First time here. I like that this place seems updated, nice booth seating, lots of tvs, full bar. We went twice. I though pizza came out quick and was good. The fresh food ingredient like lettuce, fresh basil on our meals was wilted and or browning. So not very fresh, but I think that's due to the travel it takes to get fresh food up here. I didn't expect it to be great. The service was pretty quick and nice as well. I would go back and just have lower standards for the fresh foods. Really enjoy the chicken tenders, pizza, and beer just steps from my condo. Convenient, friendly service, and we always enjoy a local place to grab grub after a long day outdoors. It's like the 80's here all over again. My vibe. Sometimes the ball gets dropped. I'll take that any day over Tahoe pretentiousness and crowds. Everything has pros and cons, and these establishments need our support to thrive. We can all be more kind with our critiquing. First time we went we sat there for an hour and a half just to finally go up and find our pizza had been sitting in the window for 45 mins with no tag? They said they were sorry they didn't know who's it was? ( wasn't that busy) it would have been easy to figure it out. Pizza was bad and cold ...pepperoni with exactly 4 pepperonis on the whole entire pizza. Second time trying this place, just as bad as the first. We stumbled upon Sky High Pizza while charging the car at Bear Valley Lodge. Man oh man am I glad we stumbled upon Sky High Pizza! At first we did not order food due to the wait to get food but I checked back at the bar for some advice on where to go eat and she let me know they were caught up on orders and would only take about 10 minutes to get food. So I order a pepperoni pizza and it was delicious! The sauce to cheese to topping ratio was fantastic and the crust was light and crunchy! We really enjoyed the pizza and they had a pretty decent selection of tequila. Avoid the margarita's there and just order a tequila and soda with lime. :-) read more

This place is top notch! In a tiny town, they have gluten free pizza. They are also very kid friendly and accommodating. Not much going on in this area right now. We chilled in the lounge for a bit and waited for the pizza place to open. Lounge area with the giant fireplace was a cool spot to sit and drink beers we bought from the little grocery store, which was also located within the building. We ordered a combo pizza, wings and tater tots. Food was decent enough but nothing to rave about. No issues with service; everyone was friendly. Had dinner here the night before we left. They have multiple tvs and the service is nice! I ordered the large Lasagna and my hunny ordered the pepperoni pizza. I was a little skeptical to try this place out due to the bad reviews but I actually wasn't disappointed. The only thing that I think needs to be improved is the sign at the door that says to wait to be seated. I think this should be a self-serve restaurant when it gets busy or there is lack of staff. We easily found ourselves a booth and then just ordered our food at the bar. We ordered two pizzas, some wings, and a basket of fries. Surprisingly, we got our food quick and it wasn't bad! It took over an hour for me to get my food. They were completely overwhelmed. The take out side business seemed to get all the priority, and the tables were neglected. Costco pizza is better. Service is piss poor. We had to get our own silverware. This isn't a problem if we were in a cafeteria, but there was a WAIT TO BE SEATED sign. Fancy restaurants and Red Lobster have those signs and they bring you silverware! The server offered to refill our soda from the "self serve" soda machine. I was surprised at the quality of the food, and they had a decent beer selection for such a small joint (Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, Deschutes). The staff here is incredibly nice and their drinks are really great for the standard options, but I wish I could say the same for their pizza. To start off, their location is pretty clean and has an average pizza place wooden decor. Payment for food and drinks is also nice and easy. As for the food in this location, however, I would rather eat elsewhere. There is just something SO OFF about the flavor of their pizzas that no one in my party could bear to ingest the food they ordered. The pesto sauce that they put on some of the pies tastes awful and the cheese is really off as well. Moreover, I specifically asked if the veggie pizza included tomato sauce because that was the only way I would order it and my waitress said that yes, there was. However, once the pizza came there was no tomato sauce and no one willing to accept responsibility for it! Even without the tomato sauce, the food just tasted so bland that no amount of hot sauce or ketchup or peppers could save it. I get that there aren't much options when you're staying in Bear Valley but I would suggest driving 45 minutes to Arnold rather than eating here. read more

It's a disappointing end to an otherwise amazing weekend in Bear Valley. Being the only eatery open on a Sunday evening during the 4th of July weekend, we went, not expecting too much. We should have expected worst. The place was 60% full, but we waited an hour for the food to arrive, with orders mixed up. We have inquired about the status of our orders several times and were told the kitchen was backed up. But we noticed people who were seated after us got their food before we did.
