They overcharge. There is no transparency in their billing. They don't tell you how much you're paying for parts, labor or individual services. We had electrical work done. Very disappointed in Sky Heating. Our air conditioner went out called them for service after seeing their ad on TV. I was informed it would be a $109.00 service call and if we had it repaired that would go towards the bill. They replaced the condensor a $20.00 part on Amazon. Same identically part. My husband and I could have put this part in. In the long run the tech was here less than an hour. We were charged $528.00. I asked are there any senior or military discounts. The tech wasn't sure but asked his boss. In the end we received a 10% discount. I ended up sharing this information with both of our kids. Both very irate. Both also work with the public and are spreading the word. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I am also letting all of our senior friends know of this company. One more thing when we received the bill it shows a flat rate the bill is not itemized showing the $20.00 part. I was told they don't not do that. So had them come out to fix a sticky shower handle. They came out. I was distracted and agreed to have them perform the work. Turns out they showed up at say 1240pm and had to go get a plug for the valve as that was the problem and he didn't have it on his truck. Got back and did the job in less than 30 min. Signed everything and left. Total bill 85 I think to show up Part that goes inside valve can't be more than 100 30 min of work 400 dollars I guess? Bill was 575 after a 50 dollar off deal. According to sky heating and cooling its a job bid. And not holy. They did 30 min of work (and I'm being generous here) and 1 part. Literally took 2 min to take the stuff off. And 3 min to put back on. Workers were great and friendly. But $575 for 2 hrs and less than 1 hr of that was actually at my house or working on anything. My lawyers in the wrong field. read more

I called a different HVAC company first, and never even got a call back. This was during a heat wave, and our AC had stopped blowing cold. Sky Heating was recommended by a friend, and I am so glad I called them. They got back to me right away and offered me the option of an emergency after hours appt, or their next available regular hours appt. Morgon came out to look at our system and was able to diagnose the problem quickly, and fixed it on the spot with parts he brought with him. He was very friendly and professional, and upsold my husband on a maintenance program moving forward. As a result of the recent winter storm, we had a copper pipe freeze in our attic resulting in 3 cracks and water leaking on one side of the attic and down onto the ceiling of our garage below. Through Yelp I had a service request sent to a few different companies. SKY responded first and gave me an ETA of 1 week before someone could come out. However I called to verify my info and found someone could come out sooner. Perhaps because I am a repeat customer (SKY replaced our HVAC system last summer). The worker was younger than I expected but knowledgeable, friendly, and open to all my questions. He did a good job and cleaned up well after the job was done. No comment on the cost as I didn't compare to other companies, but glad it's fixed. Of note, this work was on the same pipe that again cracked (in different spots) and leaked a few years ago during another winter storm. read more

Efran went through all the diagnostics they have an amazing program that shows the details with colors and the info so people that may not understand all the technology jargon can understand. Called Sky heating a couple of years ago for a plumbing issue. The plumber came out and could not have been happier. He said he could do the work however we could save a lot of $ if we did the repair ourselves. He told us what we needed and he was right. I was happy and thought if I need any other work I would call them. We had an issue with one of our air ducts. They arrived and inspected our furnace which he said there were problems with our furnace and it should be repaired before it got worse. The pictures he showed me did show areas of concern. I was quoted over $7000 for the repair so it would be better to purchase a new furnace. He did repair the air duct and also went over the cost for a new furnace. My wife is handicapped and she has to keep warm. My main concern was for her health so we did agree to purchase a new furnace. While he was here I asked if he could look at our hot water for the pressure release valve was dripping more then it should. He did take some pictures sent it to a plumber and they quoted over $1000, again more then what a new hot water heater would cost. Because the new furnace was going to cost over $5000 I could not get the water heater repaired at that time. We received quotes from the system designer for the furnace which went from over $5800 to over $9000. We did go with the lower end however it was like I was buying a car. I decided to look into the hot water heater and found out it was an easy fix and would cost $25-$50 to do it myself. I was shocked and made me think did I really need a new furnace or could it have been repaired for less. I did repair the hot water heater and it is working fine. Don't get me wrong I would have never tried to repair the furnace myself, I should have got a second opinion. read more

We, like many, fell prey to the heatwaves this summer and ended up needing to replace both our AC and furnace. I spoke with several companies, and finally narrowed down to 2. Mico was our first point-of-contact and I can't say enough good things about him. Kind, professional, and extremely patient (I literally dragged our decision-making process out for days and bombarded him with so many questions, but he handled it very gracefully and is ultimately the reason we ended up going with Sky.) We did have to wait for about 6 weeks to get our new units installed due to supply chain issues, but this was still a month sooner than the other company could offer. I was nervous that the install wouldn't happen on time, but much to my surprise, they came through with flying colors. Earl, Morgan, Enrique and Dan worked SO HARD, and always with a smile on their faces. I was very impressed with their work ethic and consideration for our house (they left everything very clean.) The last interaction I had was with Meredith, who was also super helpful and sweet when taking our payment. On Wed, 12 Oct, I came home to a complete power outage. I had been experiencing minor power outages because of what I now know was a defective generator part. When I contacted Sky Heating, Maria kindly and patiently explained that my problem was with the generator and that I should contact the manufacturer. I did just that; however, the technician wouldn't be available until Fri, 14 Oct, at 2pm. Somehow, I managed to get through the first night without any power whatsoever...it was brutal. That being said, I knew I would be forced to go through it again on Thurs, 13 Oct. Thankfully, Maria spoke to Braxton on 13 Oct and informed him of my situation. Braxton came to my home after his last job for the day and restored the power! What a relief! I was so very much dreading another night without electricity! First let me say that Sky's appointment reminders are great. I think I received 4 reminders ahead of my appointment. On the day of the appointment they sent me a photo of the electrician with a little bio. again, terrific communication. When I opened the door there were TWO electricians (or so I thought). The one I was informed about plus another one who I think was an apprentice. So that's not good. I should have been told there would be TWO individuals showing up. Now I fully support on-the-job training and I would not have had a problem with the apprentice WATCHING but I do have a problem with an uncertified electrician performing the job. But wait it gets so much worse. I did my research before my appointment and learned that outlet REPLACEMENT could run as high as $175 each. Unreal. OK so I was prepared. I needed 3 outlets replaced ... not created, not wired, or re-wired, just replaced. When I was given the bill I nearly fell over. Over $540 for 3 outlets. They weren't gold or diamond encrusted, just ordinary outlets that you can buy from any hardware store. $540 for 3 outlets is insulting, it's offensive, and I caution anyone. We won't even talk about the attempt to u-sell me on other electrical service. read more

I called Sky last week to make an appointment for an estimate. The appointment was confirmed and I was given a 3 hour window of time. I cleared my schedule and made sure I would be available. The appointment was to discuss venting a hood range through my roof, installing AC throughout my home, and getting a fan installed in a bathroom. I shared all of this information in the initial call. I called at 9:54 this morning, the morning of the appointment, and was informed that my appointment had been canceled due to them not working on hood ranges. I had only called to ask if they could give me a better idea of when they would be arriving in the 3 hour window. I explained that I was frustrated that the appointment had been canceled without any form of notification. The receptionist transfer me to their sales team. The sales team reported that they had called me and that they were sorry they weren't able to reach me with enough time. I explained that I had no missed calls or voicemails. He verified my phone number and address both of which he had correctly. I explained that the hood vent was only one piece of the work I needed done. He immediately offered to get me in touch with someone else to discuss planning around the AC and bathroom fan. I explained that I would not be working with them based on this entire interaction. I was very excited to work with a woman owned business that came highly recommended.
