Let's start up with I went online. I needed to rent a vehicle. SIXT rent a car gave me a good price. It was $383 for seven days. Can complain about that. Everything started when I get there. Customer service this gentleman right here start up with me showing up there. He's in his cell phone. I guess playing games he told me he rented the car to someone else he made a few phone calls to me without success. I didn't receive the calls. We rented a car in London outskirts. Nobody said the rental facility was within the Congestion Charging Zone, which would require me to log in, create an account and pay a $15 fee. Easy. Instead, had no idea I was in violation, so SIXT charged me for violating the zone and a $40pd administrative fee, all without my input - but not to worry, its been paid (by my cc) for $179.06. Then upon car turn in, a team of two went over the car for 10 minutes and found a small scratch on one of the painted wheels. Paid $258 for a scratch - but I did do it and it's my fault. Once home, received a bill for $140. Never explained what it was for nor was I successful in getting ANY additional information by phone or email. Paid it because I was threatened with collections. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM SIXT AGAIN. They show a great upfront price, but are predatory in their additional charges. Shame on you SIXT! The worst in the industry! read more

I have been a National customer for years and I have found them becoming more pricey for local short term rentals. Near my house, I walked past this Sixt location several times and decided to have a look at the car selections and the price. I was completely shocked by the low prices and very few taxes and fees related to the rental. I selected Mercedes GLA250 for under $30.00 per day. The pickup was so simple and likewise on the drop off. I am set to rent again this Friday for the weekend and a drive down the to the Keys. The app was easy to download and setup. Had a great rental experience at Sixt 5th street , Miami Beach FL. The store was clean and spacious. There was only one desk open with one person ahead of us, didn't had to wait too long at 11:20am. Your manager is a terrible human being, Who just repeated the same phrase "nothing I can do" back to back in a calmly hostile and aggressive manner. Her behavior continued even after I let her know that I was here for my father's funeral. She did not even make an attempt to check the system while she sat there with a bucket filled with over 50 keys. For many years I rented high-end vehicles from this location as a loyal customer. This location is only a few blocks away from our office when I'm working in Miami, first time arriving I was very surprised on how clean and modern the store was. Unlike other rental places I've see in South Beach that remind you of a run down train stations lost and found office lol From my first time renting I've observed not only the cleanliness but also the agents wearing white dress shirts and everyone smiling (very refreshing) Also the customer service stands out, if there are people waiting in line the manager offered waters and other staff reassured everyone that everyone would be helped shortly. At the desk the process reminds you of a swift check in to a high end resort, very informative, pleasant and personable. Few times I had a scheduling conflict with work and the agent worked quickly to resolve my issue. For work I travel a ton using few different rental company's that I have memberships with and I can easily say that this location by far is the most pleasant. One more thing that has been very consistent is the cars I reserve, clean & almost exact model I choose during booking if not better. Last few rentals I also had a pleasure of having Anthony as my agent, very attentive and goes above and beyond to resolve any issue and to accommodate me in any way. 5 star customer service and as I've stated before very refreshing for mediocre South Beach customer service that I'm used to. After my first bad experience with Sixt (to update on my review below, the refund was processed), I was really hesitant to try using them again but their prices and fleet availability were very appealing so I gave them another shot. I am so glad that I did! I've since rented from Sixt three times and each time, the process has been super smooth. The pickup, drop off and even reservation extension were so easy to do and during one reservation, they even upgraded me to a nicer car. All the agents that I've worked with have been wonderfully helpful, upbeat and approachable. I'm not sure if I just caught Sixt on a bad day my first time trying to use them, but I've been very impressed with the service and product they've provided since. We booked the car the night before, when we came they said they don't have the compact car until 13:00 pm, basically reservation of less than 24 hours is not guaranteed. They clearly don't write anything about it in the reservation, I asked them to show me in the term and condition and they could not. Great the car company in the Miami area and I hear they're expanding. I had originally made a reservation with Hertz Rent-A-Car but when I got to Hertz in North Miami, they told me they were out of cars and they could not help me. So even though you have a confirmation number and you're promised to car, with Hertz that apparently doesn't matter. On the other hand, I called the Sixt 800-number and within minutes they had me hooked up with a nice car. I chose the office in Miami Beach on fifth street. Nice location, nice atmosphere, friendly people with professional fast service and on top of that they had a great price even beating their competitors prices. Thanks Anthony for taking care of us. And you have to cross a very busy street to get your car. As of next month in done with these people. They say that if you rent several times a year you get discount. Absolutely not true. I prepaid for a car rental from Sixt in early February 2018. Upon showing up less than an hour after my "scheduled" time, they informed me that they gave away my car and that i would need to pay for a premium car. Apart from this likely being a lie (and possible fraud), it's at the very least a scam and very poor customer service. I prepaid for a rental car. They gave it away. Upon driving through some of Florida's toll roads I later received a bill for $12 worth of tolls and $65 worth of Sixt administrative fees. They charged $5 for each toll charge even though the tolls will show up as a single invoice to them. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. AVOID!! SCAM OPERATION! read more

