He not only corrected a long list of poor workmanship, but also did beautiful, high-quality carpentry throughout my home. Previous handymen had told her it was impossible because the wall lacked studs, but Craig figured it, and installed a sturdy handrail that has helped her immensely. He also took the time to fix a shower door when he was over, clean out the downspouts on the gutters, nail down some lose shingles on the roof, and generally just take care of some odds and ends. My grandmother has not stopped raving about what a nice guy he was, that he genuinely cared about her safety, that he went above and beyond, and best of all, his prices were very reasonable. My girl and I moved to Bucktown from Tampa, FL last August. We bought a top floor condo in a 3…read moreunit building. Having interior access to the private rooftop played a big factor in our decision to purchase. One of the first things I wanted to do was get a wooden deck installed up there. After a lot of research online and receiving quotes from 3 different companies, I decided to go with Lucas and his guys at PMG. They weren't the cheapest but they did have the best references and also allowed me to come visit a job-site in Lincoln Park where they were building 3 separate decks on a single building. Once I saw their work there, it was a no brainer. I had them build me a large cedar deck (65' x 18'). They did a first class job from start to finish and it turned out absolutely beautiful. Now, that spring is approaching, I am going to have them build me a pergola at one end of it. I was surprised to see that they didn't have any reviews on here. So, that's why I wrote this. I figured I'd let the rest of you who may be looking for a carpenter know what good work they do. I highly recommend them to anyone!! From the very beginning, they worked with our space and our design requests and made recommendations based on their experience that we knew we could trust. During the building phase, they reached out with design options and recommendations, and we felt like they listened and understood what we wanted. They even matched our current paint and worked with our current fixtures and outlets. Installation took a little longer than expected because they weren't satisfied until it was perfect, and we appreciated their attention to detail. In the end, they delivered on time and on budget.
