Mike you are awesome!!! Super satisfied how everything went. I went in for 1 nose piercing on each side. Super chill and calm inside I was completely comfortable. I will definitely be back for another piercing!!!! Highly recommend coming here.

Sanletitbee, thank you for the beautiful, exotic, and uniquely me hand tattoo. My experience was personable, knowledgeable a with a touch seriousness, but the results were beyond my expectations. I have already recommended Skinhibitions (YOU) to my friends and neighbors.

Alright, let me begin by saying I have anxiety and tend to overthink things especially permanent artwork. However, tattooing is therapeutic for me & I love all of mine. Two of my five (so far) have been done at Skinhibitions by BJ! My very very first tattoo, a snag grab outline of a cherub from Pinterest. To this day I still love the tattoo, as it means a lot to me! It was a forearm tat and I'd came by the shop the day of my 18th birthday after school, BJ was kind enough to take me as a walk-in (pre pandemic in May 2019). I air dropped the image and requested adding my great Mommom's birth and death year. She's passed that same year, on Valentine's Day. First impressions, from an inexperienced-never got a tattoo before-teen, i was nervous for sure. But BJ lent me a stress ball, went through the steps and let me make any changes needed with the stencil. I had none, and as an artist of my own merit (not tattooing,,,) I knew I had to trust him to do his job! He did NOT disappoint in the slightest, and again, was very thorough in laying out aftercare process and checking on if I needed a break. Turns out tattoos really are an addiction because I make it a game to get one in every state I visit. Now for my most recent experience, since 2019. I follow their Instagram page for the shop, Eric (the owner's), and BJ's page. I always love to keep up with the artists and the shops I have gone to, because with time they only get better! Fast forward to January 2022. I recovered from COVID, tested negative TWICE, and while I was sick and stuck in my room for two whole weeks I spent that time painting, sketching, playing Xbox.. sure.. like most people. But I'd sketched out multiple flash sheets of tattoos I plan to get over the next few years in my attempt at getting patch work sleeves done. So, I figured.. "if I feel like I'm dying now and I live I should get another tattoo". Cue me emailing BJ asking for his availability. He luckily had an opening the following Friday, I was off (and again, cleared to go back to socializing with the rest of humanity), so I Played Russian roulette with the designs I made and at random picked one to email to BJ, asked for an estimate so I could take out cash + tip ahead of time and GLADLY showed up. During this second tattoo by BJ, my 5th and most recent tattoo to date, he was yet again very accommodating and considering the state of the pandemic very very safety oriented. The shop was damn near empty, just him and myself. Another couple of people came early for their appointment following mine, and he'd kindly asked them to come back in an hour or so that we would limit the amount of people in the shop- considering everything. I loved my experience, and already got more in mind for BJ to tackle and put his spin on my sketches to be transferred into tattoos. If you're curious, it was a Victorian / 1800's inspired candle holder. Don't ask, I just thought it looked SICK. I love it Whatever bad reviews on here, know I put too much detail to be capping about my experience. So, just don't be an ass and respect the artists!!! This is permanent, they do things for a reason. Trust their process because everybody is different, what matters is the work turns out beautiful and HEALS NICELY TOO. So listen to your artists!!! They know more than you!! Thanks again if you read this far & BJ I hope to see y'all soon!

For my sister and my 18th birthday we went to get tattoos. We all couldn't have been happier with the results. Our artist was named Eric and was a fanatic, kind, funny guy. I definitely recommend this place and will be coming back!

Skinhibitions is a top notch shop! Very clean, nice area, great artist etc! BUT! The real gem is located in the shop, first booth on the right- TMNT theme- say hey to "Uncle" but to y'all he's to Donnie!! Donnie has done all of my tattoos from wayyy back in the day when he was getting started!!! So to see just how he has perfected his craft and still striving to learn more and gain more skills is just amazing! But on to why I'm here..... last Saturday my brother wanted to get his first tattoo - a portrait of his mother- yes his first tattooo a portrait! So we took that drive Woodbridge to get Donnie to be bless him!! I was impressed with the level of professionalism that was shown and one would think it would slack off because we know one another, the level of treatment I received was that of any other person coming in for a tattoo. He fully explained everything to my brother, gave him tips of what he should do prior to the tattoo ( eat, get some sleep, bring headphones etc). Throughout the entire tattoo he made sure my brother was okay, offering break if needed, and also just good words of encouragement! The tattoo came out amazing and I was throughly impressed!! So if you want great quality work from a great artist (not a tattoo man) then head on over to Skinhibitions and ask for Donnie!!! Tell him his Niece sent you! ; )

I must say, Skinhibitions has yet to disappoint me so far, this time Eric did a small hand tattoo for me, he was super quick and it looks great! My opinion of this place is the same, I'll recommend these guys to anyone who asks!

