I paid only $28 today for a mani/pedi which was not only a great deal, but it looks great too. Unlike a large noisy salon, Sky and Sea offers a more intimate experience taking one customer at a time. Had another awesome facial with the fabulous Esther. I plan to go back again and again - she is so skilled and knowledgeable. And her arm and hand massage puts you in a trance. I've been looking for a good facialist for years! I've been to a few facialist at dermatoligists and spas but havent found one that wowed me and my skin. Finally after searching through Yelp I found Sky and Sea Spa located in the MDC building on 87th and Kendall. It was a little confusing finding the place since the spa is located inside the OB Office. Anyways I was thrilled to see how the facialist did her magic. The facialist was fantastic, she listened to my request and was very gentle professional and talented. I have very sensitive skin so she was careful and meticulous with her routine. She cleansed, scrubed, detoxed and moisturized my skin. As I left my skin was glowing cleansed and purified. My bedtime my skin was radiant and happy! As a birthday gift to myself I booked the prenatal massage, mani/pedi, and facial (this was a different package that's being offered currently. maybe a leftover holiday special?). Being 32 weeks pregnant I needed some "me pampering time." So happy I picked Sky & Sea. For $99 you can't beat the price! It started out with the facial. Jackie was great! The facial was very relaxing and she recommended services after baby comes but didn't push products. The extraction was done with q-tips which I had never experienced before but did the job without leaving red marks. I'll definitely be back for an oxygenating peel. Next was my massage with Marjorie. I was apprehensive about a prenatal massage, having never had one before, but it was amazing. It was done on my side, which was new for me, but it was one of the most relaxing massages I have ever gotten. I almost fell asleep! She did a wonderful job of making sure I was comfortable at all times and the body pillow and head support is so, so comfortable! Lastly was my mani/pedi, with Rachel. She was very attentive and meticulous in her work. She took her time and it didn't feel at all like the rushed mani/pedis I am used to getting at other places that need to turn over the staff quickly. But I noticed the next day that some of the polish was already peeling and some cuticles were missed. The staff were all great and constantly attentive to your needs! I'm not giving it 5 stars because 1) I had originally booked a gel mani/pedi but it wasn't updated in the system and they didn't have time to do the gel. Which is unfortunate because I am having maternity pictures taken and would have loved to have had non-chipped polish or need another manicure and 2) like I said the $99 price I was quoted when I made the appointment wasn't saved in the system and they wanted to charge me the current package price. The front desk girl, however, was very nice and honored the $99 deal I was originally quoted. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back for another massage or facial!! read more

I've been here so many times after my original review that I think it needs an update. I've had manicures, pedicures, and a few massages with two different therapists here and they've all been good. However, the super stars for me at the Sky and Sea Spa are the facials done by Esther. I am very picky when it comes to anyone touching my face and I can honestly tell you that if it's up to me, I will never let anyone else do a facial for me other than Esther. She is gentle but very effective. My face stays clear and feeling great for a very long time. She's never left me with red spots or irritation and she makes the whole experience extremely relaxing as well. In my case, after assessing my skin's needs, she recommended the ReBalance moisturizing facial cream from PCA Skin, which they sell there, and it has been a true blessing for my face. No more dry spots or unevenness. Another important thing to mention is that they always have a monthly special going on and they frequently have a Groupon available that allows you to buy several treatments at a significantly discounted price. I don't think I've ever paid regular price for any treatment here, which is another great reason to keep coming back. I'm due again in June and can't wait. As other reviewers have noted, this is a spa located in a OB/GYN's office. As a result, it's a little bit small, but I'm only one person, so who cares?! I went here because this is my doctor's office and I wanted to try threading but also wanted someone highly reputable. As a veteran of waxing and the irritation and break-outs that happen from waxing, I was eager to see what threading was all about. I was completely thrilled! The technician, Ashley (I think) was super-professional and explained to me every step of the process and asked to make sure she was not exceeding my comfort level. She also was very detail-oriented and left no hair behind that should not have been. I was red-skinned for about an hour or so afterwards, but nothing like after waxing, and twenty-four hours later my skin is perfectly smooth and completely normal, as if nothing had been done. My brows look AMAZING! Not only will I be coming back from now on for threading, but I will also go for other treatments, such as my first facial and for a hot stone massage. I came to Sky and Sea Spa for their threading service and was very very very satisfied. The technician was amazing and left no hair behind. I would give her service 5 stars without hesitation. The only reason why I gave Sky and Sea 3 stars is that it doesn't really live up to their 'Spa' name. It is a medical office with a small area on the side where they offer spa services. So don't come expecting some fru-fru zen space. However, the place is impeccable so I would definitively come back for other services. On a side note, I really recommend threading for facial hair removal - much less abrasive to the skin compared to waxing. read more

Great place, I loved it and will definitely return. I had Allison for my prenatal massage and Esther for my facial. Both were super sweet and attentive. I have to say, I favored my facial service a bit more, I found it more relaxing. I also bought the YELP coupon, so that helped save on both services as well. They seem to always run a special on their FB page, so make sure to like their page. The front desk receptionist was very sweet as well. My only suggestion was for the massage room to get breast pillows for us pregnant gals. It would help greatly to be able to enjoy the massage more. read more

