So we went to try Skipolini's Pizza because we heard about their famous Prego pizza and we had a family member who was trying to go into labor. We made our way to the restaurant yesterday afternoon and were luckily able to find street parking right by it. The restaurant itself was actually pretty empty for a Thursday afternoon, understandably so. But the server that attended to us was quick and seemed happy to answer our questions about items on the menu. While the Prego Pizza unfortunately did not work to start my cousin's labor (at least at this point 24hrs later haha) it was very delicious! It came loaded with a bunch of different toppings and they weren't kidding when they said they put a lot of garlic! Even though this pizza did not induce labor, I'd be happy to come back and try more of their menu offerings in the future. read more

We came here after a hectic day and wanted to decompress with comfort food. Skipolini's hit the spot for us! We had a combination pizza with sliced zucchini added. The pizza was delicious, with very fresh ingredients and a crust that was not too thick or bready topped with our favorite ingredients on it. I was pleased that it was not too salty. Prego Pizza! Ordered for pickup and was on time This pizza had a lot of toppings, so much meat and I appreciated the extra onions and garlic. It's the kind of pizza you'd eat with a fork and knife because the center kind of breaks down, which is fine by me, if rather have the pizza loaded. Overall it was a hearty tasty pizza, however there were some spots that were intermittently super salty , so the slices weren't very consistent in terms of taste I'm still pregnant (39+6) and it didn't induce labor these past few days for me but it's a fun idea! We went here for dinner to try the preggo pizza. We were seated pretty quickly for a party of 8, the staff were nice and accommodating. This place is pretty big with a large outdoor seating in the back. We got the spinach dip and soup of the day as appetizers. We got the preggo pizza and the margarita pizza. Both were really good. Came to Skipolini's last night for dinner with my former boss, based upon his recommendation. They offer plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options out back, and we apparently arrived at a good day, as he stated that Skipolini's tends to fill up to capacity during the weekends. We opted for outdoor seating, which was clean, covered with an umbrella, with heat lamps nearby for when it starts to get chilly. They have a beautiful fountain outside, as well as a side area with slides for the kids, as well as several arcade and claw machines. Service was very friendly, attentive, and the waitress came by to check on us periodically throughout the meal. She was very efficient, and was quick to both refill our drinks, as well as to bring out our orders. We decided to order two medium pizzas to share between the two of us. One All Meat Pizza, which was heavily loaded with Salami, Pepperoni, Ham, Bacon, Linguisa, Sausage and Ground Beef. And one Combination Pizza, which was topped with Salami, Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Olives, Bell Peppers, Onions, Sausage and Ground Beef. Both pizzas were delicious, had thick crusts, toppings were fresh, and the combinations went well together. Will definitely be stopping by Skipolini's more often now, whenever I find myself back in the Walnut Creek area! read more

It's a family tradition of ours to come here when we are pregnant for the prego pizza. I had this pizza with both of my pregnancies. With my first I did go in to labor 2 days after. With my 2nd I didn't go into labor until a week later. It's just fun to go and celebrate the baby and eat delicious prego pizza. The prego pizza has so many toppings and is so delicious! I also love the house salad! It has beets, garbanzo beans, onions and your choice of dressing. Kids also get to build their own pizza. My kids chose to make their own with cheese and olives. They love making their own creation! The inside is very calm, warm and inviting. The parking is a bit of a hassle. There isn't a lot of street parking and there is a parking garage around the corner. The restaurant was nice and the staff friendly. It was fairly empty on a Sunday evening so the service was quick. But the three stars are for the pizza. We got a half veggie/half creamy pesto and the veggies were almost raw. It was kind of awful to eat raw zuchini and raw mushrooms. The creamy pesto hardly had any flavor of pesto. Came here for a double graduation celebration..cute patio area with the little arcade/play area. Combo and Hawaiian pizzas were tasty. The lasagna was heavy but flavorfully good. A day before my due date and I decided to try the legendary Prego Pizza. We had a party of 8 and we got seated immediately outside as it looked like there were a bunch of reserved tables inside. They had a tent setup with heaters, which was fine for my group. *note* please check around for parking signs/meters because we got a parking ticket after we checked around if we had to pay............. Between us all we ordered 2 large pizzas - Prego and the Martinelli. 2 Cesar salads for the table and we had 2 kids with us so 1 ordered the lasagna and the other ordered a kid's pizza (super cute, they brought it out to him uncooked so he can decide how much cheese he wanted to put on it, then once he was done they baked it!). If you do your research and look up what's on the Prego pizza, it's literally just a bunch of toppings that supposedly induce labor. I forced myself to eat 3 slices. About a day and a half later, nothing yet. Maybe it worked for some, but not all. Unfortunately for me what stood out the most was the poor service. Everything was so slow. It took forever for us to get anything -- napkins, utensils, drinks... We had our Cesar salads in front of us for like 5 minutes with nothing to eat it with. Overall kind of a subpar experience. We took our son and his buddies here for his Birthday dinner and it was a huge success. We found the service to be exceptional. I had to switch our reservations a few times and they did it without any questions asked. We sat in the back patio which was a great spot since we had some happy, excited, full of energy young boys with us. The service was great! Our waitress was very attentive and checked in quite frequently. The pizza was good, not great as usual. We ordered a few large pizzas and found it to have too much red sauce and not enough cheese. Honestly, I came here for the preggo pizza for a friend and it took 2 days before she gave birth haha! I did eat a slice and it was really good. It's like a supreme pizza with more meats. The chicken wings texture was all off, it seems like they microwave the chicken wings and pour buffalo sauce all over it. Terrible!! Next was the prego pizza, the pizza in the middle was uncooked. I've heard of this place from many people and decided to try it out. Not pregnant, so I didn't get the preggo pizza but the food we did get was pretty tasty. We decided on a build your own medium pizza. The medium size comes with 8 slices and that was more than enough for us with leftovers. The pizza was good. The crust on it was nice and not too thin or thick. We also ordered the Caesar salad and chicken wings. I'm pretty sure the salad I asked for was a small but that plate was huge. It was so delicious that I ate almost half of it! I started having contractions that night and delivered my son on 9/9/22. So I've heard about this preggo pizza from friends and coworkers. Each personal experience were half and half. I was 2 days past my due date and thought what could it hurt to try this pizza. Came here on a Wednesday with my husband around 5pm. Woke up the next day around 5:30am with heartburn and painful regular contractions.
