What a great place to learn to ski! I took my 4 children ages 9-18 for their very first skiing experience. I paid for a private lesson for our family. It was just $60 for the first and then $40 for each additional person. The instructor was amazing! He went way out of his way to help my kids learn. After the lesson was over he kept checking back on us through the day and helped them as they improved. The cost for rentals and the lift tickets were a bargain! The entire staff was super friendly. I love Anthony Lakes Ski Area!! It has a ton of terrain for such a small mountain, isn't usually too busy, gets tons of snow, and is affordable! It's a beautiful drive and the staff and locals are really friendly. They make an amazing Bloody Mary in the bar and the cafeteria has good food too. My favorite ski area in the world. I've skied every mountain in Montana, Idaho and Washington and this little area has better snow than any of them. Reasonably priced so a family can ski without taking on a second mortgage. For comparison sake, my family of three skied three days for $105 son 12 daughter 6. One lift ticket for just me at Stevens pass is $95. If you have a chance spend the day here and you'll come back every year. No lift lines whatsoever and runs long enough to burn your thighs the first time down. read more

Beautiful setting, reasonably priced, excellent for novice skiers as well as more advanced skiers. No lines on a Saturday! The bar had a nice variety of beers on tap and the food offerings, although typical bar food fare, was fresh and well prepared. Again, reasonably priced. Easy place to fall in love with. No lift lines, oftentimes great snow and weather. Everyone on staff is super helpful and friendly. The Nordic area is well designed and is an excellent place to get a workout and enjoy the beauty of the Elkhorns. Starbottle (the bar) is a really fun joint and even has live music from time to time. read more

Just returned from an excellent weekend of powder skiing at Anthony Lakes Ski Area. Slogan "Same as it ever was", and this sums up much of the charm of this ski area with one three person fixed chair coupled with a ski lodge right out of 1965. Low prices, easy parking, no traffic, no lift lines, fresh powder all day long (in the trees) and very friendly employees. This was my second trip to Anthony Lakes, and I'd like to give a special shout to Josh who runs the place. He is extremely friendly and eager to accommodate large groups. When I visited with 20 friends from my Seattle based ski group, Ski Buddies, Josh offered to keep the kitchen open an hour late to serve dinner to our group. I also saw that Josh opened the kitchen early last weekend to provide food to a local group who were planning a day of cat skiing. I took my family to Anthony Lakes for some spring skiing on closing day. Snow was great! Live music, friendly staff at lodge, retail shop, ticket office...... and then a blue hair girl chair lift operator ruined the day. My 15 year old daughters 1st time on ski's and she falls getting off the chair lift. Not un common anywhere you go right? Well this lift operator yells at her, picks up her ski and throws it about 10ft and tells her to get out of the way! Doesn't even try to help her up! Obviously has some superiority complex and thinks she's much cooler than she is. My family and I have traveled all over Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming this year skiing and snowboarding and let me tell you....with all the great things about Anthony Lakes, it only takes something like this to make sure we don't come back. Sorry but there are way better resorts that want your business. And if you live in the Boise area.......Bogus Basin, Tammarack, Soldier Mountain, and Pomerelle will treat you much better. read more
