What a cute flower, coffee, and chocolate shop! I just wish they had more seating inside. It just happened to be raining while we were on our way for coffee. People will tell you to bring an umbrella to Alaska. No, you should really just bring a really good waterproof hoody coat. It was bulky, but it protected me from the elements. It's just too windy for an umbrella. Anyway, I thought about trying the spruce tip latte. I ended up getting a Dirty Chai. It was very good. I didn't get to try my husband's Mexi-Mocha with cayenne pepper. He really liked the flavors. He's never had a spicy latte, so it was a real treat for him. The shop has some moose chocolate treats, gifts, flowers, and unique gift items. It was my first time seeing Alaskan sea otter fur earrings. An Alaska native artist makes them. The flowers that they sell here look fresh and beautiful. It's very close to the public library and Harrigan Centennial Hall. It was the perfect stop before getting on the bus back to the Sitka Sound Cruise Terminal. It's also a great stopping point after visiting the Baranof Castle State Historic Site on a cold day. It is a quaint little shop. They were giving out samples of Russian tea. It was quite good. Unfortunately they were sold out of the chai peanut butter. We were told by the cruise director that it was outstanding. Guess we will have to try it on the next trip. read more

While we were in port and walking along the main street (seemed to be Lincoln Street), we found this super cute little shop with coffee, chocolates and plants, that we stopped at after lunch. We got a couple pieces of chocolate to enjoy and could have bought so much more, if we were not on a cruise and having to worry about bringing things home. They had a wide selection of chocolates from milk chocolate to dark chocolate and even chocolate covered Oreos. You could get flowers and smaller plants, and more. read more

Visited this little cafe while visiting Sitka, Alaska. The staff were so friendly and, while small, the cafe is so adorable! They had lots of chocolate goodies and freshly baked cookies. While I didn't try the cookies, my friend told me it was the best cookie she had ever eaten in her life, so do with that information what you will. read more

Once again, I have regrettably shopped here out of convenience. I did not want to leave a bad review online. However, after I called the shop, I feel differently. After leaving with $200 worth of sub par floral. I I asked them to pack it up so that I could put it in my box but all of the vases were full of water not a big deal if you don't mind your car being totally soaked, and your work, clothes and shoes, being full of stinky floral water. Called and the employee was not receptive to my suggestion that maybe they dumped some of the water out for transport I know it sounds petty but it's bullshit to be hung up on. Had a hot chocolate on a cold June day (locals even mentioned how cold it was on this day). The drink was tasty and hot. Perfect for this day. A cute spot to drop in for a drink, candy or flowers. The young clerk was very nice and professional. She was polite and smiling as she waited on us. I Spent plenty on chocolates for my mom. Then added a couple single wrapped roses for another family member. We waited over 20 minutes to get the two single wrapped roses. As the clerk in the back handed them to me I noticed they didn't have the requested water tubes on the stems. When I asked if we could get them she gave me a nasty look and mumbled that I could just put them in water. She snatched the roses back and added the tubes, then with the same very unpleasant look thrust the roses in my direction. We left with our purchase, not feeling good about the rude service. Then upon closer look at the roses, noticed the orange wet spray paint on the dried filler. Both roses were wrapped with the same thing. Dead spray painted filler with a fresh $10 single rose certainly doesn't make me want to buy flowers there again. What's up with rudeness? Why? When all we're doing is supporting your business by spending money! read more

They have an espresso bar and we ordered a mocha and an Americano and a cookie. Everything was delicious and there were lots of beautiful chocolates that I wanted to try. The store is central in town and it is worth stop in to look at the beautiful flowers and artsy gift selection. The barista was very friendly and kind. I picked out two little chocolates. The truffles are made somewhere in CA. But the others are made on-site. I went with the Dark Chocolate Almond Butter and the Almonds covered in Dark chocolate and sea salt. I definitely preferred the latter. The Almond Butter was sweeter than I was hoping - it tastes like it had some almond paste mixed in. But the almonds covered in dark chocolate were simple and satisfying. I also grabbed a bar of dark chocolate to enjoy later...probably my after dinner treat! read more

They added an espresso machine in here, so I'm guessing they serve coffee also. Will have to try that soon, this is an excellent store for females of course, because they have all sorts of interesting house decors, from wall hangs to floor mats and from nicknacks to mini water fountains. The aroma in here is very florally and welcoming, which reminds me of the wonderful workers in here are so nice. Only downside of this is, the prices... They can get a bit ridiculous but then my excuse is.. Is because it's Alaska so that makes sense. But I usually go in for the chocolates. read more

I tragically lost my Mom, Dad, and Godmother in 2006 and my brother just a few short months ago. All have been buried at sea in Sitka waters, our favorite fishing area for over 20 years. We have been patronizing the Chocolate Moose every year to purchase roses for the initial services and each year since to sprinkle petals on the water and remember them. We also select a chocolate truffle as part of the tradition. I call the store every year in advance to order stems, plus hoping to purchase their $1 roses (when possible) as we only need the petals. I always know when we arrive that the roses will be there, as it's an emotional time. This year, I spoke to Aurora, who said she had 6 $1 stems left and would put them aside for me. I thought that was very thoughtful, and was prepared to purchase any additional at full price. When we arrived from Seattle (especially heartbroken this year with my brothers ashes), Aurora told us that she couldn't hold the stems after all because she was able to sell them at "full price" and she was sorry but that's "just good business. Why sell them for $1 when you can get more?" My jaw literally dropped. I couldn't even speak and left - my husband tried to make me feel better but all I could see was RED. How insensitive can you be? How RUDE? It's also ironic because I would have paid any price to get roses for my brothers service, it wasn't about the money. I just needed to know there were roses available and waiting for us. We immediately drove to Bev's where she had plenty of roses and I got a lovely assortment. I will now call Bev's in advance every year instead. I'll never patronize the Chocolate Moose again! Shame on you, Aurora. read more

Chocolates are perfect when you are on a vacation. We love the Chocolate Moose. Stay away from the truffles unless you are willing to pay more than I am for chocolate. The choices are many. I am a fan of dark chocolate and nuts, and the Moose was able to give me enough of a variety to satisfy the craving for several days. read more
