Hiring Tom to drive us around was the BEST decision we made during our wine tasting weekend!…read more First, Tom is extremely courteous and attentive. While wine tasting, Tom would go back to the car and grab a box for our purchased wine. He'd work with the tasting associate to load up our goodies and would carry the box back to the car. Second, Tom is extremely knowledgeable. While I somewhat expected him to know a few things about the area, Tom seemed to know EVERYTHING about the various wineries, landscape and viticulture of the region. There were many times I noticed the tasting room associate looking at Tom for information, and he would kindly jump in and finish THEIR story. Kind of entertaining to watch. Third, he is very trustworthy. His business model is that he meets you at a predetermined location (i.e. your hotel) and then drives your car. Because of this, we arranged for Tom to drop us off in downtown Walla Walla and he drove our car back to our hotel so that we only needed 1 Uber ride and had our car for the morning. Extremely convenient and I would have zero issues doing that again. Lastly, the price is worth it. The fantastic service aside, it was very worth the money to avoid driving intoxicated. If Tom is available, you NEED to book him.

Pros: - Beautiful Rooms! Love all the decor and products…read more - Some rooms have patios. - Lovely and pleasant staff. - Morning breakfast. - Peaceful location. - Great surrounding views. - Tasty food at the restaurant with an ample selection of local wines. - Private - Pool & yard games. Cons: - Secluded. You aren't walking anywhere nearby except the vineyards or to a nearby residence. - Expensive. - No gym. - No real sit down bar or tv's - Other than the restaurant, pool and paddling the storm drain, there isn't much to do on property. It's worth visiting if you're more into relaxing. I would personally rather stay closer to downtown Walla because I like to walk around and adventure. I did feel the rooms were overpriced, but at least there was a nice breakfast in the morning made from scratch!

We loved this place! It's a small resort in a beautiful, remote setting. Staff was very friendly…read moreand helpful. Other reviews mention the minimal staff - I considered that a plus. We felt like we had the place almost to ourselves and enjoyed the serene quiet and privacy. The room was very well designed and exceptionally clean. The property is well thought-out with things to do and places to sit and enjoy the view. We will definitely be back!

We have been using Elmer HIll with Mid Columbia River Guide Service going on our 2nd year. Elmer…read moreknows the Columbia like the back of his hand. We first came down in January of 2017 with my father Edward H. Cotten retired USAF who had terminal lung cancer, keep in mind that my father had a very hard time buying a $5 lure let alone a river trip. All my Pop's wanted to do after retiring was to fish.. Elmer was a Rock Star and treated my father to a fishing trip of a lifetime. My Pop's caught Keeper sturgeon and did it comfortably he was not disappointed and neither were we. We will continue to fish with Elmer for as long as he is on the river and Lord willing we will be able to see his son grow up to be a River Guide as well. All of the staff that Elmer employs are top notch and if for some reason Elmer is busy with other clients we have no problem fishing with Fred or whomever Elmer puts us with because we trust him. Looking forward to many fishing seasons to come. Our next adventure will be this fall on the only wild stretch of the Columbia for salmon!!!!! A BIG thanks to Susu, Elmer's wife for supporting him and allowing him to make his customers happy. Without a great Woman we are not able to be great Men. Although I have only been using Elmer for a couple of years I fully trust him to treat us with honesty and integrity. Elmer was recommended to us by one of my best friends Larry Lombard who I trust 100%, so I don't understand a 1 Star review. I guess you can't please everyone. Thanks Elmer and look forward to seeing you in the Fall for Salmon!!!!!!!
