Second time renting from this location. This is the easiest rental car company to deal with. Were there a couple of issues, yes. Did they get taken care of, yes! My biz partner and I are both Hertz President's Level, and although Sixt is not everywhere...where they are we will be renting from them. More friendly than Hertz and attentive to our needs. I rented a BMW X3 "or similar" with a pickup scheduled for 12 PM. I arrived on time, only to be told they didn't have any BMWs available. Instead, they offered me a Mazda, claiming it's in the same "class." That's laughable--sure, they might be similar in size, but they're nowhere near the same class of car. A Mazda is basic; a BMW is luxury. That alone was enough to tempt me to leave a bad review. I was in a bind so I just accepted the car, and they claimed there's no price adjustment since it's in the same class. Then, it took them 45 minutes to "clean" the car before I could drive off. The vehicle was still pretty dirty and covered in scratches when I finally got it. The employee noticed I'd been waiting a long time and offered a $20 discount, which I appreciated--but 45 minutes for a rental pickup during my lunch break is ridiculous. So, we ended up with a basic Mazda instead of the BMW we reserved, waited nearly an hour for a subpar car, and then, the final straw: a week after returning it, I got an email claiming there was "new damage." Luckily, I took pictures, and the so-called damage was already documented in the rental agreement! This place is either blatantly shady or a complete mess of an operation. I rented a car from the Sixt Miami Beach Lincoln Road location and had an experience that future customers deserve to be warned about. When I picked up the vehicle, it already had several visible damages. These damages were documented in the rental agreement. I also recorded a video on the Sixt parking deck showing additional pre-existing damage on the mirror before I even left the lot. I wasn't alone during pickup -- two other customers who were renting cars from Sixt at the exact same time saw the condition of my vehicle and can confirm it already had these damages. I returned the car early, in the exact same condition as I received it. Sixt inspected the vehicle, reported no issues, and refunded my deposit immediately. Up to this point, everything seemed fine. A few weeks later, I received a surprise $2,565 damage claim for "new" damage that: * was already listed on the rental paperwork, * is visible in my pickup video, * and was not noted at return inspection. Instead of providing evidence, Sixt forwarded the claim to a debt collection agency. No timestamped photos, no return report, no repair invoice -- nothing that legitimately supports their claim. This feels like part of a predatory damage billing tactic. I've since learned that other customers have had similar experiences with Sixt. I strongly recommend anyone renting from this location (or Sixt in general) to: * record full video of the car at pickup, * document every scratch and dent, * insist on a thorough inspection, * and be prepared for unexpected charges even after a clean return. Do not rent a car from this company, SIXT! They are running some type of scam. When I arrived to pick up my car rental, they informed me that I had to inspect the car myself and state if there was any damage. I have rented MANY cars over the years, and this was the first time a rental company has enforced this as their protocol. This was the first red flag! The facets of inspection are not my expertise or field of study. I was caught off guard and also in a hurry so I quickly walked around the car and there was nothing glaring, it looked fine to me. When my rental time was finished and I returned the car, they inspected the car and pointed out a spot that was literally slightly larger than the size of the writing end, of a pen. At first I didn't see anything in the area he was pointing to, and had to move closer to see the dot. I thought he was making a joke and I laughed, but then realized he was being serious. While driving this car, as with all the cars I've rented, I was extremely careful and I drove it minimally. The mark/dot was present on the car when I picked it up. The dot was on the driver's door--I had the car for a week and would have noticed if something new (something that wasn't there before) had appeared on the door. They could not provide proof that the dot was not present when I picked the car up; they had taken no pictures or video. The non-existence of photos or video was intentional, and their insistence that I must do the inspection prior to driving the car away illuminates that SIXT is running a scam. read more

I reserved a vehicle at a clearly stated rate, but when I arrived, the representative (female, black, in her late 20s) tried to upsell me aggressively and added unexpected charges that more than doubled the original price. When I contacted customer service, they insisted I had "agreed" to it, even though I have documentation proving otherwise. It felt like a bait-and-switch. SIXT operates with shady billing practices and zero accountability. I've rented cars all over the world and never had an experience this frustrating or dishonest. Checked in online the night before our trip and when we arrived at the rental location, they said the car needed an oil change so wasn't rentable. They only had a car that would cost $100 more per day to give us. Women at counter said this was the only option so take it or go somewhere else. Asked to speak to a manager and was told to call corporate. When calling customer service they gave the same story and didn't have a manager to speak to. Update 2: they had the nerve to come back and claim 3 damages to the car against me that I did not cause. It is obviously retaliatory. I recently had the pleasure of renting a car from Nick at Sixt Anaheim. I booked an I4 online, but the reservation was never confirmed by Sixt, even after I called them and was assured that I'd have a car waiting for me (but I'm not reviewing Sixt's corporate here) I arrived at the Anaheim branch shortly before they close at 5pm. When I checked in, Nick told me that he didn't have a reservation for me, so I called Sixt while at the branch, and they tell me it was canceled. Really!? Needless to say, my frustration level was at its peak. I booked a fantastic rate and I couldn't find it again. Nick went above and beyond to help me book a new reservation, contacted corporate to help assist to bring the rate on the new rental to be somewhat close to what I had reserved, and got me into a car. He stayed late for me, sent me an email with his info, made himself available, and went way above and beyond what he needed to do to help me out. While I am disappointed with Sixt's corporate, my experience working with Nick completely outweighs the bad. He is a gem and an asset to the Company. read more

I wanted to highlight the excellent customer service I received that Sixt's Anaheim location from Erika and Chad. I reserved an X5 class car but when I arrived they only had X6s available which would be at the same rate. However, since I really wanted an X5, Chad went out of his way to confirm that one was on the way. While there were some technical difficulties with their system, both Erika and Chad worked through the problem and I was shortly on my way. I would highly recommend Sixt's Anaheim location and consider yourself lucky if you are greeted by either Chad or Erika. read more

Customer service was very poor I believe the guy name is Nicolas he was extremely rude talking on his phone while handling me also I called to extend my vehicle but they told me I had to come in so I did they wouldn't take my card payment even though I told them it's the same account the card was different because my card was missing so I had to get a new card I tried making a payment he wouldn't let me stating he needed the same exact card , although I had the car for two weeks already he asked me for the same information that I presented from the beginning which is a statement he kept saying if I didn't show it to him again he wasn't gonna rent me the car which I think is crazy because I already showed that prior he made me call the gas company to verify I was down there for over a hour trying to make a payment and I told him I had to go back to work which he didn't even seem to care about he told me to move out of the way so he could help others while I wait for a representative to come on line he didn't respect my time or anything he kept repeating or I can't let you keep the car which was diabolical because how can I rent it from the beginning without showing proof??? This guy has absolutely no customer service but yet him and his coworker was sitting complaining about customers leaving bad reviews now I see why because their customer service sucks if someone is making the attempt to pay why wouldn't you take their payment so I ended up leaving and I called customer service and they said it was ok for me to resolve it Sunday and to just go to a different location I've never seen a business refuse a payment that's unheard of smh. I wish I could give zero stars for his behavior it doesn't hurt to be kind he actually ruined my whole day and also waisted my time driving 45 minutes just for no resolution.