Lately, lacking. :-( I have been renting from this location for a few years now and used to have a great experience every time, but in the last ~6 months things have really gone down hill. The service reps are nice, but incredibly slow. The process of picking up a car takes up to an hour and of the 6 desks they have in this expanded location, only 2-3 employees are ever working. Once, they didn't even have a car available for my pre-paid 4 day reservation. Really? No vehicle available? A bit shocking. The air conditioning on the Volkswagen car that was given to me was not working properly. I had to return the car a day earlier because it would go into power saving mode whenever I slowed down or stopped at a light. When it's 90 degrees you need air conditioning. They should have told me that this would go into power saving and given me the option of renting another car. This was not offered. Also when I returned the car they said they would give me a credit and they did not. They charged me $79.69 for rental from May 22-5/23. We booked our rental on Expedia the day prior to pickup. It was a bit cheaper than any other major company and offered mini coopers as their compact car. When we got there though it was a bit of a nightmare. The staff started trying to sell us on upgrades from a Corolla to a Camry. First, I thought we reserved a Mini Cooper, why were we talking about Corollas? Second, when he told us is as only $10 extra/day for the Camry and how much nicer of a car it was, I said no. He practically scoffed and said most people don't have that reaction to only $10 extra/day. No, an extra $10/day wouldn't have broken the bank, but we didn't care about having a Corolla. Further, it would have added $70 to our $215 total rental. Maybe most people just don't do the math, but it would have added an extra 30% to the total cost. After that, we were pushed for the $25 day insurance policy even though I already declined insurance when I booked online. He told me that most regular auto policies don't cover rentals. Even after I told him my insurance did cover us on rental cars, he pushed and pushed. I even stepped away to find my insurance card, sat down and he followed me out continuing to reiterate that most insurance companies don't cover rentals in the most condescending way. He said he would need our insurance information. He pushed so much that I tried to get to get my insurance agent on the phone at the time, as it was 7AM back in CA, I wasn't able to, so we added the $10/day insurance to our rental. Shortly after leaving, I received verbal confirmation from my agent that we were indeed covered and did not need the extra insurance coverage. We had to go back to the office to get the additional $10 taken off and no apologies were made. We ended up with a Mini Cooper which I'm still not sure if it's because it's what we booked originally or if we were "upgraded" from the Camry for the trouble. We were also told we should purchase the $8/day toll package if we were going to be driving through toll roads. If not, we would incur a charge of $5 plus the toll fee for every toll. At that point I was so fed up that I said no, we would just pay the individual tolls. Since we had the car for 7 days I still think this was the cheaper option as there were only 2 days we drove through tolls. Overall, the Mini Cooper was definitely more fun and sporty to drive on our week long trip, so it was worth it to have it. It was also very easy to drop off at Miami Airport, but dang, I have rented a lot of cars on business trips with Hertz and other reputable companies and have never had such a hassle. Never have I been treated so poorly at a rental office. I also sent this information privately to their customer service first and received an email back only saying they couldn't discuss with me because I wasn't the driver nor was my email address recognized. Yes my husband was the main driver, but I made the reservation and with MY email address, the same one I sent the email to customer service from...zero apology or acknowledgement of how we were treated. I had a very good positive first experience with this car rental company which I was expecting. I purposely chose this location because I've read good things about it. Francesca (I believe) was the young lady who helped me at check in. Very polite very professional and made the experience a good one. She told me they only had a Cadillac SRX available which was fine with me. It drove perfectly and it was in mint condition. Also in mentioning the customer service - I believe it was Sophia who called me the day after my rental period was over verifying if I checked the car out. I'm guessing someone at the airport forgot to do that. But I appreciate her word choice. Instead of saying "if you don't bring the car back you'll be charged another day" which I've been told before she said "I see you were suppose to return the vehicle yesterday. I hope everything is ok. Just calling to see if you returned the vehicle or if you'd like to keep it another day" two very different tones. I respect and appreciate the way they spoke to me and handled the situation. Check out was also very smooth, but it was done at the airport. If I'm ever in Miami I would choose this place again. I didn't give it 5stars because the parking lot for the cars is across the busy street which I found funny. read more