    Nose piercing scarring

Ok. So this review is a little overdue. But I came here and got my tragus piercing done at the beginning of last year. The healing process was not for the faint-hearted but I knew it would be ok because I know how my body responds to piercings and heals in time. The guy who pierced my tragus was really nice, knowledgeable, professional, and funny. He did a great job making sure I was comfortable and giving me instructions on how to care for it during the healing process. It was a good experience and here I am a year later with a beautiful piercing, new ring and all. I think he gave me his card, I'll include his name if I can find it. Now, with that review I know you're wondering why I'm leaving 3 stars. Well, I had such a great experience my first time that I returned a second time about 3 or 4 months later to get my right nostril pierced to make for a double nostril piercing (I already have my left nostril pierced and got it done years ago somewhere else). So, when I went to get my right nostril pierced I was hoping for the same guy who did my tragus to do my nose. Well, it wasn't fated in that way. A different piercer did my nose and same routine, I was made to feel comfortable, this guy wasn't as impressionable but whatever. Anyway, I sat down and the guy marked my nose for where the piercing would be and I asked him to adjust it slightly because where he marked it first did not look symmetrical to me. At any rate, he marked the adjustment, let me check it, and it looked good. So then, he went in and pierced it....he quickly put the ring in and passed me the mirror. Before I could even say anything about how OBVIOUSLY crooked AND ASYMMETRICAL the piercing was and how it was clearly not on the spot where he'd previously marked, via my request, he said "your nose is crooked so I pierced it here and this jewelry is smaller than your other ring so when you put in a ring that's the same as the ring you have in your left nostril and it heals, it will look nice and symmetrical." Well, here I am 6 months later writing this review to tell you that not only has the piercing been healing quite poorly (in regards to scarring) but it is STILL as crooked as ever EVEN WITH a piece of jewelry identical to that on my left side. This guy also didn't give me any tips or information for aftercare, which I'm assuming is because I'd clearly had my nose pierced before but even still, it's good to be told as a refresher and so you know that the person putting the hole in your body actually knows what they are doing and talking about. Also, looking back, if the guy was unsure about where to pierce it, or felt uneasy about placement, he could have easily asked me to remove my little left side ring so that he could see exactly where that hole was and line it up. In conclusion, that first experience was 5 stars but the second was definitely 1 star so I'd average it out to 3, personally. Anyway, I'm really enjoying and loving my tragus and I plan to go somewhere else to get my right nostril re-pierced this weekend for my birthday (yay!). I hope this review helps somebody, I'm also including pictures of my tragus and the outcome of my right nostril piercing (that was supposed to lead to SYMMETRICAL double nostril piercings) with this review if you want to see some pictures of the work.

Its like owning an exquisite masterpiece. That's how I feel about the brilliant piece of art Eric Rhea tattooed from my toes around and up my calf. Nothing beats that little happy bubble when someone at the gym, in a store or on the street says "Hey. I love your tattoo" I've even had people ask if the vine and flowers portion are real, a sticker, etc... I was first introduced to Eric's talent through the many tattoos he'd done for my personal trainer at the gym. They were simply stunning and it was clear that he had a talent for realism which was something I was definitely interested in. I'd spent well over a decade thinking about the tattoo I wanted and my trainer said when I was ready to let him know and he'd put me in touch. Every once in awhile I don't do things small. I had one meeting with Eric to discuss my ideas for my tat. My first tat - and not some cute little spot of ink :-) I discussed the meaning of my tat and the elements I'd like to include with him. And then I did the hardest thing an artist can do - I left the artistic details, colors and composition up to someone else. OMG Eric Rhea is the most amazing talented artist. None of this tracing paper stencil crap. He pulled some reference images of various tigers and hummingbirds to look at, then when I came to my first session he just picked up a pen and freehand drew the entire tattoo design on my leg. After sketching things out on the skin, he just started in inking the outlines. What was even more impressive was his typography work. I've been setting type for 20+ years and I wish I had the sick raw talent for creating lettering that Eric has. The tattoo was completed over several sessions. Since this was my first tattoo, Eric was very good at explaining aftercare at my initial consultation so I had everything already on hand at home to keep it clean and make sure it healed right. That attention to clean, safe tattooing was evident all over the workspace - starting with the autoclave for sterilizing things sitting right next to the tattoo chair. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. And I already know the next thing I'm going to be back here having Eric tattoo. They really are like potato chips - you can't have just one :-)

Eric did a tattoo for me and I absolutely love it. He made sure I really liked every element of the tattoo before he went to work. Very talented guy, and if I ever plan on any more tattoos or know someone who wants one, this is where I will send them/go!!

I had a huge Phoenix tattoo on my thigh from a previous artist that was plain and just an outline. I found Donnie on social media and scheduled to come in. He was extremely nice and professional and I gave him free range to take my mediocre tattoo to the next level and he delivered that above and beyond! His price was fair and he did a damn good job! Every time someone sees my tattoo that are amazed at how great it looks! Highly recommended!

My new tattoo. Love it. Thanks Donnie.

