We rented a cabin for a girls getaway weekend and were harassed by the so called manager Kira to the point that she followed us and threatened to come back to our cabin and beat the crap out of me. All because a friend of ours was having a batchlorette party in the pavilion that she rented and Kira didn't want us there because she has some sort of weird vendetta against me. So when I had had enough and told her to bring it on we get banned from the campsite. This is bull crap when my aunt has had a permanent site there and we go there all the time for The last 10 years. I think it is horrible business when they let there 19 year old manager get drunk and then harass guests. I would not recommend this place to anyone after how they treated us when we weren't hurting anyone just trying to have a nice girls weekend. read more

Travelled 3400 miles to go to the great Curveball festival at WGI this weekend. Mother Nature had other plans for us. All of the water in the sky from the week before must have pooled and dripped from above, contaminating nearby water supplies. That being said, many of the 40,000 who were slated to attend the festival had to figure out how to spend the night(s)... Simple, we said, we have a band of our best friends and should just camp out around here. After some searching around, a friend found Skybrook. They promised that they'd be able to accommodate us and were sympathetic with our situation. Now, it would be putting it lightly to say that we have a sizable crew - we had at about 8 RVs and 10 cars... over 40 of us! We were all in this together so said, let's go! Well, we had been waiting in a parking lot to head to the festival and decided on Skybrook. We got there after dark, around 8 or 9 and the office was still open. They put us in a nice open field where we could all camp together. The locals were very nice and would come by to chat and make sure our stay was enjoyable. People who come here more frequently were riding around on the roads on golf carts. We were wondering if we could rent some golf carts, have a runaway golf cart marathon maybe, but couldn't figure it out - oh well! On Friday night, we were graced by a set from DJ Steve who dropped sick beats in the Rec Hall! Many of the locals were there and we came to this camp town to help them party down! All in all, Skybrook came through for us! The facilities were in good shape, the people were very nice and the campgrounds were quiet and clean. If I had to travel 3400 miles for a cancelled music festival, I would stay here again. Was it for this my life I sought? Maybe so, maybe not. read more

"It's a Skybrook thing. You wouldn't understand" Part I That was the phrase emblazoned on the campgrounds T-shirts and merch. Well, as this past weekend blazed on, I believe that I and the 30+ friends from cities far and wide who camped here came to understand. You see, not all events are planned. And sometimes life throws you a curveball Ironically, this was the name of the now cancelled Phish festival that was supposed to happen at Watkins Glen International this weekend. We had been anticipating this weekend for months. The producers of the festival had been working on it for a year. We even had matching shirts made! So getting the news of the cancellation was a heavy thing. It felt like all of these dreams we had were crushed! But what are we supposed to do, turn around all our cars, trucks, and buses and go home? That would be such a waste. And what's the use in that? Where do you go when the lights go out? So I did the best thing I could think of and looked for a nearby campsite to host me and my Phish Head phriends. I mean, I been around, but coming from the Windy City, I didn't know which to choose. Perhaps our destiny was bound, or many just some strange design. If I could, I would explain it, but I don't know how. All I know is that when I called Skybrook and spoke to the very helpful Meg, she told me they could accommodate all of us and that she has a spot where we could all come together, and most importantly, camp together! In that moment, my sanity was restored. When that moment ended, I relayed the message through our group chat, and like birds of a feather we flocked to Skybrook where Meg kept the office open late and had no complaints about waiting all night for all my friends to arrive. We were charged a very reasonable fee. There was plenty of room around for all of us and fire rings where we could have us some fuego at night. At first we thought we would only stay one night, but we decided to stay and sleep again two more nights. Who knew a day would turn into a weekend? We were surprised to find out they had F(ph)ish fry that night plus the musical stylings of DJ Steve! Well, we didn't taste any of their food because we had plenty of our own meat. Friday afternoon, a man named Hippie came by and offered us a hay ride around the twists and turns of the sprawling property with gorgeous rolling lawns, oh boy. We drove by our friends gathered, but not squished into a small swimming pool. Presumably not to weigh them. Why weigh on a sunny day? We waved at the friendly campers and saw some beautiful unburdened horses. Some of us took a dip in the pool right before the water in the sky came down on us. But after it cleared up it was party time and we all glided over to the rec room. Skybrook had no idea that we came to their town to party down. DJ Steve on the 1s and 2s did not disappoint and was very accommodating when Diana (politely) demanded a few requests. He had us all bouncing around the room. (Especially Zack!) And we really needed that. Remember, we were grieving the loss of our devotion to a dream of going to an epic festival! But that was the night we began to feel some joy again. Brandon K's Review Continued Part II On Saturday, some of us took a little day trip to Stony Brook State Park where we could be at the waterfall, clear our heads, and soak up nature. We saw before our eyes a raging river. We couldn't swim it, if we tried, but we stood as close as we could under the waterfall without getting swept away. We wandered through the forest until we reached a bubbling spring. But then it was back to Skybrook for night two! More cooking out, a game of Phish Phamily Pheud, hosted by our very own Zeez Harvey, while our neighbors, the people all watching, enjoyed a good laugh. Then back to the rec room for some live rock and roll with Mort and the Inner Tubes crushing classic rock and country covers for us all to dance to. We clapped our hands. We were in the right place. Now, some of the reviews I read about Skybrook seemed to pit the "seasonal" campers against the "tourists," but I didn't really get that vibe. All things reconsidered, I felt as if our rag tag bag of party people mingled well with the local folk. And even though it did get a little rowdy at the end of the night between some gentlemen who were not in our group, there was crowd control. It was also funny to see a hoard of campers perched on golf carts surrounding the perimeter of the concert area. Made me wonder if they were about to stage a runaway golf cart marathon. Later that night, some other campers came by to visit us at our camp and they were nothing but friendly, wanting to hang out with us while we laughed and danced and threw glow stick frisbees in the sky while also respecting our neighbors who told us they had zero complaints about our character and conduct. I learned some real lessons this weekend. The first being the meaning of "It's a Skybrook thing. You wouldn't understand." But even with this review, I can't explain it to you. You must go for yourself to find out. The other is that there's good times and there's bad times. Sometimes you get your ass handed to you. Sometimes that happens every day. And sometimes the tide turns. Today I leave Skybrook with the feeling that everything's right. That I'm glad I had a few companions on this ride. We're all in this together, and this has all been wonderful. But now I'm on my way. read more