FOREIGN CAR RENTERS BE AWARE! I cannot recommend anyone to rent a car here if you do not live in the state -- or even better -- in Miami. This is because of the impossibility to correct erroneous charges on your credit card from abroad. Although we booked through Expedia and had prepaid the car, they charged us twice for the car. Ever since I found the second charge on my credit card, I have been trying to contact them but although I have reservation number, receipt and credit card number ready, the staff at Sixth "do not recognize" the reservation. At the same time, they are able to convey details about my booking. I am not sure where the logic lied herein. I am still in the process of trying to get some help via my credit card company as the company Sixth is obviously profiteering on foreign customers. To be frank, the entire car rental experience was bad. At first, when we arrived, it took them more than an hour to get us a car. The car we had prebooked was not available. Victoria S, who assisted us, took an hour to find us a substitute car. We returned the car in time. The guy we met when returning the car, Brian, obviously registered the car as returned half an hour after we had actually returned the car. This we can see due to social media check in:s stating that we had returned the car on time and uber logs. THIS IS A BIG HEADS UP - do not think you are "all set" although they do claim that - make sure to get a confirmation of time for car return. All and all, our trip was delayed and we paid twice. When I turned the car in on time after 3 days, the daily rate had nearly doubled. I explained that I paid in advance and was charged the full amount, yet the Sixt customer service said sorry and offered no explanation for the additional charge... Ironically, the website still has the car at the rate I thought I was getting. Took a screen shot of it and sent it to their customer service. Still no explanation... I wanted to return my Sixt rental car two days early because I was renting another car (FROM SIXT) and it made the most sense given the logistics I had coming up and that I wouldn't be able to get back down to Miami easily midweek from Fort Lauderdale due to family circumstances. I thus called the Sixt customer service team on Sunday, the 13th of September, around 1200 EST and spoke to a lady on their team to ask and confirm if I could return my vehicle early and be reimbursed for the two outstanding days rental (keep in mind if you don't prepay this is a standard service - they will only charge you for the days you use the vehicle and you can return it early). I did this as I had already inquired with the Miami 5th Street branch to see if I could do this and be reimbursed for the two days and they said I needed to call central customer service to get this approved as they couldn't do it without customer service's prior approval. I therefore called customer service, endured their now normal, yet nonetheless impressive 30 minute wait times per call and the lady I spoke to at Customer Service checked my reservation and informed me she was making a note on my reservation that would allow me to return the car early and be reimbursed for the final two days (keep in mind I was renting another Sixt vehicle in its place). I then called the Miami 5th Street Branch back and they said they could see customer service's approval and I could bring it in early. I WOULD NOT HAVE RETURNED THE VEHICLE EARLY OTHERWISE. I only did so because I needed to get a new reservation with Sixt from Miami airport for an extra week and couldn't easily complete those logistics during the working week. Despite all of these guarantee, they then went back on their guarantee and charged me for these days and said they will not reimburse me any of the days. On top of that when I picked up the Volvo SUV in question at the start of the rental it was badly damaged with the undercarriage dragging on the floor. The branch obviously knew this and gave me the vehicle in this condition at closing time, so I went to the vehicle alone - to find it in that state and there was no one around to show the damage to. I then had to drive to Fort Lauderdale with it in that state and try and change it at the FLL airport which altogether added another two hours of run around. And still they are happy to steal my money - it's quite remarkable. I have been using Sixt since 2015, am a Gold Card member and have spent well in excess of $5000 with the company and this is how they reward the loyalty. I will seriously advise anyone looking at renting with Sixt from now on to rather just to avoid the hassle, hidden fees and surcharges and rent with a company which doesn't treat its loyal customers as such. read more

Horrible branch , ordered a truck at 9 on Monday , didn't have it there, she tried to give me a smaller one . Than when I returned the truck after I paid for a week rental and 700 miles . She changed the days to 5 so they can charge high mileage . Which now cost more than 7 days . Now customer service on hold for 50 min, i got a picture of that to email to corporate office .And not helpful at all . They obviously do it in purpose to cheat their customer . Rented a Benz C-class for a day trip to Key West. Pre-paid option is nice. The website is easy to navigate and staff is helpful over the phone. Booked my car weeks in advance with no issues. Got my ride first thing in the morning. Process took less than 10 mins. Was offered an awesome upgrade deal. Done. It comes with unlimited miles. The tank is already full. Just make sure you refill the tank before dropping it off. WIll definitely go back to Sixt the next time I need a ride. Thanks! read more
