And then, there's the friendly people, always smiling and making you more of a fan of Cantine. I've eaten veggie burgers across Paris, and this place figures in the top three. It's a must visit, and the Cantine at Marche St Honoré has become more than a weekly affair. To sum up, the food and the people remind you of your close friends, and puts you in a comfort zone.

Oh man I was sure I was going to be the first person to review this…read more Anyways, I went to Cantine California at Marche Raspail today, after LITERALLY dreaming about getting my hands one of their burgers last night. I was not disappointed. The pair that own the food truck were super friendly and helpful and enthusiastic about our enthusiasm. It was great. I got the Half Moon Bay Burger: Roquefort, blackened red peppers, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions and of course a special sauce. The burger was done right, had enough fat so it wasn't dry and nasty and the bun was substantial and delicious. Oh, did I mention they offer SWEET POTATO FRIES? This is so uniquely American so obviously I got them. And they were spot on. To end the lunch I had a red velvet cupcake, that they gladly replaced for me when I received it, covered in walnuts (I'm allergic). The cupcake itself was a perfect level of moistness, and the frosting. Oh the frosting. Not cloyingly sweet, and had the perfect amount of cream cheese. I cannot wait to head back here for their blueberry pancakes/bacon combo some morning. (They have bottles and bottles of REAL maple syrup at your disposal...not to mention plentiful amounts of Heinz ketchup and HOT SAUCE. And some sort of caramel for their French toast.) I love all food that comes from a truck, but this place was especially endearing. ENORRMEE coup de coeur!!

The smoked beans weren't your traditional baked beans. Instead, they used black-eyed peas and kidney beans, which made for an interesting twist that turned out to be uniquely good. Paired with the subtly sweet, moist cornbread, it was a winning combo. The process is simple and efficient: order at the counter, grab a number, and they'll bring your food and drinks right to your table. When you're done, you can scan your number and check out directly. For visitors like us who didn't want to download the app, it was just as easy to take the number to the register to pay. The staff were all very sweet and helpful, which made the experience even better. Solid BBQ, smooth service, and a welcoming vibe, definitely worth a visit.

It was just like a cold loaded mashed potato, but delicious!! The Black Eyed Peas inside my baked beans threw me off a little bit, but don't get me wrong. They were still amazing. I got a kick out of the loaded fries because they used whole little golden potatoes and a homemade cheese sauce. We then we added pulled pork to the top for spectacular result. I had a delicious beer that I could not pronounce. We probably overdid it with a large assortment of the meats: specifically pork spareribs, a trio of different types of brisket, and smoked pulled pork. The total came to $95 and it helped us feel a little closer to home. leftovers for lunch !

It was different but nice. The table next to us were from the states as well and we had nice interaction with them as the table was close enough to hear each other's conversation. I would have given the restaurant 5 stars because of the ambiance, service and food being really good. But, for American type food, it is way overpriced. Also, I had to try 3 wines prior to deciding one. I was surprised as we were in Paris and they have a very expensive wine list. Although the portion was large; which made up for having to going through so many to find the right one. I would visit again to try breakfast or brunch as we actually wanted to get earlier reservation for the blueberry muffin...that seems to be so famous.

It's really hard to beat the meh York location, but they served me one of the best ahi tuna appetizers that I've ever had in my life. I still can't get over how pure and fresh it tasted. I've had ahi in Hawaii and this was better. The food was excellent per the usual at a Ralph Lauren restaurant. You really can't go wrong here. Every seat in the restaurant has a unique feel, which made it a special treat for me and my wife. If I ever end up back in Paris I will definitely be visiting here again!
