4 months ago I am writing this to warn all homeowners: STAY AWAY from Sky Ready Mix Inc.I hired a contractor for a small concrete project (12x20) and paid him in full, in cash, upon completion. To my absolute shock, two months later, Sky Ready Mix sent me a notice demanding that I pay for the materials because the contractor failed to pay them. They even threatened to place a Lien on my house! Here is why this company is highly unprofessional:1.Zero Verification: As a material supplier, they failed to verify the contractor's license or collect any valid credit information. They admitted they only had a name and a fake phone number for the guy. How can a professional business extend credit to someone with zero credentials?2.Lack of Documentation: No one in my household ever signed for the delivery. I didn't even know the name of this company until I received the threat. 3.Unfair Business Practices: They allow irresponsible contractors to use their materials and then force the homeowners to pay twice. It feels like a coordinated trap between them and shady contractors. It is incredibly frustrating to be victimized by their negligence. Do not trust them with your project. I would highly recommend that you avoid this company like the plague. In my opinion, they are cheats and scoundrels. I order 27cy of concrete as that was the measurement of my foundation. The first truck poured and there was no more than 7cy. However, Sky Ready Mix claimed that there was 9cy in the truck. After the third truck, and by Sky's account, 27cy . . . We still required another 6cy to finish the pour. This means that if Sky was correct, we poured 33cy of concrete. Mathematically speaking, virtually impossible. I paid for 27cy on the day and thought the matter was over with. However, today I have been notified with a Preliminary Lien by Sky for an additional $2,000.00. No bill, no phone call, no notification or request for payment. It is clear that this is the way that Sky Ready Mix does their business. Criminals who should be ashamed of their poor business practices. I am reaching out to all who have been taken or who have had bad experiences with Sky Ready Mix as there are legal ramifications behind their actions. They are knowingly attempting to swindle their clientele, and the excessive number of poor reviews and similar stories is a clear indication that Sky Ready Mix is aware of their actions. One Star is too good for this company. In my opinion, they deserve to be closed down and lose their business license. read more

This business is full of it not only do they give credit to contractors and trust people, but then it becomes the homeowners issue when they don't pay I don't understand why they wouldn't charge People the total amount and ensure they get paid be giving credit then becoming someone else probably.. just like they mentioned in the thread. Please read the reviews people BEWARE stay away from this company and who contracts them! They are a company that scams along with contractors that "hire" them!! The contractor we hired was paid for the services and I get lien from this company stating I owe them! I never made a contract with them whatsoever but ok I get what they're doing they fear mongering you in to paying and then when you're ready to pay they up the price!! This businesses is scamming people! The contractor and this company know what they are doing! The contractor hires them to pour the concrete and then after the work is complete you get a lien and they state they didn't get paid! THe contractor and the company are doing shady business. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They put a lean on the wrong house. They sent me the invoice with the wrong address. I asked them many times to correct the address and have yet to receive a response. The people in the office have no idea what's going on. This is a simple clerical edit that they refuse to correct and now we are at collections. I asked for the owner and they refused to let me speak with her. This is a very Shady Company I will not work with them again. read more

This company is the worst. Unprofessional, rude, and should you run into any issues with their pour they will do nothing to rectify the problem. Back in March I had 2 pours done 3 days a part. The concrete color for both pours we selected were the same yet what we got was at totally different color. I reported this to their office workers Candy and Julie and was told a manager would come out and look. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. I called multiple times for an update and both Candy and Julie now send me right to voice mail. Ive left multiple voice mails and have not received a single call back. YOUR POLICY NEEDS TO CHANGE!!!!!!!! We hired a contractor to do work on our driveway. As most home owners know, contractors come on different days and different hours! My husband and I were at work the day our concrete was poured. I had NO IDEA that our contractor didn't pay this company but WE did pay our contractor for his work. But now I am getting a lien put on my families home because of his neglect!!!????? And Linda tells me that I must not know how things work! She's rude and disrespectful. She said this happens all the time so we should have been more aware! WOW. If this happens all the time it's because the contractors know that they can rip you guys off and rip off the homeowners which is why your policy needs to change !!! If a contractor comes in to buy supplies you should put the lien on their house to ensure you get your money from them not on the customers who have already paid. Pushy rude office girl, pushing for a payment after 2 days then threatening bill collection/lien after 14 days. Nothing on their invoice said cash on delivery so as is with most construction work it was not paid in two days when we started getting harassed. Verbally quoted us one price and charged us more which was the basis of the original two day hold up. read more

