It was my first rental car experience with Sixt during the beginning of December and I can definitely say that it was a pleasant one. We arrived early in the morning to a very clean and nice lobby. We were helped promptly and were asked forgiveness since the cars hadn't been cleaned yet. That's fine with me, I'd rather wait for a clean car than leave with a dirty one. 15 minutes later we were driving off in our newly cleaned, and upgraded car due to the inconvenience. Best car rental experience! Love this place! I came here to leave a great review, because of the positive experience, and was surprised by the folks complaining. I've had a great experience each time, and I've rented from this location several times. It's always a seamless experience. My father, sister, and I we went in for our reservation on a Thursday afternoon. We were greeted by a friendly representative who was finishing up with a customer. Within 30 seconds, we were being helped. Helen (I believe her name was?) is awesome. She was so friendly and efficient that ... we had the car keys in hand, and everything done, in just a few minutes! What a difference from the typical car rental experience, where one is stuck in a line of 10 people, a representative who seems like they'd rather be anywhere-but-there, and then a multitude of questions and things to sign once one finally makes it to the desk after a 30-minute wait. The car was spotless, drove well, and return on Sunday was a breeze/fast. Received the receipt (all accurate, no hidden charges, and exactly the price quoted) via email a few hours later. Zero stars. I made a reservation they charged my credit card at that time. I cancelled reservation several days before pickup, which was confirmed via email. I also tried to cancel online and it showed it was already cancelled. They do not want to refund my money calling me a no show. Run from them to one of the national companies. Straight to the point: I made a reservation on March 3rd 2021, then I cancelled it on March 5th 2021, only a day and half later. Why did I cancelled it? because after I checked Sixt.com there was no phone number listed, no customer service, no call center available so I immediately though: "what if I pick up the car and I have a problem on the road, or there is an issue with the car, or something happens?" In other words they do not have phone customer service whatsoever in case you have a complaint, you have issues, or anything else. The only way for you to get in touch with them is by email, that's it. I cancelled it and I was charged with $300 for cancellation fees, so let me put it clear: I never drove their car, I never used their service, I never even placed a foot at their pick up location but still Sixt charged me $300 for doing nothing. So they earned that amount of money for NOTHING. After I emailed them several times they replied to me finally saying "as a good will we will charge you only $75" and I said no. This company is a SCAM, they have the worst rating for any rental car on yelp, they do not warn you they have no customer service available on the phone in case you have an issue and they also ignore your emails and requests, they simply do not care about us nor keep their customers satisfied. As today March 18th their phone does not work, you get an auto response saying "because of the pandemic we have no service on the phone". Weird!!! cause other companies, even smaller ones, do provide phone customer service. Beware, do not rent a car from them cause you will regret it. read more

This is a HORRIBLE COMPANY. They had my original post taken down. I was with a friend in Miami, traveling from CA. We had scheduled go rent a car to drive to Key West. Hours before we were supposed to pick up the car we learned her husband had been hit by a car and killed. We had to immediately fly back to CA. This company refused to give me back the refund because "it wasn't my husband that died." THEY KEPT MY MONEY EVEN THOUGH I COULD PROVE EVERYTHING. This company is a scam. I rented a car at the MSP airport. They tried to put a few extra charges in my invoice which I disputed in person and was told they were removed. Yet my credit card was charge $50 than I owed and the invoice came w charges I didn't incur. Have made repeated calls to get my refund but no luck even though they keep saying I will get a call back, the refund and a new invoice. None of that has happened. Don't rent from them. read more

RIP off. Not user freindly. Sneaky company finds way to charge the customer extra fines. Are they hoping the customer won't check their bank statement to find out? After renting a pick up truck for one week I returned to location on time and waited to be taken care of. The csr suggested that I should go put one gallon of gas because the company "charges ten dollars for every gallon and sometimes people get mad because they get charged a lot more than was expected" I went to the gas station and filled up the truck as much as I could leaving it passed the full line. Returned. Waited. Surrendered the car. My invoice reflected a charge for an extra day of rental. I inquired by email. Was refunded for that extra day. Few weeks later I received a 60 dollar invoice for toll charges. Even though I stopped at the pay by cash toll options this company charges a processing fee for something they don't have to do anything about. I payed my own tolls and still they charge 5 dollars for each cash transaction. I was trying you out since I rent almost always from Enterprise. Never renting here again. Enterprise has a more forgiving grace period and more transparent policies. read more

