I had originally inquired with Kelley when I got engaged in 2010. My husband & I were her 1st 2012…read moreinquiry actually (hey, you have to inquire early if you want to get the best pricing). Kelley was very responsive in getting back to me via email. When my husband and I first met Kelley & her husband Paul, we met them at a Starbucks in Costa Mesa. They were really nice and very easy going to talk to. They answered all of our questions. My husband was really against having a videographer at the wedding because he thought this was one expense that was not necessary. But after he spoke with them, he thought it would be okay to make allowance for one in our budget. After we met with them for about an hour, I knew that I would not feel awkward around them if they filmed our wedding. But as luck would have it, unfortunately they were not available on our wedding day (we had originally told them another date and they were available but once we found our venue, we were told our original date was not available and had to change it. With this new date change, they were not available). I was truly heart broken when Kelley told me that they were not available on our day to film and had to endure a frustrating search for another videographer team. And to be honest, I have seen so many videos (and I mean a TON) and none, absolutely NONE can compare to what 618 studios do, and at the price they had originally quoted us in 2010. Either the videos were really shaky at times and awkward panning of the camera or if it was nice and clean cut, the price was two times as much as what 618 was going to charge us. So even though my husband and I did not end up having Kelley & Paul film our wedding day, we still would gladly highly recommend them to any future bride & groom. (And yes every now and then I like to watch some of their recent videos because they do such an amazing job telling the story of 2 people starting their 1st new lives with each other) Their films are of high quality and nice and clean shots and transitions between scenes of the day (something I envy of all of these lucky brides & grooms who had them at their wedding). Honestly, I still wished that they had filmed our wedding because the videographer we hired is not nearly as awesome and our video wasn't nearly as clean cut and had some shaky shots (but was the next best thing for us, within our budget) and unnecessary camera panning.

We found Kat before the lockdown at a bridal expo and immediately hit it off. She was so easy to talk to and personable. It was important to us to like our coordinator and she fit the bill! We hired her right away as a day-of coordinator and shortly after, the pandemic hit us. We had to postpone our wedding date for THREE YEARS. She honored her original price and stuck with us the whole time. When it came time to start planning again she was right there ready to go. She encouraged us to reach out to her about any questions we had about any aspect of the wedding. She was available via email, text, phone call, you name it. Planning a wedding is like a small infinity of work. Each task seems to generate three or four more tasks. But Kat was there with answers and options to help us navigate the whole experience. She provided so much help and assurance while planning. By the time the day had arrived she had developed a very detailed timeline with a plan for everything and a contingency plan for every plan. It was certain that nothing would go wrong, and nothing did. Not a single thing was missed. On the day of, I could swear there were twenty copies of her and she'd been working since 5am. Of course that wasn't true but her efficiency and attention to detail was so great that it seemed so. She came with two assistants and so while she was busy managing me and the bride, and both our wedding parties, and our parents, she was also managing her team. Her and her team did our centerpieces, she made sure we (two wedding parties, bride and groom, parents) were in the right place at the right time, knew where we were going next and what was going to happen, and that nothing was missing. Day of, they were always around with a smile on their faces, capturing the moments I was afraid everyone else missed but were also somehow completely invisible, never ever in the way. Even my Mother commented multiple times during the day about how pleasant and kind they were while also being on top of every single moment of the day. I work in the wedding industry and kindness is rarely a thing you see but it is even more rare when partnered with talent on this level. Also, I am very awkward in front of the camera and I require a little direction, our photographer took a very hands off approach so having the very thoughtfully composed shots and lighting that were very carefully directed by Jordan and Julie are invaluable to having the beautiful moments of the day preserved for years to come. As a visual person, I was most impressed with their story telling, they really understood and conveyed the theme and story I had in my mind of the day without every having to be told or spelled out for them. Their art direction, cinematography and ability to tell a story are as good as it gets! After watching our film an unreasonable number of times, I still pick up on nuances where they timed the flip of a dress of the movement in a shot to match up with the music.
