us for what to do when we were landing. The flight itself was incredible. It was such a pleasure to get to see Philly and Jersey from the plane. Mike gave me reminders about various portions of the dive and hooked us up and double checked my harness and our points of contact and then HOLY CRAP before I knew it Husky Mike and I were scooting down the bench towards the door. I'm glad you have to fly tandem because I honestly don't think I could've hucked myself out of the plane if not for Mike being reassuring and also bigger than me, strapped to me, jumping us both out. I had an initial moment of complete and utter shock when we jumped (after a count of "1"- leaning out the door, "2!"- leaning out the door again, "3!!" exhale-JUMP!) and totes forgot to "be the banana" until I realized I was having a hard time breathing and that it would be easier if I would just BE THE BANANA (sorrrrrrrrryyyyyyy Mike). I'm sure you've all read about skydiving before if you're reading this, but the feeling of free-falling 9,000 feet is truly indescribably. I felt a rush of adrenalin (and gave a shout) followed by complete wonder and euphoria. At 6k ft Mike put my altitude meter in front of me so that I could pull the chute at 5k feet like we had practiced, but unfortunately I couldn't feel the golfball on the cord so Husky Mike saved our lives and pulled the chute for me (thanks again, Mike). Once the parachute deploys it gets much quieter without the wind whipping past and Husky Mike showed me how to hold onto the parachute steering lines, accelerate, brake, and make turns which was unexpected and super cool to learn. After several minutes of blissful gliding through the sky, Husky Mike took the steering handles back and landed us perfectly onto our feet with a small trot into the Cross Keys Field. High fives were had. Husky Mike asked if I would go again, and at the time I said I didn't know, because I'm a processor and risk calculator, but after a little over a week to reflect, yes, Mike, I would absolutely go skydiving again. Thanks for the great jump, Husky Mike and everyone else at Skydive Cross Keys! **side note: with a quick google search I was able to find out that Cross Keys has a higher mortality rate (the articles did not indicate why that may be) for their experienced jumpers than many other skydiving locations (10 since 2002, which is pretty high considering a national rate of about 1/250,000), so, if you're an experienced sky diver you may be better off going somewhere else. read more

For my 30th decided to go sky diving and dragged My sister along with me (her21days after mine) ....after few reschedules because of the rain and weather delay the day of we were fin at able to jump. When you are literally putting your life in someone's else's hands, you want to make sure you trust those people. I can't explain enough what an amazing experience I had skydiving here! From the moment I stepped into the facility the staff felt like family. It got cloudy so we had to wait to jump, but that just goes to show you how safe it is to skydive here, most places would keep allowing people to jump. Our wait didn't feel long at all because there was a basketball court, pool table, football table, and a cute little food truck to keep us occupied with fun. My sister and her friends had a confirmation for their tandem skydives since 9/17/18. This morning my sister called to confirm the dive and was told all was good to go. My wife wanted to go skydiving for years. What better day to go then on your 25 Th. anniversary. We chose skydive cross keys because of the location and Diana was great when I made the reservation. I was a bit apprehensive because my wife has trouble walking long distances , the place is so cool. Everyone seems happy here. They have comfortable couches , pool and foosball table. Clean bathrooms . The wait is not long at all . They have a great viewing area . They have a place to eat although we did not have time to go there . It's been almost a year since my experience and I've finally (almost) calmed down enough about it to leave a review. I decided to take my boyfriend skydiving for his first time at Skydive CrossKeys for his 25th birthday. I made reservations, we showed up early as directed, paid, filled out paperwork, watched the safety video, and prepared to wait a couple hours for our turn (as expected - fine). What we weren't warned about before we made reservations was that there was also a skydiving competition on the same day, and tandem skydivers were only taken when they had time in between competition skydivers. After waiting 6+ hours past our reservation time, in the sun, they finally called our names! We were so excited thinking we were FINALLY about to do the safety class, and then jump! However, they only called us to the window to tell us that it was getting late and it turns out they wouldn't have time for us today, but hey, as a consolation prize for wasting his entire birthday, they'll give us $50 off when we come back! Sucks though, we will never go back here again. It would've been nice to be told about the competition before making reservations, or just not booking tandem divers on competition days. Totally unprofessional. If you go, make sure they'll actually have time for you. read more
