Worst customer service by Damian. While he was on the phone with another Avis employee he was apparently joking about staging a walkout to screw over the customers. That's something paying customers are just dying to hear while they are forced to stand in a stale smelling room that hasn't been touched up in ages. This is the guy Avis chooses to take down personal driver's license information and debit/credit card numbers. The sign on the door telling customers that no employees may be onsite says it all. WARNING. Make sure to check all documents and charges. I got tricked into paying for insurance when I had already prepaid my rental with my Amex to make sure I got covered through the credit card. After I had done my pre-paid reservation, they asked me for another card because my credit card was declined on the rental desk according to them because of the expiration date. They never mentioned that the Amex had already been charged for the rental and they proceeded to use the new card to charge for insurance coverage. They are deceiving. Don't go here. read more

Somehow during my booking process Avis added my old corporate rental number I no longer can use back to my reservation. I literally removed it during the reservation process and the system put it back in. I only found out three days before when I got a reminder that noted I need to bring documentation. I called the rental counter and the gentleman answering told me we could work something out when I got there. Turns out "work something out" meant $250 MORE for a four day rental on top of Avis' inflated holiday price I'd booked at. What a way to treat a customer who rented with you guys for corporate work on a weekly basis for years! Or any human being given that your system did this. On top of it, the desk agent was terribly rude. He'd called me earlier in the day to confirm my reservation and when I walked in his first action was to chastise me for not returning his call. read more

I arrived at Avis only to be told by the person behind the desk that they don't have the vehicle I reserved. I couldn't believe it!!! This was at 6:30 pm and we were planning to leave at 5:30 the next morning. The man behind the counter wasn't even apologetic or helpful. His attitude was like oh well, too bad. I ended up having to drive to the airport and rented from another company. This is the second time this has happened to me at this location. Their location is so convenient to me so I gave them another shot. Why offer reservations if you aren't going to honor them?? Zero rating. We rented a vehicle from this location that should not have been allowed on the road. We unknowingly headed from Michigan to Montana with bald tires. The tire pressure light kept going on, we had to stop at every gas station along the way driving with white knuckles as we were on a schedule to pick a grandparent up at the Bozeman airport, and hoping there wasn't a blow out, until we reached our destination. When we did and called AAA, the AAA guy said that the vehicle we were given was unsafe to drive and should not have been rented to us with the bald tires. We will never jeopardize our family's safety again by renting from this Avis location. read more

Horrible experience! Rented a car ($99/day) with a bad battery from Budget. Called them when it wouldn't start. They offered to send roadside Assistance. Then I get a Bill FOR $218 for a Jumpstart! I have Triple A I could have used for free if they told me there would be a charge. I WAS CHARGED $447 for 2 days rental of a defective Nissan SUV. I love this convenient neighborhood Avis. I rent from Mr. Ramos at this location several times a year. The cars are always ready and clean. The personnel are professional and nice, and the hours are convenient. I have never had a problem, and I will continue to rent from this Avis! It's all good! (p.s. This business also uses Budget to rent car. After having rented a vehicle for the weekend. I had left my iPad car mount headrest holder in the vehicle, a vital product when someone has children. Having realized the day after that I had left it in the vehicle I called Budget car rental at dade land station to inquire if they had seen it. I was surprised to hear their rude response, that they are not liable for any belongings that may have been left behind in the vehicle and if that was the case, they had thrown it away. I can understand if they kept it to the side for a week and would dispense no one had called or if they valued their customer, could had given them a call letting them know that they had forgotten something. All I can say is next time, when I rent a car. I will definitely not use Budget. read more

So I used budget here, not Avis. But it was the same facility. Damien saved the day for me and I can't say enough about his incredible customer service skills. I had a horrible experience with enterprise that day, in which I had a reservation and they told me they had no cars available for me. I was frustrated and upset, had been going around all of Miami to different enterprises only to have each one tell me they had no cars. I called budget, and Damien was able to secure me a car at the last minute. I literally called an hour before they closed, got there ten min before closing and he was able to get me a car. He stayed past closing to make sure I was all set, and he definitely went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. After having such a bad experience at enterprise, I was so thankful for Damien for his kindness and willingness to help me when I felt stranded. read more