Waited 20 years after getting my last tattoo. Worked up the courage to walk-in to Skinhibitions just to browse. Donnie made me feel at ease so I decided to get my tattoo done right there. He was patient with me until I settled on what I wanted. My tattoo looks amazing and was done exactly as described by me. Will be coming back to get more. Thanks so much Donnie, and see you soon. I was recommended to BJ by my roommates. I stopped in after work to show him a picture and get a price. 30 minutes later I walked out with my new tattoo AND one of my old tats touched up. Bj was awesome!!!! Professional, artistic and incredibly knowledgeable. Also very affordable. I saw some of the other artists working and feel you really can't go wrong in this shop, but I definitely recommend giving them a try and if you can, request BJ

Summary: I went to Cobalt for a large cover up tattoo on my back. They did a horrendous job in our…read morefirst session. When I complained, Cameron (the owner) was dismissive and insulting. Several other tattoo artists in other shops have validated that this is unacceptable work. I am completing my project at a different shop and have been deeply distressed by this situation, since it's not going to be easy for another artist to fix Cobalt's malpractice. The full story: After seeing Cobalt's great reviews, I contacted Cameron with pictures and details of my cover-up project. He referred me to his apprentice, Belle, because her schedule was open and he was confident she could do the job. I met Belle for a quick consultation. She listened to my concerns, shared some ideas, and conveyed a lot of confidence. I left feeling excited to work with her. At my appointment, she showed me her design (a large mandala) and said the whole cover up would take 4-5 hours to complete. This was quicker than I expected and I was in no rush, but I trusted her judgement. After three hours, Belle said she had mostly completed the line work except for touch-ups to make the weights even throughout. She had made good progress on the coloring and shading. She estimated another 1-2 hours would be needed, and we scheduled a second appointment. Later, at home, I looked closely at photos of Belle's work and my heart sank. The line work is imprecise and lacks any symmetry. It looks rushed. I kept thinking, "this looks like a doodle." I could say more, but the photos speak for themselves. I looked again at the design and was shocked to notice strange glitches that suggest it was made with AI. It's clear where these glitches threw off Belle's line work. I raised my concerns with Belle over text. She claimed that she had planned on redrawing most of the lines, which is not what she told me at the end of our appointment. She insisted she was using a technique called "blood lining," but other artists tell me that blood lines are done either with no ink or very light grey ink, not black, and they should be drawn carefully, not as a sloppy first draft. Belle sent me a rendering of what my completed tattoo would look like, and it shows many of the errors fixed - but it also represents many hours of reworking what she had already drawn. She also denied using AI. I turned to Cameron over text, who offered to take over the project 6-7 months later but would not find time in his schedule sooner or refund me for Belle's time. He said, "If you don't trust Belle, and you're unwilling to wait patiently for me, then I can't help but feel this would have happened no matter which artist you'd chosen." Direct quote. I've since met in-person with a much more experienced tattoo artist who pointed out that, also, the bottom of the tattoo is off center by close to an inch, and the lines of my old tattoo will absolutely show through in areas where Belle said they would be hidden. This artist estimates 10-15 hours of work to make my back tattoo presentable. My take: Cameron was careless in assigning a large mandala cover-up to his apprentice. Belle does not have anywhere near the experience required to handle what I now know is an advanced project. Instead of owning up to his mistake, Cameron doubled down. This shop gets many five star reviews, so they are clearly capable of satisfactory work, but they are evidently not capable of accountability when they make serious mistakes. I feel vandalized and ripped off. Please reconsider trusting these people with your body.

A Masterpiece of an Artist -- and a Place That Feels Like Family…read more I don't even know how to begin describing what Lucio at Dale City Body Art has done for me. There are tattoo artists... and then there are people like Lucio -- people who put their heart, their spirit, and their entire soul into their craft. People who understand that sometimes a tattoo is not just ink on skin, but a piece of your heart you're trying to keep alive. Lucio didn't just give me a tattoo. He gave me my loved ones back in the most beautiful, sacred way. He brought my grandma and my brother to life on my skin -- two people whose memories mean more to me than anything. When I look at these portraits, I don't just see artwork. I see their smiles. I see their warmth. I see their love. Lucio captured something I thought was impossible to recreate. And he did it with gentleness, patience, and genuine care. What makes this even more incredible is that Lucio squeezed me into his already busy schedule -- and he did it while feeling under the weather. Most people would reschedule. But not him. He showed up, poured every bit of himself into this piece, and still exceeded anything I ever could've imagined. That level of dedication is rare. That level of heart is priceless. This shop... this whole team... there is something special here. You can feel it as soon as you walk in. Everyone is talented beyond belief, but more importantly, they are kind, welcoming, humble, and real. It doesn't feel like a tattoo shop -- it feels like a family, a place where your stories matter and your memories are treated with respect. Lucio, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for giving me something I can carry forever. Thank you for being patient, for listening, for caring, and for treating my loved ones with the delicacy they deserve. You don't just create art -- you heal people through it. And I will never forget this experience. If you are looking for someone who will treat your vision like it's sacred... if you want a piece that carries emotion, life, and soul... if you want the kind of artwork that makes your heart stop for a moment -- go to Lucio. Go to Dale City Body Art. You won't walk out the same. This place is everything. And I will cherish what they gave me for the rest of my life.
