Most tremendous change in a dog I've ever seen in my whole life! Got this Vizsla hound dog pup from a humane society where she was stuck in a kennel 24 hrs a day for about 4 weeks, malnourished from previous abuse. She was a nervous wreck, so incredibly out of control I almost didn't even get her. Tried taking her pic and she knocked my phone outta my hand. Couldn't walk her on a leash without pulling my arm out of socket, ran like a freight train all over no matter what I tried telling her, jumped on me, kids, wouldn't keep down no matter what we tried- cars, furniture, counters, she jumped at and scratched everything in sight. This wasn't even the worst thing she did- she barked and howled non-stop. She seemed unsure of everything and distrusted us from the start. All night long the night we brought her home from the shelter we tried to pet her and calm her down couldn't. Tried leaving her alone, talking to her, not talking to her, we tried everything and NOTHING worked. She was so crazy my daughter named her Xanny Bar, because, to be honest, if I'd had any I'd have given her some. She was not the dog we wanted and we could not get her calmed down or quiet in her kennel so we put her out in a horse stall out in our barn. My husband said "take her back" but instead I took her to Sit Means Sit in Edmond. I was not too familiar with the place, had no idea what to expect, and to be honest, I thought it seemed overpriced for dog training as I'd seen cheaper day classes online. They kept her Wednesday through Saturday and when we picked her up Saturday afternoon (and believe me, we weren't expecting much because we though crazy like this is rare and there probably wasn't much they could do) we were amazed at the difference. BONUS: We had no idea they would be GIVING US a dog training collar, a pet bed thing, and a leash with a lifetime guarantee (did I mention she chewed through the leash the Humane Society gave me- in about 90 seconds) and they gave us 2 hours of training my family on how to use the commands she learned and our training collar. The transformation that has come over our dog is unbelievable. Best money I've ever spent in my life- our dog is now calm, happy and knows what we are telling her to do. It was as if we didn't speak the same language before, but now after the training from Sit Means Sit, we can now actively communicate and interact with our dog. She doesn't bark now, except when we're outside playing and if it gets too loud I say "Quiet" and she stops instantly. My kids love our new dog and we would not have even been able to have her if it wasn't for her training. Even my husband plans to take her out with him on the farm, something I never thought I'd see because she is so loving and calmly well-behaved now, though she's not perfect yet. I'm not scared to let my 7 year old take her on a walk because she seems to know her walking space, left side of you and never in front of you. My kids first experience walking her left my kids scared to take her out, but not any more. She sits when you say sit and she comes when you say come. She fetches and drops the tennis ball when you give the command and there's no need to get all slobbery wrestling it out of her mouth. I cannot believe the amount of love this dog has brought us in the short time she's been here. She sits quietly with you on the couch and falls asleep while we watch movies together on the couch. I'd adopted Finnegan at 18 months and he was so manic that my attempt at formal treat-training was a non-starter ... he couldn't focus long enough to even think about a treat. There seemed to me nothing I could do to get his attention. At my wits' end, I decided to meet with Lucas and was convinced after the consultation that it was the way to go. I can't believe the change. Finn listens to me, comes to me while off-leash, even while chasing a squirrel! I feel like we are communicating now and have a close bond. Chase has come to the house to work with me on Finn's turf, and the group classes are great, so much fun. Everyone has been amazed at the transformation. Sit Means Sit in OKC has done a tremendous job with our rambunctious Chocolate Labrador Retriever. After dragging my wife across the golf course one evening while on a walk, my wife found Sit Means Sit. We enrolled Rufus James and on Day #1 with Torric and Kayli, there was a big, noticeable positive change in Rufus James' behavior. We have finished the initial training and continue to work Rufus James at home and bring him back for follow up reinforcement training. Although Rufus James still gets overly excited when he meets another dog during walks, he is not dragging my wife across the ground anymore. He is such a different dog now, listening to commands and able to be "Placed" and remaining in "Place" for extended periods, like dinner time. We have had a wonderful experience with Sit Means Sit! We found them on the referral of a friend, as our dog Baxter was having severe behavioral issues that we could not remedy through other training methods. Our schnauzer did the 12-day program with SMS, and we are amazed with the results!!! We just picked him up today, and I plan to update this review after a few months of in-home-continuation training. He is calmer, more responsive, and obeys commands, even with the mailman and other distractions. Issues that we had prior to the SMS training: excessive barking, food aggression, introduction confrontations, dog fights, the inability to de-escalate, barking and jumping on people as they come into the house, a hatred for vacuums & any devices that made noises, extreme