My first time here... let me say the drive here is absolutely beautiful! The river is so beautiful and relaxing to watch! I called aged to ask if they would allow my fur baby on the porch outdoor seating area and they said absolutely! This place is very dog friendly we saw many dogs on the campground while enjoying our dinner. The prices are very reasonable! We got the special for the day which was as 1 1-2 pound sirloin steak served with soup, salad, a roll, corn on the cob (half a ear), a baked potato with butter and sour cream, and bread pudding for dessert. All this food cost $30. Definitely can't beat the price! The portions were very generous and the service was outstanding! Waitress was so friendly and helpful. There was only one waitress so there was a little wait time however her friendly attitude made the wait seem trivial. The food itself did leave a lot to be desired. I wish I could say it was amazing, but it wasn't! It was very bland. I put salt and pepper on my food but I am certain that was the only seasoning used in any of my food. If I had been hiking all day or starving it would have tasted better I'm sure but I need seasoning on my food and this place uses none! If they at least had steak sauce it would have bumped it up a star but all they had was ketchup. That is fine for their burgers (which looked delicious on other peoples plates nearby) but the steak needed something to season it up! I didn't take as many photos as I had wanted to but check out the ones I did take. I would go here again, only I would try breakfast food or hamburgers next time. would definitely rent a cabin here.

    Prime rib

Just don't order the prime rib. I already told everyone that Kennedy meadows is the greatest place to go fishing, hiking, camping, riding horses. They take excellent care of those horses!!! They always look groomed and well fed. Thank you all for your effort to keep Kennedy meadows open.!

Went out for Prime Rib night and had a great time. We loved our server most and we got Pickled Green Beans as a gift! Awesome stuff and thank you for everything.

Super yummy meal. I did not love the canned green beans and canned chicken noodle soup but kind of goes with the cowboy theme. Breakfast was also great! And the prices are more than fair.

What's mountain resort without a diner? Kennedy Meadows has it. I just passed through on the way to the Emigrant Wilderness, so although it looks like a good place to stay the week if that's your thing, I can't write much about it. But I did eat at the restaurant. After wearing myself out, I needed something more substantial than what I had in my bear can. And boy, did the Kennedy Meadows Restaurant come through. The restaurant includes outdoor seating. If you want to enjoy the scenery, or you're dirty and smelly after a few days in the outback and you don't want to bother the other diners inside, then this is the option to take. And I took it. I got the activity of resort guests and PCT hikers along with my meal, quite a good addition. Kennedy is roughly 60 miles east of Sonora, so you'd expect prices to be much higher. I was happy to see that a 1/3 pound chili cheeseburger with fries is only $11. Fries were okay, whatever. Pickles and lettuce are put to the side, you put on how much you want, all of it or none. As for the chili burger, it's quite difficult to eat with your hands, so thankfully they provided a knife and fork. Burger and chili were both well done. Sometimes, simple is better, and in this case, the chili cheeseburger was simply better. It's far less expensive to bring your own food and prepare it in your cabin. But if you don't feel like cooking after a day of swimming, fishing, hiking, or horseback riding, then the restaurant at this resort is an inexpensive, high quality, and gut-filling way to get your calorie intake while you rest yourself.

The large dining area was well lit and clean. Indoor and outdoor seating was plentiful and offered a nice place to relax or take a break. I can see this being full on weekends and holidays. They also have a bar with seating, and cafe with ready made salads, yogurt, fruit, snacks, and coffee or tea made to order. They have breakfast items in the am such as burritos and oatmeal but we opted to have lunch instead. Items ordered: Philly cheesesteak- large sandwich with plenty of meat, bell peppers, onions, and cheese on a toasted bun. Chicken tenders with fries (or tator tots)- 3 strips of chicken with crispy fries. Beef brisket chili (you can select toppings- cheese, onions, jalapeños)- okay taste wise but a tad too salty for my taste Pepperoni pizza - decent sized slice but the crust is too thick for my liking (this is self serve) Loaded mac n cheese (loaded means you select two items (items- bacon, broccoli, pulled pork, onion strings, chili)- this item was fine Overall, food was better than other ski resorts and I liked the options they had.

My family ordered a cheese burger, cheese nachos and Mac & cheese! I could not stop eating the Mac & cheese! The macaroni is a bit overcooked but it tasted very good with the cheese and bacon! It was a huge portion as well. Nacho was normal and my son liked the cheese burger and said it was good. The place was full but line wasn't long and we could get an empty table easily. And the cafeteria was spacious and we enjoyed dining inside. Also we had an episode at the end of the day which my son lost his phone! We tracked it and it was at the cafeteria, so we went and thankfully someone turned it in to the bar at the cafe and we got it back safely!!

I highly recommend anybody go here, BUT I HAVE TO SAY WHAT I HAVE TO SAY!!!!!!!!! I was there today, I do not know who the chef was (clearly not the usual one!!), but Angelica was working in the bar. I ordered my burger medium, and it was so far past well done, it was not even edible. It was dry and NOOOO!!! I always order grilled onions, and they have never once charge me for it. Today they charge me $.75 for four skinny strings of grilled onions and yet still put raw onions on my burger that I didn't want. I asked for extra pickles and did not get any extra. I ordered a glass of wine, they did not have any in the bar. Angelica went to the back and came back with a bottle of wine that was not chilled. It came right off the shelf, or at least that's what it tasted like. I had to fill the entire glass of wine with ice, and then it was watered down and was no good. If I did not take that burger to go, I would've sent the whole thing back. THEN! I pulled my salad out of the bag, it was in a teeny tiny bowl. When I eat the salad in the restaurant, it's in a big giant bowl. The salad in this little bowl was less than half of the salad I get had I eaten inside the restaurant. There is no way I will ever order to go food from old corner saloon ever again. I asked for extra lettuce, there was literally about 1/3 of the lettuce. I usually get in a regular salad when I order it inside the restaurant with my burger. Sad part is, and this could happen to anyone, if this was my first time eating at this restaurant, it would have been my last. There's no way I would've ever came back to a restaurant when they cannot get an order even close to right. #NotHappyAtAll and I just threw $47 in the trash. There is a 0% chance I will ever order "to go" food from there ever again, in fear that it will be a terrible order like it was just now. I don't have money to spare, and I literally threw $47 in the toilet today eating at old corner saloon. I could not be more disappointed.

With ample parking in a compacted gravel lot, it's located off the south bound side of Hwy 95. The sign at the roadside says "4.9 Star Restaurant" then "Bighorn Crossing" on the next line. The building is clearly marked, and the speed limit on this stretch is 35mph, so it's easily located. The entire place is clean, tidy, and exactly what you want for a food stop in a "frontier" county (ask Tony). "Yelpers" have never steered me wrong, and this gem overlooking the Walker Lake lives up to the hype! The food is top notch - fresh, flavorful and better than anything else offered between Reno and Vegas. Seriously. Korean style bowls and American burgers fill the menu, with some excellent beverage options, and optional "spiking," for those not driving. Bonus is the conversation with Tony: owner, professional chef, county commissioner and conservationist. He's happy to explain the challenges facing the area, especially pertaining to abused water supply from the corporate farms upriver, if you ask. Please inquire! Thanks Tony and Matthew, for an amazing meal, comfortable atmosphere and stimulating conversation. See you on the next trip!

I tried the Korean BBQ tacos, which were flavorful and satisfying. My only criticism is that I would have preferred to be served on an actual plate rather than in a to-go box while dining in.