When I arrived at the location they informed me they did not have any 7 seaters available and were only able to give me a 5 seater car. Due to the size of my family I had to rent another car at this time ( which was very expensive due to it being last minute) Since my transaction was prepaid, I did not receive any refund after months of complaining to the company. Rates are reasonable for higher end cars. Car pickup is on rooftop parking of a 7 story mall parking garage. Very crowded and hectic parking garage. Takes at least 10 minutes to maneuver the garage with the car in or out. No one checks your car back in. You park it then take an elevator to drop off the keys. You just have to trust that they check full gas and bill it properly. Car exterior was dirty, wet and not washed well at pickup. OK prices but not the better quality of service you get at other rental agencies like Hertz or Avis, etc. read more

As you can imagine this left us upset, especially because it was my birthday and we wanted to ride around a little fancy. I made a reservation via Orbitz for a car rental for Christmas day. I ended up here ONLY because no one else was open that day nearby. I called about 4 times prior to showing up to make sure their hours where correct and verify that my reservation would be fine (I would be driving to Tennessee). Upon arrival, I was treated with sass from the customer service representation but I brushed it off because she was working on a holiday... She proceeded to tells us that the car COULD NOT be driven out of Florida/Georgia area or else the insurance would NOT apply. She told us that if something happened to the vehicle we would be charged 50 CENTS PER MILE for a tow truck. When we realized that we wouldn't be able to rent from there, I broke down. I thought we wouldn't be able to rent a car and our entire trip would be postponed. There was NO empathy, no "I'm sorry to give to bad news", nothing. Of course I left without renting. A few days later I received an email questionnaire asking about my experience. So naturally, I explained the HORRIBLE time I had. I got a response saying that I should not have used a third party such as Orbitz because they display all the correct information... I knew I would clearly have to come on here and prevent other people from renting when even the company itself doesn't care about customer satisfaction. If you're going further than Georgia and Alabama, don't rent from this place. The website claimed unlimited miles, but buried the exceptions. If you're going to run a trustable company clearly state the sentence "Unlimited miles within the state of Alabama, Florida and Georgia." Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, and majority of your competitors have no problem with out of state travels. Horrible rental car service and Fort Myers airport booked a car on the 12th from the airport the agent over the phone doesn't tell you they don't except electric banks chime card which is understandable I get to the Counter and I'm told I can't use my chime card so I asked for my refund the 15th same day picking up the car didn't get the car so I was expecting my refund within five business days instead six rental car didn't do my refund until the 19th overdrawn my account and said that my refund has went through on the 19th So I have to wait 6 to 7 business days when I didn't get a rental car on the 15th and no refund or car for the days I booked it horrible service read more

I've rented from many other rental companies and this is the only place I've ever encountered where if you don't purchase the min $50 toll service, which I didn't because my tolls were going to cost less than $25...they charge you an admin fee of $70!!!!! I called this store to re confirm that my prepaid reservation was all good to go so that I wouldn't have any problems the day I went to pick up the car. I spoke with Johanna, who was so patient, kind and very helpful. Johanna informed me of exactly what I needed to bring with me on the day I came to pick up the car. We confirmed my reservation. I had a week of vacation scheduled which had to be cancelled last minute because of snow related flight cancellations. This trip included 3 flights on 2 different airlines, 2 days at a spa in Miami, 3 days at a hotel in Key West, 3 nights in a hotel in NYC. The only company that did not give me a refund was Sixt. Furthermore, I spent hours trying to get in touch with someone via phone, email, and internet, and never was able to speak with a human being. Stay away from this place. I would of given this place a 0 starts if i could .We had to change the vehicle 3 times!!! At first they gave us a vehicle that was nasty inside . The seats all sticky with rest of candies and coffee , and smell like pee. Then they changed us to "a cleaner one" but still very dirty . We took it anyways and like 20 min away we stopped at a gas station to get water and we noticed the back window was completely broken and it wouldn't closed. We called and they told us to come back to get the only other one they had left. When we got back they tried ti give us the first nasty vehicle we first got and we told them that it was the same that it was nasty to which the guy answered "well spotless is not going to be this is as clean as we could do" ...waooo! This was absolutely nasty . I am not a picky person but it was sooo bad disgusting. At the end he went to try to get another car and left us waiting for almost 30 min on the roof top where it was really hot. Rented again from Sixt on Coral Way, and once again I am a happy camper! The customer service provided by Sabrina was top notch. Not only was this young lady pleasant, respectful and courteous, she was friendly and simply a joy to talk to. I had made a previous reservation about one week prior to our trip, but unfortunately the type of vehicle that I reserved was not available when I went in to pick it up. Sabrina (and Ana) made it possible for us to receive an upgrade at no extra charge, and frankly that saved the day for us seeing as we would've had to come back the following day when they had more cars available.
