This was an awesome choice. Dr. Gerstein's team set up an appointment within a week and were super easy to call and schedule with. The actual office is called Meridian Dermatology. Dr. Gerstein himself was super down to earth, relatable and smart. I had a long list of questions and he was able to answer all of them in simple, understandable ways. I'd done a lot of research on skincare as well, and he was able to debunk and explain every topic I brought up. He didn't seem to be in a rush and was super open and honest. He had a student helping him and she was super sweet and also very smart too. He let her step in and explain a few things and it was clear that she knew her info. They gave me incredible advice and wanted a follow up appointment in a month. In the past, I've felt like some doctors just prescribe pills every time you have a question or problem. Dr. Gerstein did prescribe medication, but we went back and forth about possible solutions and which path is best, etc. I feel really good about the plan we decided on and completely trust him. I didn't feel rushed but was happy to get time back in my day. An odd thing is that they do not take credit cards, but they do take Zelle, Venmo and cash. Either way you can opt to have the bill sent home with you if you like. All in all a good experience, would recommend for your skin needs.

This is for my son's wedding and I wanted to make sure this was reasonable. My tan lines were fairly light but I am wearing an off the shoulder dress. When they didn't respond after three days, I called and left a voice mail. They then responded via email. I set up the appointment for 1pm for express spray tan. The day of my appointment, they called me in the morning and asked if I could come in by 10:45 or 11. I thought I could make it by 11. It turns out I couldn't get there until 11:15. The clerk/sprayer operator acted very put out even though I was doing them a favor by changing my appointment. I let the bronzer sit on me for 8 hours and I did not wear a bra. She told me that I should not wear one until I rinsed off unless I wanted lines. I definitely did NOT want lines....that is what I am trying to avoid. I did the express. I should have only had to wait 4 hours. I waited 8 for good measure. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED! I don't know if the photos reflect it well, but I still have lines....which will show up in photos and I have lines on my wrists. Maybe my wrists weren't straight when she sprayed them. This was not a good experience for me. I'm not dark skinned, and these were not dark lines to begin with. These photos are from 28 hours after being sprayed.

Four years ago, she discovered a spot on my arm, but didn't expect it was a problem. Out of thoroughness, because she is a good Dr., she decided to biopsy the site. Though unexpected, it came back as melanoma and I was immediately scheduled for surgery to remove the affected area. I owe my life to her because she took the time to check a spot that was only a little bit questionable. Thank you, Dr Huddleston! Her bedside manner is the best and she takes the time to listen to any concerns and to offer suggestions to protect my skin.

Indulge Salon still earned five-stars from me - but Jewel was really the reason my experience was so wonderful. Jewel exceeded my expectations when I arrived for my appointment. She was on time and I really liked the pleasant surroundings both in the salon and in her private area at the back. Her products were top of the line! The European facial I received was a French line of items that she also sells (but she's not pushy with the sales at all). The facial was relaxing and rejuvenating; both for my face and for my mind. I left feeling cleaner and prettier, and it was noticeable for days after. My immediate thought at the finish was how many people would love to experience this treatment. I have been coming to IU Health's Dr. Christiane Machado in Carmel well over a year now since…read moremoving back from Phoenix, AZ. Although I was given subpar treatment (it's extremely hard to find a dermatologist that doesn't have a six month wait. I'm not sure if this is just the Indianapolis area or not), I persisted because I knew acne treatment was a long process that took time. When I arrived today at 3:25 p.m. for a 3:20 p.m. appointment an elderly couple was in front of me and the receptionist was trying to get them taken care of as fast as possible. When I finally had my turn with another receptionist next to her, it was probably 3:30p. Check-in went smoothly. I sat down to wait, and another elderly white woman walks in. At which point, she is also checked in smoothly. She was early for a 4:15 p.m. appointment with Dr. Machado. Less than two minutes later, she is being escorted back. I hear one of the receptionists say to another receptionist that I had been waiting and my appointment had been at 3:20 p.m. Then (of course) whispering ensued, and about 5 minutes later I was called back. The nurse who took me back was frank when I asked "why did the other woman go before me?" I expected her to say something along the lines of "it was urgent," or something of the sort -- something completely understandable. But, no. She said "you were late." I said, "So, someone who had an appointment about 50 minutes after mine was able to be seen because of something out of my control, when there is a ten minute leeway, and I was only five minutes late?" In her frankness, the nurse says "yup." I think they could sense how upset I was, so Dr. Machado magically appeared about five minutes later -- with a different nurse. In the meantime, Dr. Machado ensues in the most hurried and disrespectful appointments I have yet to have with her (and each of the four I have had with her are about the same). I correct her on the pronunciation of my name every time, I have to tell her I'm in a same-sex relationship, so I don't need contraceptive, every time, I have to tell her what face wash I am using every time (what are they scribbling if not these small facts?), and, the worst of all I have to tell her what problem areas I do and do not have EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. This is the last time I will be coming here. Because although it's a long wait for other dermatologists in the area, clearly they are worth every bit of dignity they are probably giving to their patients.
