Oh man. Monday between Christmas and new years took just over TWO HOURS for food (pizza and wings) to arrive at our table. Kitchen staffing levels need to be addressed. It should not take 2 hours for pizza and wings. Wings were cold, but even worse - seemingly not fully cooked. Just - sad. Only place around and clearly, hot water in a cup-a-noodle is going to be a much better option. Lotta upside here. read more

The place is totally self serve. You order by the kiosk, pick up your own food and bus your own tables, but they ask for tips shamelessly. That too 18-20-22-25% options. How greedy can you be! For lunch they don't offer pizza options & they are a pizzeria. They have a limited menu both for lunch and dinner. Seating is good & the food is decent too. read more

First time here. I like that this place seems updated, nice booth seating, lots of tvs, full bar. We went twice. I though pizza came out quick and was good. The fresh food ingredient like lettuce, fresh basil on our meals was wilted and or browning. So not very fresh, but I think that's due to the travel it takes to get fresh food up here. I didn't expect it to be great. The service was pretty quick and nice as well. I would go back and just have lower standards for the fresh foods. I think it's a good spot for families as well ! read more

Took forever over an hour to get 1 pizza. And then the food tasted bad. Do not go here!!!

It was a warm and bustling environment. Everyone was so nice! The food took a minute, but worth the wait. The pizza did not look as delicious as at tasted! So crispy and flavorful. The chicken tenders were the best. Had a light crunch and was juicy inside. The fries that came with the tenders were also on point. Great first night in Bear Valley! Thank you! read more

Sky High Pizza Pub - So good we could not wait for pictures! - Pizza Near Me - Bear Valley, California

We love this place!! The food and people are amazing! It's Bear Valley and we are all on mountain time up here. Come, relax, drink and enjoy! read more

Really enjoy the chicken tenders, pizza, and beer just steps from my condo. Convenient, friendly service, and we always enjoy a local place to grab grub after a long day outdoors. It's like the 80's here all over again. My vibe. Sometimes the ball gets dropped. I'll take that any day over Tahoe pretentiousness and crowds. Everything has pros and cons, and these establishments need our support to thrive. We can all be more kind with our critiquing. I do hope the hours, menu and beer variety expand after the growing pains subside. read more

My wife and I enjoyed dinner here tonite. Excellent pizza and wedge salad. Very good beer selection. And very friendly staff. We were very pleased. Give them a try when you're in the area. read more

First time we went we sat there for an hour and a half just to finally go up and find our pizza had been sitting in the window for 45 mins with no tag? They said they were sorry they didn't know who's it was? ( wasn't that busy) it would have been easy to figure it out. Pizza was bad and cold ...pepperoni with exactly 4 pepperonis on the whole entire pizza. Second time trying this place, just as bad as the first. Long wait, forgot to put in our burger order , and when we got the pizza it was burnt and hard. The place is a nice location and the people nice and friendly. It has potential but we are definitely not going back anytime soon... :/ read more

We stumbled upon Sky High Pizza while charging the car at Bear Valley Lodge. Man oh man am I glad we stumbled upon Sky High Pizza! At first we did not order food due to the wait to get food but I checked back at the bar for some advice on where to go eat and she let me know they were caught up on orders and would only take about 10 minutes to get food. So I order a pepperoni pizza and it was delicious! The sauce to cheese to topping ratio was fantastic and the crust was light and crunchy! We really enjoyed the pizza and they had a pretty decent selection of tequila. Avoid the margarita's there and just order a tequila and soda with lime. :-) read more

Very conveniently located at Bear Valley Lodge. Didn't even have to walk outside of the hotel to get here! Food was good, would probably compare it to Pizza Hut. Overall a convenient place to get a hot and fresh meal after a long day of skiing. read more

Wow!! What change a from the previous pizza pallor. Great atmosphere as well as a wonderful menu! The salad and wood fired pizza where both high end and amazingly good! Highly recommend trying it out! Just happy to have options to eat at up here in Bear Valley. read more

The pizza and beers were great and the employees were awesome! The new remodel really brightened the place up.

