Budget Handyman…read more Tyler is a soft spoken guy and respectful. When I first met him he seemed trustworthy, but my experience with Tyler was not good. Therefore, I want to make some points that may help you if you are thinking of hiring him. First of all, Tyler sometimes cancelled his appointments to do work, and when he did not cancel, he was always late. I received many excuses from Tyler for why he could not come, including that he was sick with food poisoning, that he was having car problems, and that he was having problems with his phone. He was very apologetic when late, but he rarely texted or called to let me know he would be late. Furthermore, he would tell me he was going to get lunch and come back in about a half hour, only to come back close to two hours later. All of this would not have bothered me if he had completed the work adequately and there had been no other problems. I hired him to do sound proofing on a wall, and he did a good job on the wall. However, while working on the wall he accidentally got drywall mudding on the ceiling. He then attempted to fix the marks on the ceiling by painting over them. The problem was that even though he tried two shades of paint, he failed to match the color, which left me with two shades of paint on the ceiling. That's when things went wrong. I suggested it might be easier just to paint the whole ceiling since he couldn't match the color, and he responded with a text saying my ceiling was not covered in the payment and if I needed the ceiling repainted I would have to pay extra. Even worse, he claimed there were scuff marks on the ceiling that weren't his fault, despite the fact that my entire condo, including the ceiling, was painted before I moved in in March of this year. In other words, he made a mistake and then blamed me instead of fixing his mistake. Unfortunately, I had already paid him for the job at this point, and he never did fix his mistake. Please take this into consideration before you hire Tyler, so that you don't have an experience like I did.

Porch sealant must be applied when the weather is dry for 72 hours. Unfortunately I had the porch sealed in October and it rained almost every other day the next week. I really appreciated that and thought his offer was very generous. Fortunately the weather turned sunny and the porch was sealed. He did a beautiful job. The porch looks great and water just beads off. I would definitely use him again.

He sprayed some product on my walls (busy work) and then left the remnants all over the floors. He told me he always cleans up after himself. He claims "he takes care of his customers" but if tardiness, unproductive and unprofessionalism is how he gauges his customer service, then he is not your guy. He refuses to give me my $1250 deposit back and just get paid for the supplies and the minimal amount of work he did, so he basically stole money from me.