Okay, so, I get facials every month. It's how I maintain my skin, especially since I'm prone to breakouts along my chin. Esther treated me, and she was really, really nice. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: I have a LOT of experience with having extractions performed on me, even with tweezing tools (my old facialist in Houston, Texas who I LOVED got them this way...hurts like hell, but I loved the results). Esther'd approach to extractions is very, very tolerable. She's very thorough, and her touch is not too hard, nor is it too soft. I like their product lines (Pevonia, and another more "clinical" line...the name escapes me). I also like her table. It's heated, and that felt nice. Cons: She had me leave the appointment with an oatmeal/honey "masque" on (transparent). She warned me that it would be sticky (which, actually, wasn't a big deal). She asked me to sleep in the masque, and remove the next morning. Everything was fine, until the next morning when I woke up, removed it, and had what appeared to be a mild "sun burn" on my face (complete with the raccoon "white eye" look). It faded over the course of the day, and now, on waking up on the second day, my skin looks fine. So, if I were to go back, I would have to discuss this with her and make an adjustment. I am still looking for my "perfect facialist" in Miami, and may try other places...but since July, I've tried four different women in the city, and so far, Esther is the only one to whom I would consider returning (in spite of the chemical burn thing). read more

I decided to give this spa a try after the comments i read, and i must say they were spot on! The place is kept very clean and organized, it's a very relaxed atmosphere. I was promptly greeted and offered refreshments. My massage appointment was punctual. My therapist was very professional, asked all the right questions to address my needs. Room was very comfortable and clean. She focused on all the areas i needed attention and therapy on. I came out feeling great, ready for a much needed nap. I happen to meet the supervisor who was very nice and attentive. She asked if everything went well, and showed genuine care for what i had to say. my overall experience was good, although it had a rocky start. i had a 2:45 appointment and although i arrived early, it wasn't until 3:15 that i got called in. the girl didn't flip the sign-in page and missed the fact that i had i signed in on the second page. all she had to do was flip the page. she actually called me while i was sitting right in front of her in the waiting area because she thought i was not going to show up. but...i let it slide. no one is perfect. and she was very apologetic about it. on to the facial... the facial experience itself was good, however, i was not thrilled with the results. esther was very nice and knowledgeable. she used a tweezerman for the extractions (a silver little utensil) and it wasn't until she started that i realized this was her method for extracting. i had a facial once where this tool was used and i had the red marks on my skin for days. well, it happened again. had i known this tool would be used, i probably wouldn't have gone through with the facial, but i was already on the table. it's now 3 days post facial and i still have the red marks on my face. i have sensitive skin, and now that i'm pregnant, its ultra sensitive. i'm sure this method of extracting is fine for the most people, but it just doesn't work for me. aside from the red marks, i can still feel bumps underneath my skin. i don't feel like everything was removed which is why i don't feel truly satisfied with the facial. read more

hindsight is 20/20.... i shouldve bought more of the dealtificate vouchers for a one hour luminous vitamin c facia!! at $39 it was a steal! i made an appointment at 7 pm (great for us working folks that they stay open so late). esther was a total sweetheart, super attentive, and saw me right away. the room is perfect- the right amount of light, great relaxing music, just right temperature, and that bed was soooo comfortable i couldve slept there all night. the facial was great, the traditional cleanse, exfoliate, steam, extraction, cold compress, mask, and mositurize. she explained all the products and what she did and why. my skin looked and felt great for days after the facial. read more

Massages -- definitely have had better and I've had massages on high-end cruises, all-inclusive resorts, high-end hotels all over the world and this did not rate. For the second time I was short-changed by at least 20 mins and when I called the massage therapist on it the second time he kept insisting that we started way earlier than we did. He had a clock in the room and I pointed out that I arrived AFTER 1:45p, had to wait 10 mins and we started about 2 mins before my 2pm appt. Then he finished at 2:40p -- if that's not cutting you out of 20 of your allotted 60 mins I don't know what is. Needless to say, I cut his tip in half as well. Won't go back for a massage there. And on top of that, I had to finally ask him to MOVE from the one spot on my back that he seemed to be just placing his finger for almost 3 mins to the degree that it started hurting. He was very lackluster as a therapist. Not even worth the little I paid for the Groupon. The facial I had here, however, was FANTASTIC and worth every penny. I bought a package of 3 and will continue to go there even without a Groupon. They get 5 stars in my opinion!!! read more

WOW! I went in for a facial and it was an amazing experience. A couple of years ago I had paid top dollar for a facial at one of Miami's best dermatologist office. I was so swollen! I don't have pimples, and i looked like I had major acne. I haven't gotten a facial since then. I decided to give it another shot at this spa. When I went in yesterday for my facial, I was so impressed with the spa. The products were amazing! I was so relaxed during the facial and the facialist, Ester was awesome. I wasn't swollen the least bit and my skin looks and feels amazing. I ended up purchasing a cleaner and toner because I liked them so much. The products are excellent and priced very economical. I had the prenatal package today at Sky & Sea Spa. It included mani&pedi, mini facial and prenatal massage which I chose instead of waxing services. I have to say that I was really happy with everything I got. The massage therapist David was very attentive and did pretty good job relieving me of my back pain and handful of knots. The mini facial was super relaxing and everything that was used on my face smelled delicious! The girl who did the facial was really pleasant (I' m sorry I didn't ask for her name!) and helpful. She also did my nails which look terrific. The place is really really nice and clean, the beds for massages and facials are super comfy and the service is great! The whole package cost me $134 and lasted about three hours. I really loved it and definitely will come back! read more

My facials have been done by a knowledgeable aesthetician whom I've dealt with for about 2 yrs. Products are great and I always leave with my face feeling fresh and clean. I was looking for a spa in which I could get a facial and looked on the internet, I found this place. I actually called and to my surprise someone answered despite the time. In the internet it was placed as a spa but this is a ob/gyn it was okay when I got there I'm glad I went early. I was lucky to have found a good deal thru yelp and purchased it. Back to my facial, I thought it was good. The young lady was very professional, but forgot to tell me her name and that she would be my facialist as she was the person at front when I got there. She took me to one of the rooms and explained to me on what to do and came back. The only reason I don't give it five stars it's because of introduction, lack of music and maybe she could off explained to me of products she was using.