Four years ago, I walked in to get to-go food at the Sky High Pizza & Pub, and I was quite literally screamed at and verbally attacked by the person in charge that night. read more

This place is top notch! In a tiny town, they have gluten free pizza. They are also very kid friendly and accommodating. My kid was having a rough day after her not so great lesson nearby and they totally helped in a big way! Service speed was good too. This was one of our trip highlights for sure. read more

Not much going on in this area right now. We chilled in the lounge for a bit and waited for the pizza place to open. Lounge area with the giant fireplace was a cool spot to sit and drink beers we bought from the little grocery store, which was also located within the building. We ordered a combo pizza, wings and tater tots. Food was decent enough but nothing to rave about. No issues with service; everyone was friendly. We really wanted to go to Lake Alpine but since the road was closed we made the best of our stay and walked around the village. Was nice to have meandered into this spot with our crew. read more

No complaints. It's a pizza place. It seems to have the same great salads as the Creekside Bistro. When we were there on a Sunday night, it was crowded with Bear Valley locals/staff. Note to management: we had to unscrew the lightbulb above our table because it was blinding--maybe look into dimmer bulbs :) read more

Awesome service. The woman who takes orders is charming. The pizza is delicious. The playlist is awful. I'm 68 and do not want to listen to 50's/60's marginal rock. read more

Food is consistently excellent, large selection of beverages, beer on tap. Pizzas are great, as are the fish and chips. Usually able to easily order ahead by phone for pickup, but also tends to be a predictable wait and ski weekends, so plan accordingly. read more

Had dinner here the night before we left. They have multiple tvs and the service is nice! I ordered the large Lasagna and my hunny ordered the pepperoni pizza. The Lasagna portion was huge and tasty, but the pizza stole the show, uy was hot and crispy. I had to stop myself from demolishing his pizza. read more

The waiters are very cute and charming. However, they don't seem to understand the principle of fermentation, so when the ketchup bottle exploded on us, they just shrugged... The pizza took forever and was a pitiful sight. Oh well, considering they are pretty much the only game in town... read more

Overall: The food was decent but overall disappointing experience. No, I will not return. Instead, I will go to the other restaurants within Bear Valley Lodge. (The Pub by the lounge is great!) Services: Barely any service. Maybe we just have an uncaring waitress. We were seated within 10 mins for dinner during a busy weekend. Order were placed shortly. After 50 mins, we were still with drinks only. With hungry and tired kids on hand, we asked the waitress the ETA. Waitress has no clue how long the wait will be and there is nothing she can do. The mama bears end up getting goldfish crackers from the room for the kids. After another 15 mins, then we got part of the meal. Food/drinks: Chicken Salad with Blue cheese Pasta 2 Pizza Value: Everything is about $15 and up. Decor: Within BV Lodge. Causal and plenty of seats. Kids friendly: In general, pizza is kids friendly but that is IF it ever arrive at a decent time. Gluten Free/Sensitivity: Talk to your server. Nothing is 'labeled' as GF. I ordered salad only. read more

Just got a personal note from the Exec Chef at Bear Valley who is clearly committed to making improvements, Bear Valley is worth a summer visit, especially during the music festival...... note from Exec Chef at Bear Valley Resort...... Thank you for your post. We have addressed food, service and other issues at this location. New kitchen mgr. under my direction, new menu items and we are working on a new service format. I hope you'll give us another try should you be in our beautiful area. I don't ever want a customer to feel that because we are isolated, they should get sub par food, service or cleanliness. The deck area is now posted No Smoking or Vaping within 25' of our building. Sincerely, Robert Mason Executive Chef Skyline Bear Valley Resort read more

After a long day cross country skiing this place hit the spot. Our server was friendly and the service was prompt. Tasty and hot pita sandwiches, fries and cold beer. Simple but well done. read more

