I love Lakeside Grocery. Convenient location, friendly staff, currently require masks due to Covid surge in Sitka, and they almost always have have 1/2 price products, including meats, milk and other dairy, plus dry goods. I like Lakeside. It is convenient to the harbor where we live aboard our boat. The management "encourages" us to use one of their carts to carry our purchases back to the boat if we buy more that we can easily carry in our back packs. The variety is fair as I think are generally the prices. My complaint is that the produce (specifically bananas are not consistently of good quality. In addition the sales flyers are not available on the internet or in person until days after they begin.. For example the ad ending yesterday is still posted today and the current sale flyer is not available in store yet. Why? read more

Lakeside grocery has an astounding selection of Asian foods considering the size of the town, and its location in Alaska. Other than that, it is a typical and mediocre grocery store. Would recommend looking very carefully at meats in the refrigerator section, as I had to return several cuts due to spoilage, even though I purchased them well before the cut-off dates on the labels. read more

I love lakeside mainly because it's big selection and I usually go there because I don't have a car. There are a few problems though such as the prices are probably the worst of all stores in Sitka. Most of the people who work there are absolutely nice people but I've been almost harassed by a employee almost every time I've been to lakeside and that is why I'm giving lakeside a 3 star review and not a 5 star review read more
