    Resealed Evolutions XY booster pack
    Andres O.

Came in here multiple times and spent a good amount of money at this place thinking they're honest sellers. Things quickly went sour once Pokémon cards started going up in price. Went to buy packs and MULTIPLE packs had melted plastic on them or were literally opened on some ends. I brought it to their attention all they said was "oh that's normal" no it's not normal I have opened these packs on several occasions and not once has this EVER happened. The manager proceeded to tell me "you don't know what you're talking about you don't know about Pokémon" as if I haven't been handling different booster packs for over 12 years. Insane. Also, if things weren't bad enough they go around CT buying out cards from every retail store just to sell them at resale price. DO NOT come here if you are genuinely collecting cards you're going to get scammed and they will NOT refund you. They'll just assume you're stupid and don't know what you're talking about apparently. Because that's an appropriate way to talk to your customers right.

They sell at scalpers price, they sell over MSRP price, it is ridiculous and disgusting! And they say to support your local card shop

They also take trade ins so I'm glad I can sell some of my Pokémon cards to them and get in store credit/cash for more purchases!

GameOn is owned and founded by Tristan Whitworth, who has been giving people of all ages the opportunity to relive their childhood experiences, and/or create new ones. All of the games sold here, are authentic, thoroughly tested, and reviewed so you can always count on the video games being in the best possible condition. GameOn also offers more than just games but consoles, accessories, controllers, and more. One of the recent times I went in; Tristan showed me that he received a whole bunch of promo posters from Nintendo that were unopened. I pointed out that the Banjo Kazooie poster he had, had a beta version of the character Mumbo. (Meaning the poster was worth more!!) It was awesome to see and the fact that he showed me it when I came in at a random day and time was incredible! The prices at GameOn are very fair, and trade ins are always WAY better than Gamestop who will give you pennies. GameOn gives you great rates and even greater if you vouch for in store credit. For those of you reading this looking to relive the past, or discover old but new-to-you classics, or even find consoles, accessories and more; this place is for you. One thing I was very grateful for, was that my cousin, his friend and myself produced a video game that mimics the retro style of older 2D platformers: I.E: (Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Country, etc.) and Tristan allowed us to not only bring it in for him to try it, but allow his customers to try our game and test it. As if that wasn't enough, our game was free to download, with the option of donating and let's just say Tristan donated very generously! Speaking of generous, I also had an experience, where a few years back, I came in with a trade in, and a new employee gave me a pretty low deal which I accepted, but later went home feeling duped. I don't know how, as I didn't even tell Tristan, or write review, and he wasn't in the store that day, but he actually reached out to ME, and apologized that I was shorted, and that I could have an in store credit or the option to receive more money than I reluctantly agreed to. The in store credit was more than fair, and once again GameOn proved why I love it so much; and why I want to return in the future. I shouldn't have to say this; but an owner reaching out to a customer who was shorted, apologizing and giving them a store credit/offering them more money for the price they agreed to? That is unheard of and let me tell you I was blessed and very happy he reached out to me. Overall, what makes GameOn so great is its owner: Tristan. He is an energetic, passionate and kind person who always does right by you. Tristan has also hired some awesome and dedicated employees and they are always very knowledgeable and passionate about gaming like he is! GameOn does more than just sell games; they have hosted charity events, birthdays, gatherings and more. Something worth mentioning is that GameOn has grown from one location, to three, and now even has arcades open which I would urge you to check out! All in all, Tristan has created more than just a store for selling old games, but a living community that supports all who have an interest in gaming, and offers a selection of oldies but goodies, and everything in between. By far, the best retro gaming store on the island! GameOn!

READ THIS BEFORE SELLING YOUR COLLECTION To HERO COMICS & CARDS!…read more I walk in and the owner shows me this incredible card collection he just bought from someone and starts bragging how he already sold a card for $2000. Mind you, he had no idea how to identify some of these cards. I've been in this hobby for 10+ years and I was more than happy to show him everything I know on about how to identify a card. One of the cards I helped him identify was worth $900-1300 conservatively and in NM condition. When he found out how much this card was worth he told me he didn't even factor this card into the value of the collection when he paid for the collection. He said that he thought this particular card wasn't real or was tacky. If you do not know how to evaluate certain cards don't accept them but instead do the right thing and guide your customers to a place that can evaluate a collection appropriately. This should be common sense for someone who has been in the industry as long as you have been. When the owner realized how much the card was worth he didn't seem too concerned about ripping the person off at all! Instead he said "sometimes not knowing what a collection is worth can truly payoff," then he laughed. I really tried to have a good conversation with this man but deep down my intuition was screaming that this person was lost in Greed. There was one card I wanted to buy and he wasn't even willing to sell the card for fair market value even though I helped him identify these cards. All of a sudden somehow he became the expert and was suggesting that these cards were worth more than they actually were. He kept referencing TCG player prices but he knows nothing about how this market works and pretends he does! He didn't even know how to look up these cards on TCGplayer until I showed him. The prices you find on TCGplayer are oftentimes above market value and you can almost always find them cheaper on eBay! Don't deal in a market you're clearly not informed enough to deal in. Be ethical and guide people in the right direction rather than try and fill your own pockets. It's just really sad businesses like Hero Comics exist. I feel for the customer who didn't get the value for their collection that they truly deserved. If you are looking to sell a collection get a quote from multiple card shops before actually selling your cards. If you find out your cards are worth a pretty penny reach out to an online auction that pays 90% of a cards value! Their are plenty of local card shops that know what they're doing and won't accept cards that they are not experts in. Many of these shops are fully transparent with you about the cards you have and can guide you into the right direction. And to Hero Comics, no one is perfect, do the right thing, actually reach out to the person, and be fully transparent with them on what the cards are worth and what they sell for. Give them at least a 70% commission which is industry standard for most card-shops. Take accountability, learn, and grow. I'm confident you will.