The food is acceptable, not great, but the service was embarrassing. They came back multiple times that my choice was not available, but with like 20 minutes in between. It took over an hour for me to get my food. They were completely overwhelmed. The take out side business seemed to get all the priority, and the tables were neglected. Unless you come outside of the busy times I suggest you find another place to eat. read more

I was a little skeptical to try this place out due to the bad reviews but I actually wasn't disappointed. The only thing that I think needs to be improved is the sign at the door that says to wait to be seated. I think this should be a self-serve restaurant when it gets busy or there is lack of staff. We easily found ourselves a booth and then just ordered our food at the bar. We ordered two pizzas, some wings, and a basket of fries. Surprisingly, we got our food quick and it wasn't bad! Fries were a little over salted but the pizza and wings were good. This place has a cool dive bar feel. :) read more

This restaurant was overall a disappointment. I didn't enjoy the service nor the food. I would not come back anytime soon until the fix up there act. Peace out boyyyyyyyyy read more

Costco pizza is better. Service is piss poor. We had to get our own silverware. This isn't a problem if we were in a cafeteria, but there was a WAIT TO BE SEATED sign. Fancy restaurants and Red Lobster have those signs and they bring you silverware! The server offered to refill our soda from the "self serve" soda machine. Server seemed rushed even though they weren't busy. Overall was not a good dining experience. We will not return. read more

Came here to grab some easy food and beer while staying at the Bear Valley Lodge (obviously not many options if you don't want to drive far). I was surprised at the quality of the food, and they had a decent beer selection for such a small joint (Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, Deschutes). Server was friendly and accommodating as well, not sure what his name is but he was a French guy. All in all, above and beyond what I expected. read more

If you're in Bear Valley and you want Pizza, this is it. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and be patient since the service times are just like Bear Valley, laid back and nobody is in a hurry! That's not a bad thing, if's the way of BV (remember, this is NOT Tahoe!). read more

this place has the slowest service ever! we have been waiting for 45 minutes for a side salad and some mozzarella sticks. we had to harass the waiter for a menu and then he snapped at us saying we could get it ourselves. for a place like Bear valley, their service is absolutely terrible and I would never recommend coming back here again. read more

Sky High Pizza Pub - Disappearing fast. - Pizza Near Me - Bear Valley, California

Sky High Pizza and Pub has improved a lot over the past year! We went to dinner last night; service was prompt and courteous and the food came out quickly (and all the orders were served together). The pizza was hot & good, and availability of a full bar is a definite plus. We will be back for sure! read more

The staff here is incredibly nice and their drinks are really great for the standard options, but I wish I could say the same for their pizza. To start off, their location is pretty clean and has an average pizza place wooden decor. Payment for food and drinks is also nice and easy. As for the food in this location, however, I would rather eat elsewhere. There is just something SO OFF about the flavor of their pizzas that no one in my party could bear to ingest the food they ordered. The pesto sauce that they put on some of the pies tastes awful and the cheese is really off as well. Moreover, I specifically asked if the veggie pizza included tomato sauce because that was the only way I would order it and my waitress said that yes, there was. However, once the pizza came there was no tomato sauce and no one willing to accept responsibility for it! Even without the tomato sauce, the food just tasted so bland that no amount of hot sauce or ketchup or peppers could save it. I get that there aren't much options when you're staying in Bear Valley but I would suggest driving 45 minutes to Arnold rather than eating here. read more

It's a disappointing end to an otherwise amazing weekend in Bear Valley. Being the only eatery open on a Sunday evening during the 4th of July weekend, we went, not expecting too much. We should have expected worst. The place was 60% full, but we waited an hour for the food to arrive, with orders mixed up. We have inquired about the status of our orders several times and were told the kitchen was backed up. But we noticed people who were seated after us got their food before we did. The wait staff was not particularly apologetic although they took a small discount out of our bill. And did I mention the meat lover pizza was not tasty? read more