Probably the worse customer service I have ever dealt with. After a payment was received Sky Ready Mix issued an intent of Notice of Lien because of failure to pay. Keep in my the payment was made the same day as the service. I should have never received a threat to have a lien place on my home for a bill that was ALREADY paid. read more

Contractor was hired to do a pour for a tenant on owner's property. Check bounced, and instead of dealing with the tenant who was the customer, went after the property owner with a notice of intent to lien within 1 day. Called to discuss this and office girl was apathetic to issue of going after property owner, and then combative when questioned about issue. Overall was a poor experience not due to concrete, but due to office management and questionable business practices. read more

Sky is one of the best readymix companies I've worked with. Their prices are competitive and they are on time.

This is the worst concrete company you could ever deal with. I've been pouring concrete for over 20 years and have never ran into as many problems as I have with sky I will never order concrete from sky again. I would not use there garbage concrete if they gave it to me for free. read more

I needed two bedroom extension done to our house, and these guys were really terrific. The Driver Edgar did an outstanding job and Candy (staff} handling Customer Service were very patient, cheery, and helped me to completely understand what was needed in order to get this done. I recommend these guys for the service they provide and will be using them again for my next project. read more

This is literally the most incompetent and the nastiest company I have ever worked with. They messed up our concrete order completely and put way too many rocks in the mix causing the pump to clog. The job was totally botched and now I have to deal with the cleanup. I spoke to the owner Candy and she just went off on me like a mad dog. To be honest, I used the company because they are a few dollars cheaper per yard than the competition. That was just penny wise pound foolish. Do not use this company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I didn't read the reviews until after I already purchased concrete through them, it is not worth dealing with there office if there is an issue. We did a patio slab extension 27' by 5 1/2' framed out with 2X4's. This would give you 1.750 cubic yards required. Minimum yardage to buy from them is 2 yards, no big deal, would give us extra. Well they ran out of concrete 6 feet short. My biggest pet peeve was I gave the lady the measurements on the phone, she came up with 1.6 yards would be needed. After realizing we were short for the job the females in the office didn't care, they said I should have ordered extra regardless I told them it wasn't two yards in the truck. It had to have been left overs from another job. They sent another truck out, made me pay AGAIN, the complete short load per yard I didn't use. Ended up paying another 263 for the concrete they cheated me to begin with. The manager Candy didn't care; they just want there money. Didn't care we were going to use them for about a 20 yard project to come down the road. The drivers they use and pump crew were awesome, real friendly and caring but even walking both truck drivers over and the pump guy, every agreed it was less then 2 yards from the first truck. Then the office had the nerve to insult there drivers stating they don't know what they are looking at so they don't know. In all, if they would have owned up to there own mistakes and make it right. I would use them in the future, but since the failed to, were extremely rude and disrespectful to myself and even to the person that recommended them to me. The women who work the office are completely incompetent. They said they called to inform us that they were running late to the job which is a complete lie - we had to call them to find out that they were running late. And by late I mean over 3 hours! I had to pay my workers to stand around and also pay the pump guy overtime for waiting. They offered no discount and no apologies whatsoever and even threatened to charge me a $50 late fee because I was disputing the work they had done. If the tables were turned, they would have for sure charges me a waiting/standby fee as stated on their invoice. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. DO NOT USE them for your next job unless you would like to pay your guys overtime and spend more money. read more

DO NOT GET CONCRETE FROM THEM. Horrible customer service! They quote you a different price over the phone and bump up their prices afterwards and charge extra fees that's not stating on the receipt. They also gave us the wrong PSI. Obviously those people in the office don't know what they're doing. read more

My contractor ordered concrete from this company. Their crew was unprofessional and incompetent in the pour to the extent that the concrete needed to be demolished a few days later and re-done. Further, their billing is vague- they seem to just come up with a price and demand payment. When I called their receptionist was argumentative and unprofessional. There are a lot of concrete suppliers to choose from that are good and with fair prices. Sky Ready Mix is not one of them and should be avoided. read more

If they would have had 1 star to give I would have given one star...this company is an scam expert...we got done 1400 sq yards of concrete done on our back yard but after a week it started to crack and finally after 2-3 months it has bigger cracks...they blocked all the drainage holes so that all water can block and stay on concrete...I never gave me a final receipt which has all the breakdown of how money was charged...PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY AND WASTE YOUR MONEY.. read more