I made my reservation three weeks in advance. I showed up on time and the only front desk person said he had no cars. Also, the earliest a car would be in two hours, and that was an estimate. I called customer service and they said the closest location that had my car was clear cross town. At 9:00 am, going to another location was very inconvenient, and would have delayed my trip two hours. I had to rent with another rental company. When I called customer service, after explaining the situation they said I could cancel but would not get my deposit. I asked to speak to a manager and he said I would get my deposit back. Now I am reading through my emails and get an email from Avis saying I would not get my deposit. What a terribly unprofessional customer service. Stay away!! Under new management and terrible experience!! Have been renting from this location for years and the previous owner and staff were excellent. Yesterday, I pre-paid a rental car through the Avis website like I have done numerous times before (approx 8 times a year). When I arrived, the lady at the counter tells me "we don't have a car for you". I asked for her to get me one and she said it was too late (6:30pm). I demanded to speak with customer service. She gave me the 800 number and went outside to call them., she then turned off the lights and closed the office, even though it was only 6:50 pm and they close at 7 pm. Will not rent from them again. If I could give this place negative stars I would! I made a reservation for October 5th with 2 1/2 weeks anticipation time. Being we always rent from enterprise and this would be the first time we would rent from Budget I called the store to make sure the reservation had gone through and how the policy would work for the pick up of a Tahoe. The day prior to the 5th I called the store and confirmed again I'm very cautious with new experiences, they okce again informed me no worries all set. Friday the 5th I go to pick up my car and the front desk lady informes me the car is not there it's on it's way that I have to wait. I was mad but patient being it's not her fault someone is bringing the car. I waited 1 hour and no car she began calling the "driver" and suddenly they informed her the car was NOT BEING DELIVERED! I panicked and began asking to speak to the manager she told me it was the managers day off. I asked for the owner she pointed me to a card of the owners cell phone number. Immediately I called no answer and left a voicemail, even the lady working called the owner from the store and personal number and no answer. I waited over 3 hours for the car to supposedly get there and it never did, another employee came in as the shift was finishing for the first employee and he tried calling all the budget locations with her to see if I could get a car. This was ridiculois to me I was the customer I called to Confirm and make sure everything was set and ready and that company is so incompetent. Immediately I went across the sidewalk and was able to receive help last minute from enterprise next door! They told me there was nothing they could do and they would get my number to inform me when the car got there! THAT TO ME IS AWFUL I have worked in retail and customer service! The manager never called to apologize for the situation it's to this day the owner never returned my phone call! Ladies and gentleman DO NOT RENT HERE I don't even know why this company is in business they are unreliable. They don't even have their own cars, I asked the employees where they get their cars from that I could go pick up the car from where it was coming from they informed they get cars from third parties this is why the cars are not guarenteed! I had an absolute horrible experience with this place. They are one big scam, especially this location. The front desk person Michael treated me horribly. It was my first time renting a car. I was quoted 185, and I paid that. When i went to turn the car back in, I was "15 minutes late" when we had never set a time to return to begin with. I told him i would get there BEFORE THEY CLOSE and he said OKAY. Long story short, my 185 turned into 267, all for being 15 minutes late. None of that was in my rental contract and when i asked him if there is any way he can help me he dismissed me. This is not even the worst part, i told him i had no more money on my credit card so i gave him my debit. He charged my credit card anyway and now im negative. I called the call center and they were only able to give me half the money back. Then, i asked if i would get charged tolls additional Michael said no. My credit card then gets charged AGAIN 52.70...i could not fight that either. I paid more than 400 DOLLARS to rent a car for less than 2 days. This company is unreasonable, unreliable, and a complete sham. I will never rent a car here again. They made my experience horrible and left me in debt. That employee of yours Michael should really get fired for completely ruining my services, he can be doing it to someone else. My advice is DONT TRUST AVIS. Rip off of a company i swear. Take a bus, youll be better off then renting a car at this awful company. read more
