We decided to give Skipolinis another try. Let's just say that our opinion is still the same. We arrived at the restaurant this past Sat. at 5:30/6:00. We were seated right away. (Good sign for a Sat. night) After sitting there for a good 15 min without be acknowledged we asked a passing by server if someone was assigned to the section. At the same time our server arrived and apologized for the delay. (Mind you this section was not busy). We decided we better order everything just in case she disappears again. Well we got our drinks successfully and our pizza showed up in a timely matter. We ordered the all meat pizza. Save your money folks. It was so salty we could hardly eat it. Took it home to add some more cheese with hopes that it will taste better. Nope! Ended up throwing it away. Also, visited the restrooms. Filthy! Chuckie Cheeses restrooms are cleaner than these were. The waitress I had was wonderful and my 5yo niece loved the cheese pizza. The low number of stars is for the most hideous dish I've tasted. The mahi mahi with kale pesto smells like literal horse poop and tastes terrible as well. I was appalled. I didn't complain to the waitress - it wasn't her problem. It is just a bad dish. I love kale, spinach, fish, and tomatoes. How did they make them smell like actual feces? I'll never know. I have to say, we won't be back. The first time was for their "preggo pizza", I was very pregnant and ready to meet my little man, so we gave it a shot, and to our surprise went into labor 12 hours after eating. This is my go-to place for when I want pizza or pasta. I sat on the patio last night but never noticed the play ground outside until then. That's a great idea if you have kids with you. It takes away from a peaceful evening outside if not. No biggie though. I started with the bacon wrapped jalapeños and they were DELICIOUS! For my entree I had the lasagna, which I highly recommend. I've also had the clam chowder and the caprese salad in the past. I've never had a meal here I didn't like. Our server, Kyle, was taking care of several larger groups but our service never lacked. But their pizza is definitely one of the best around, and I have been on a quest to find the best pizza in the area along with a couple of co-workers. This is not Italian fine dining people. Don't review it as if they pretend to be.... but it is definitely a step above Macaroni Grill(the Chili's of italian food). The chef(s) obviously cared about what they were putting out, and everyone in my party (even the kids) said they loved everything they ordered. Yes, there is a play structure (left over from when this place was Johnny Carino's I believe), but it is completely outside, and far off in the furthest corner of the outdoor lounge area. I personally appreciated the few minutes of silence to finish our drinks and talk that this play structure afforded us. I don't know if they just read Yelp and took everyone's complaint about service to heart, or we just got lucky and got one of the good servers, but our experience was great overall. Everything tasted fresh, and was reasonably priced for Roseville, and our waiter was very attentive, despite obviously being frustrated with being the only server for the whole outdoor area. We have driven past this place many many times, today I talked him into trying something different other then another Mexican chain. He got the lunch special Monster slice with garlic bread, salad and a cookie. Garlic bread was somewhat bland and salad had a bit to much dressing. Pizza I was told was alright. My family and I came into dinner tonight after a long day at the lake, very hungry and tired. We noticed the play structure. Therefore we let your little crazies run rapid. Our server was very attentive and nice. Although our kids were all over the place, she got our drinks to us quickly and made sure our food was out asap. The food tasted amazing and everything came our correctly. After, your server got us drinks to go and made sure the experience was a delight. Later the next day, my husband and I saw a film, in the same shopping center. We decided to go back to Skips for a drink after the motion picture. We went for lunch on a wenesday and we were the only people in the joint. I got the lasagna and my husband got chicken pasta of some sorts. as for the service I say an A. The atmosphere is family friendly of a traditional italian resturant. unlike most italian joints you have to pay for the bread, which was a total downer but it was worth the 7 bucks the bread tasted fresh baked and came with oil and balsamic vinegar, enough for a whole family, it was a lot and it was fresh and yummy. not a fan of the food perhaps the pizzas here a better, it seemed to be their speciality. I might give this place another try for the pizza definitly will not be getting pasta anytime soon, it was sort of lack luster based on my experience with pasta. We came here simply for the fact that my favorite pizza place (that had gluten free pizza crust) closed. Skipolini's has gluten free pizza so we thought we would take the kids (11 & 15) and give it a try. Everything is a la carte so if you want a meal other than pizza you are going to pay for it! The pizza portions are large! My daughter and I could have split a personal pizza. Everyone said the food was good but no one was asking to go back. The gluten free pizza...well...honestly it tasted just like the frozen pizza that I can pick up at Whole Foods. I guess I am still on the look out for a good gluten free pizza spot that we can all go to and enjoy a meal. The atmosphere is nice. Big inside and nice booths. They have a little gelato/yogurt area that you have to pay for apart from your bill. The gelato was ok and the yogurt...well, I would just go to a yogurt shop. We have been here many times and love it. Tonight the hubby wanted to go on a date so we came here. Although I am on the KETO Diet I can usually find something "keto" friendly anywhere... usually a bunless burger, meat and veggies or a good salad but today Pizza sounded really good. Usually I just have them load up on the toppings and I just don't eat the crust but I always feel it's such a waste. So tonight I asked our waitress if they could do a "keto" pizza. She said they have not done that and they don't have a deep dish pan but she would definitely see what they could do in the kitchen. I just ordered the sauce, cheese, and lots of yummy toppings. We just left Sportman's warehouse and wanted to grab a quick bite and stumbled upon Skipolinis. The inside was very clean and not too packed for a Saturday afternoon. We were seated quickly, and our food didn't take long to come out. I had the Cajun pasta and my friend had the chicken parm. The Cajun pasta was really good and flavorful. It came with andouille sausage and chicken but I didn't care too much for the chicken. It was kinda dry. My friend said the chicken parm was really good also. For dessert they have this cute little shop. I think it's called Dolce Bene I think. They have gelato, shaved ice, cakes and pastries and more. Could be my new favorite Italian restaurant. It is a little pricey but so delicious. How can you beat amazing white sauce pizza with gelato for dessert? I've already been there twice in two weeks. Its about as expensive as a Round Table pizza but so much better. It is very children friendly. Kids can even make their own pizza at their table. This location took over a Johnny Carino's and fits in perfectly. It's definitely a FAMILY friendly restuarant. When we first walked in, no one was there to greet us. They seemed a bit short staffed. The menu items mostly consisted of Pizza and Pastas (which are pretty good). Pizzas can be customized in halves, quarters, etc to fit all family needs. :) Please note: i am only giving this place 3 stars because of the service. Food and atmosphere was great. Skipolini's is a very busy place, so the wait is always around thirty minuets. This just proves how great of food they serve. The servers are very nice have helpful. They have the ability to explain the menu in great detail and also allow guest to modify their dishes if needed. I always order the meatball sandwich, and it taste great! The only reason why this is not a five star review, is because of cleanliness. Upon arrival, I always see papers, food, and other garbage on the ground. However, the booths are clean.
