As a downtown company who needs and appreciates a service like this, their service for the pick up portion is appalling. Both instances I have scheduled a pick up, I have received a min of 4 time changes sent by email and usually those come within mins of when they were supposed to arrive. So much wasted time waiting for their arrivals Customer service response comes back with a canned comment. It seems very hard to get some accountability for conscientious caring service. read more

They donated 95 cents for a full bag of bottles. Previously, the bags were all in the $7 to $10 range. I complained but they just confirmed the 95 cent donation. Apparently it's useless to complain. One more mistake and I will drop the service. read more

My storage room was beginning to have a "hoarder's" vibe about it but I couldn't get to the bottle depot. Enter skipthedepot.com In a few minutes of surfing their site I was registered and a pickup in my area was scheduled for later that week. On the initial visit I used my own plastic bags but they left me HUGE blue and white branded bags for subsequent visits that are convenient and attractive. Pickup can be auto-scheduled (or not). You are given a code to write on the bag and your money is e-deposited into your account when the recycling is counted. You also have the option of donating your recycling to various charities. This business is a brilliant idea, hugely helpful and has continued to make wise improvements in the short time I have been a customer. read more

Things that are donated are just left in the yard of a bottle depot to be destroyed by weather. I'm not talking recycling, I'm talking things like children's toys, car seats, televisions, strollers. This is a tax receipt scan, people aren't actually helped by the donations. read more

I am a senior who doesn't drive and this service was great fopr me, but after years of great service, they really screwed up on my count and wouldn't change it, so they are basically saying I am a liar when several years of past history would have shown them my normal average count was far higher than what they said they counted this time. I don't know if they changed management or what but this was the second time in a row so I kept an accurate count of my returns this time, the first time they corrected it but this time they just ignored me so I deleted my account and would not recommend them anymore if this is how they treat their clients. read more

I love skip the depot. I hate going to bottle depots so our bottles and cans have generally just gone into recycling unless we know of an upcoming bottle drive for someone's hockey or baseball team. We donate the proceeds instead of pocketing the money since we weren't collecting the $ anyway. I get a monthly text asking if we want a pick up and I just have to reply yes. I get confirmation that the driver is on their way on the pick up date and then another text saying they have arrived. I think it's an awesome service! read more

Horrible customer service. Repeated failed pick ups, poor communication. I was trying to donate my bottles to a charity. They were supposed to come Monday, then Tuesday, now possibly Saturday. No consideration for having to haul 14 bags from the shed to the step and back again 3x. read more

I am very happy with the Skip The Depot service. They contact me to arrange a pick up every few weeks and it's always just when I need it. I'm able to support a local small business and donate to charity. Win/Win! They are great communicating with me through the app and via text messages. They let me know when I'm the next pick up and then I put out my bottles. They provide me with bags too which has a place for me to write my customer number on with a Sharpie. They have been doing this service for a while now and they have ironed out the little kinks from the beginning. Great service in a time when I don't want to be going to the bottle depot myself. read more

They told us they would pick up the bottles in the morning, then they kept pushing the time back. They also told us to leave the bottles in the front yard.The driver went to the wrong house. They never got to our house and someone stole all of our bottles. Would not recommend! read more

I very much appreciate the service - and the website is easy to use. It is easy to request a pick up and I appreciate that they provide a bag for pick up (bigger than the bags I have). 2 times I have dragged out bags of bottles out for pickup. No show both times. I think it is sad that a business who portrays itself as helping charities cannot be bothered to show up and has no way for anyone to contact them. Amazing contact free bottle pickup service. Free bags given out and updates along the way. Got an e-Transfer within 24 hrs with my deposits!

I was very very disappointed in the false advertising that sucked me in. To start with you must be available from 8am to 5pm the app that gives you the time of pickup will change all day long. The app said i would receive an etransfer within 24 hours. As soon as the bottles were on the truck i received a text saying that i would receive my money in a few days. Then i received an email for e transfer after completing the info it said i would receive my money with 7 days. I had 14 garbage bags full and received $62.50. Then they charge you $1.50 to etransfer. You do not know any of this until after your bottles are loaded. They state they will send you a receipt showing they took 30 percent. No such receipt ever appears. I usually average $10 a bag and the amount i received is very low but i have no idea what they actually received for a refund. I would not recommend this company. I wish i had of taken the time to read the reviews on line. read more