DON'T RISK YOUR CHILD'S LIFE BY GOING HERE. This is definitely not a family-friendly campground, despite the website promoting eight playgrounds and a pool. There's a locals vs. tourists vibe going on at this campground, and the people who live there seasonally wheel around on golf carts, kicking up dust and speeding around the camp without any regard to the safety of children walking. To top it off, when we got there we out found they had scheduled a 200-person party for the golf cart brigade not 100 feet from our site, which was in an open field. Not only did they not warn us, they didn't respond at all when we complained that people were tearing through on their golf carts right through the middle of our site, drinking, and almost running over our children, who should have been able to play in our own site without fear of being hit by a golf cart or a car backing up. When a younger girl working the desk told an older woman working the office about the complaints (which apparently had been coming in all day), she just rolled her eyes and walked away. It's reprehensible that a business would run in such a way that the well-being and safety of campers and their children is of no consequence. We obviously won't be going back. read more

I spent hours searching for a place to camp for Memorial Day weekend just 3 weeks before the holiday arrived. Finally I came upon Skybrook and they had openings. I was quite shocked but then I looked at the place and realized it is huge. They even allowed us to book a stay from Thursday-Sunday instead of Friday-Monday like most. We arrived Thursday morning around 11 as they have a very early check in time which was great. We felt like we got to actually enjoy the day unlike places that make you check in at 3 when the day is 75% over. Pulling in is very confusing as you have to travel quite a ways down into the property before you find the office. It could be marked a lot better to let you know where you should be going. The roads are narrow, all dirt, and very steep in a lot of spots. I can't imagine pulling our 28 foot camper up them if they were all mud. Our spot was part of an open horseshoe and not clearly marked at all. We were the 1st to arrive of course so we simply did our best to assume where we should be set up. When we arrived we were notified of their no AC policy. The temps were in the high 80's to low 90's and it was HOT! Thankfully a huge rain storm happened that night and cooled things off so we could sleep. Friday we watched the place quickly fill in as the other campers arrived. With no rain in sight we began to worry about how the heck we would be able to sleep in such hot temps. The camper next to us pulled in and fired up their AC right away. As we discussed it with our other neighbors, we both decided it may be a chance we also had to take at night. Now I can understand not wanting people to blast their AC all day. That would be a waste. However allowing people to sleep in comfort is a different story. We fired ours up as we went to bed, set it to a high temp to be careful, and I expected some breaker to blow at some point. It kicked on and off all night and ran just fine with no issues. We checked out Saturday morning simply due to the heat. I asked about their no AC policy and they stated it is possible to run it in some areas but they dont allow it on holidays due to the amount of people. Seems like it isn't because they can't handle it, it's simply because they don't want to pay for it. We didn't experience any issues with the seasonal campers like some express in their reviews. They wave and were pleasant just like everyone else in our experience. The pool was very dirty and filed with debris, the fishing pond needs a lot of brush cleared to make it more accessible, and their roads need a lot of work. The playgrounds were nice, the camp store is packed to the brim with everything, and their early check in is great. Overall it served it's purpose in a pinch but we won't return. read more
