The owner and artists at Skin Science immediately made my granddaughter and me feel welcome and comfortable. When we tossed out ideas, the artists immediately brainstormed images with us, a fun and exciting experience. My tattooist was sweet but focused. I barely felt any pain. She was finished much more quickly than I expected. I'm so thrilled with the monarch butterfly on my shoulder! It healed within a few days and was never sore. Chloe's swirl around her ear is beautiful! This is a great place for a first timer! The staff will work with your ideas and come up with something you will love. Do it! read more

Twice I got pierced here by Shelby (double second earlobe and double nose) and both times they were noticeably uneven. I am very disappointed with my experiences so I went to a different piercer for my nose. read more

Do not see Grace. Do not see Pinky. Do not go here for scar coverups or memorials. --- So I want to start this by saying that I am editing this review from five stars down to one. I would not be editing this review except for the egregious harassment and condescension artists and piercers at this shop have shown. I went in with a group, my mother and my brother, for memorials tattoos for my late grandmother last week while the three of us were in the area for the funeral. We all got birds in different styles. My mother and I had tattoos done by Oddy (and I have to say, he was absolutely wonderful and I would still highly recommend him) however due to time restraints, Oddy was not able to do my little brothers tattoo (a line work cardinal) and we were instructed to go back later that night for Grace to do my brothers. The stencil Oddy drew up for my brother was detailed, beautiful, and perfect for a memorial to my grandmother. But the tattoo Grace gave my brother was shoddy and rushed, with missing shading, shaky lines, continuity/lighting that didnt make sense, and did not match the stencil. Grace tried to claim it was due to scarring on his arm but me and my brother both have multiple tattoos over similar scarring and have never had an issue like that. Grace simply didn't have the skill to complete the tattoo. My brother reached out to Grace for a partial refund and was ignored for days until he posted on IG about the issue (he was responded to immediately after that and told to call the shop directly). One of the piercers, Pinky, then started harassing my brother on IG about his scarring and claiming she's not surprised he's being difficult because of his "history" alluding to his scarring. We never met this woman, never even saw her. She was not in the shop when we went in. My brother called the shop and had a short conversation with the owner, in which he was asked to change his review. He refused. She hung up on him. I told him to email them. He did. Only then did he get the partial refund and tip back as requested. The situation seemed over. Until Pinky, the piercer that we never met, started messaging my brother again today saying that "no one should walk into a tattoo shop like that" referring to his scars. The fact that Grace messed up a memorial tattoo, ignored my brother, the owners hung up on him and tried to get him to change his review for a refund, and the piercer is actively harassing my brother for his previous mental health issues has all drastically changed my opinion of this shop. I would never recommend this place again and I STRONGLY advise you to stay as far away as you can. EDIT: I just called Skin Science about the harassment that Pinky is sending my brother. I was informed that Pinky no longer works there and hasnt for a while due to constant mistreatment of their customers. Pinky now owns the piercing studio Piercings by Pinky on Troup Highway in Tyler However this shows the fact that Grace or another artist is friends with Pinky and offering customers' social medias to Pinky when customers complain. Pinky is still harassing customers on behalf of Grace, even after being fired by Skin Science. I think that still speaks volumes to the professionalism of Grace at Skin Science. read more

Have gotten so many tattoos done by almost all of the tattoo artists that are there and can't complain about the outcome. The vibe is always family vibes and just the atmosphere is why I keep going back. Can't wait to get a few custom pieces done to add to the collection. Grateful for the owners Cricket and Shelby for always making me and everyone welcome. I see them as friends now not just the owners of the tattoo place. I will always recommend anyone wanting a tattoo to come here. I wear their shirts to show off their clothing too. read more

The employees were amazing and friendly. My tattoo came out great. (don't have a photo) but the line work and detail was really good and I can't remember the persons name but they had blue hair and snake bites. Very sweet read more

I am very disappointed in Grace from this studio. I went in for a memorial tattoo for my late grandmother, a Cardinal. Cody/Oddy was going to do it, but due to time restraints he could not fit me in because he didn't want to rush such a meaningful tattoo. He told me Grace could do it and to come back later that night. Cody said it would take 1.5-2 hours to do my tattoo and Grace was finished in 70 minutes. I have scarring on my arms which makes the tattoo process slightly more difficult, but this tattoo was rushed and sloppy. I have posted pictures on google reviews. The underside of a leaf is unshaded, lines cross over each other, and there's a complete absence of continuity with the branch between the talons of bird. The linework of the body of the bird is warped and makes the bird look disproportionate as well. I reached out to Grace asking for a partial refund and I was refused, claiming it was due to my scarring. Grace, this is not my first tattoo over similarly scarred skin. My other tattoos do not look this bad. This was a sloppy tattoo done with haste and carelessness. read more

I got a double conch piercing by Shelby. He was fast, efficient and really easy to talk which help the piercing go by faster. The piercings for a double conch was only 40$ which is super affordable. I will for sure go here again! The place was super clean and the sanitation is taken very seriously. Shelby answered all my questions relating to future piercings and was very helpful. read more

I would not recommend going here, they messed up my piercings. I wanted a rook and a snonch and got a double rook instead. not only that but when I went in to get it downsized, they used horseshoes on my rooks when that isn't the appropriate shape for rooks. I had to go to another place to replace the jewlery for one of the rook. I took out the second one because my ear anatomy could not handle a double rook. save your money and go to a better place. read more
