So my brother in-law got me a pair of Renegade sunglasses from Skeleton Optics for my birthday, as an FYI I didn't know any of that at the time, they just looked like a pair of shades to me. When he first gave them to me, I didn't think much of them, simply by how they felt among other things I just assumed he got them at a CVS or Walgreens. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I decide to look up Skeleton Optics to see what else they have because I liked how they fit my face shape, needless to say I was absolutely floored when I discovered my glasses were over $250. I'll get right into it, I'll start with the case. The case was the first thing that made me think these were cheap Walgreens or gas station glasses. The case is a simple cheap generic hard case, but the thing about the case that threw me off was that it had no markings, as in - at all. No symbol, no logo, nothing, just a black (logo absent) case. The second was the frames, they felt cheap, brittle, and light. The hinges felt like dollar store hinges, nothing even remotely in the realm of a $100 pair of glasses let alone 250, I mean.. wow.. Next were the Skeleton Optics Logos on the sides of the frames, both of my little square logos were not centered properly before being "glued on".. just ridiculous. Lastly, the lenses. Supposedly Zeiss right? I say "supposedly" because unless you told someone they were Zeiss lenses, they would have no way of knowing, in fact, I'm still not even really sure they are actually Zeiss lenses if were being honest. So why do I say this? Well, the lenses are literally just blank plastic polarized lenses.. Thats it... There are no markings, no indicators, nothing that would insinuate that these lenses were made by Zeiss in any way. There is no Z for Zeiss anywhere on the lesnes, there are no model etchings on the lenses or codes, there isn't even a P for polarized on the lenses. They are quite literally absent of any logos, markings and etchings. I mean there were so many question marks for me, and so many hang-ups when it came to these glasses I began to wonder if my in-law got scammed, I asked him if he bought them off ebay, or amazon or something, and he told me he actually got them from the site which is bonkers. I have Costas, Maui Jims, and Ray-Bans, and none of them have ever felt, or given off a vibe as cheap as these Renegades have. I mean I got a generic hard case with no brand or logo on it, brittle cheap frames, abysmal hinges, off centered logos glued on the sides, and to top it all off lenses that seem to be absent of any markings or etchings they are even from Zeiss. I am not sure I've ever been so excited to update a review! The new Owner's of Skeleton Optics are taking this company above and beyond consumer's needs. They reached out to me in regards to my review from year's ago and wanted to make things right from the poor experience I had with the previous Owner. Not only were they extremely generous with my Husband and I but they took the necessary steps to ensure that they have absolutely gained customer's for life. This is not your typical sunglass brand/franchise. This is a company that backs it's products, makes quality products, cares about their customer's, and is proud of their product. I have never been a person to buy expensive glasses. I saw these glasses today and try to pair on and was just blown away from the comfort feel and view I had all sending outside in the sun. These glasses are extremely light and feel well built only time will tell but as for now I am very content with my purchase and would definitely recommend appear to others.