pulling on the leash & not walking abeam, refusal to listen to commands (especially if there were distractions), and a refusal to recall on command. Training programs we had tried: self-trained by us, free & paid classes at PetSmart, and a paid praise/reward trainer in home and in public places. NONE of those training methods were able to change his behavior or his reactions. The best answer we had was to mitigate and reduce situations that would enrage him, however we couldn't prevent 100% of his triggers. As responsible dog owners, we felt we owed all opportunities to Baxter to be a good dog. We rescued our other two dogs and do not believe in giving up a "bad dog". Its often a lack of training that enables bad habits to get out of control. This is unfortunately where we found ourselves. We picked up our dog today and are home with him now with our other two dogs, and we are blown away with the changes in Baxter! The owner/trainer Lucas worked with us at SMS and on location at a local home-improvement and pet store. Upon returning home, the introduction with our other two dogs was very good, no barking OR jumping. We've already done continuation training, and trust me, our other two dogs are trying their best to get in the way and distract Baxter, however he is an exemplary dog! He's aced today's homework and his demeanor at home is now more relaxed, in comparison to the previous anxious dog that he was. During his training we received text updates, photos, and videos of our dog's progress. We even received a video of Baxter sitting on a Roomba vacuum as it cleaned the SMS facility. We died of laughter and were also filled with excitement at the progress they made with our dog. His training collar and remote were included in the training (wahoo!), and we also received a leash and a "place"-mat (a location they are trained to sit, which is awesome). Those were nice unexpected items included in the training. This training hasn't zapped his soul, rather he seems very happy at his ability to please us as his owners and to complete our commands. I highly recommend this training program; Lucas and his staff were great to work with and his pride and happiness in our dog's progress is much appreciated. I look forward to watching Baxter thrive and grow in the future and we owe extreme thanks to Sit Means Sit for the breakthrough progress we have with our dog. THANK YOU!!! read more

The trainers at Sit Means Sit were kind enough to show me the levels on my own skin that they use while training. After watching them work with our stubborn dog for just a few minutes they made significant strides with her. We did a 5 day session for her and she is a completely different dog!!! I was amazed! I am so glad we brought our dog to Sit Means Sit! He is a three-year-old lab with about as much energy as it gets. The wonderful staff helped redirect our Dog's energy. After the one hour consultation with Torric, Rufus was already listening to his commands. It was amazing! After the first day of training, it was like I had a new dog. By no means did his personality change, but his energy and focus was redirected to a better purpose. Rufus loved going to "School" and would eagerly look forward to it. Rufus used to hate to get in my car, but after the second session, he now jumps in with no issues. Rufus was never a bad dog, just a bundle of energy. This place is phenomenal. I brought my two Labrador's there who were utter terrorists prior to training. I put them each in the one week training session and came back to Bran new dogs. They were well behaved and obedient like they'd never been before. Torric the specific trainer for my dogs walked me through all the commands and taught me how to maintain there training at home. We have a one year old high spirited German shorthair pointer. While she was very sweet to family members she was not so welcoming to strangers. Coupled with the fact discipline was not her strong suit we needed help. We signed her up for the 5 day class and I was hoping to get back a dog that knew a few basic commands. I was pleasantly surprised when upon her return Lukas had worked wonders. Not only did she sit, heel and stay but she was no longer aggressive to strangers and can walk without a leash. I would be remiss if I didn't let people know the amazing results we received from our training at Sit Means Sit. Prior to training we had what we thought was a typical puppy, a very big one (Pyrenees/Lab mix), who didn't listen very well, sometimes did what we wanted, had some food aggression, and bullied one of our older dogs. After training our very sweet puppy was a different dog. Not only was he well disciplined and respectful to us and our older dogs, he seemed much happier too! He regularly gets on his cot/place on his own before we sit down to eat. He LOVES it! And it is great that he comes when called even if he is running the fence line of our 11 acres. He also behaves better on activities that weren't even a part of the training. He often took a very long time while eating and when he came home, he began eating when we put the food down, and finished it all so there hasn't been one incident of aggression. Additionally, every night when we were headed to bed we had to coerce him with treats to go outside to do his business and then get in his crate for bed and every since training this is nighttime ritual has not been a problem. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome our the Sit Means Sit training, and we love that we can continue training with large groups of dogs, at varying levels of training, twice a month.
