Excellent customer service with delicious meals and plenty of options on their menu. This is our second time dining at Locavore but first time at Brixton Street in Estancia location. Customer service at Brixton Street, Estancia is consistent with the BGC location. The staff is also very well versed with food allergies. The staff was great every step of the way from seating, to ordering, to delivering our orders on a timely manner and until the very end. Our party of 11 ordered 2 of everything like to name a few of what we ordered are, Pakbet Ratatouille, Octadobo, Oyster Palabok sa Puti, Tapsilog, Boneless Lechon Belly, Dragonfruit chips and many more. We look forward to dining at Locavore every time we visit Philippines. Locavore both provided delicious food and excellent customer service.

I'd been wanting to try Filipino food, and this place came highly recommended by some locals. The food was incredible. I tried the sizzling sinigang, and it completely surprised me. The flavor was sour, savory, and comforting all at once. I also had the oyster sisig, which was crispy, rich, and perfect with a cold San Miguel beer. Every dish came out hot and well-presented. The restaurant itself has a great vibe!!! lively but not too loud. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially since I wasn't too familiar with Filipino dishes. They explained what everything was and even suggested a few must-tries. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Philippines. And I'll definitely come back next time!

We were expecting the long line but, we didn't expect to be 8th in line when we arrived. After about 35 minutes (and about 8 servings of free peanuts), we finally got a table. Once seated, we immediately ordered the sizzling kansi, tortang talong with crispy sardines and kesong puti, grilled sticks of isol (chicken tail), inasal na paa, and thin cut liempo. Yes, we were HANGRY! ALL the dishes must be eaten with rice. The dishes are rich and fatty and you really need the rice to soak up the sauce of each dish. The dishes are simple but the flavors were the right amount of salty, sweet and sour. My favorite dish, hands down, is the Sizzling Kansi. It is seerved with bone marrow and the tangy sauce is perfect with the tender meat. For rice, you have to try their ginamos fried rice. Definitely a place to visit, this restaurant serves no frills Negranese style food. Great place for casual dining with friends and family. :)

Back in the Philippines after 9 years...you can imagine my cravings and appetite…read more Here's what I tried: - Spicy Crispy Dilis: they offered to put the chili pineapple glaze on the side. I'm glad I decide to get it mixed in with the fish. It was still crispy and had just the right amount of heat and sweetness. Eat immediately! - Kare Kare: I LOVED that the tripe was grilled yet still so tender. This added another layer of flavor to the whole dish. The sauce was a smidge too sweet but that didn't stop me from devouring this. The vegetables were nicely cooked as well. Ask for an extra serving of bagoong. - Crispy Kansi: Life changing. The marrow had a slight citrus flavor that cuts through the unctuousness. Spoon some on top of some rice, and top with some gravy = the perfect bite! - Pinakbet: The vegetables were cooked just right. Somehow, the okra was not slimy! I could not really taste the aligue in this though. - Tortang Talong: I had high hopes for this because I love tortang talong. But it was a bit dry, and the kesong puti was so sparse that you don't taste it. - Piaya ice cream sandwich: they had run out of ube and quezo ice cream so I had no choice but to go with vanilla. The caramel drizzle was delicious and almost chewy! But the piaya layers became a bit difficult to eat after being pressed up against the ice cream. I'd like to go back and try the quezo version of this. I think the flavor combination would be more unique. - Crispy Buko Pie: You can really taste the Pandian in this, and you get a generous amount of buko. This should be consumed immediately as well! Bottom line: I would love to keep coming back to this restaurant! The food was delicious and I was impressed by how they made Filipino food "pretty" and not just "brown!"

The eggplant ensalada was fresh and flavorful, and the corned beef silog was a nice East-meets-West twist using Irish-style corned beef. I'll definitely look for Manam wherever I go. It somehow reminds me of The Cheesecake Factory in the U.S.--a place you can rely on for satisfying food. The only downside was service. It seemed like they might be understaffed. My husband's dish arrived about 10 minutes after mine, and we had to ask for table water after being seated. Overall, the food alone makes it worth the visit.

It was an exceptionally hot day, so when we stopped by here, it was nice and cool inside. An amazing way to escape the heat at Greenbelt. We got seated and we loved everything that we ordered. From what I remember, we got some drinks, including some ube shakes with sago, some wine. Food-wise, we got the pancit palabok, crispy patis wings, lumpia, the overloaded garlicky chicken and adobo pork belly, sisig, the watermelon sinigang and I can't remember what else. Anyhow, the watermelon sinigang was excellent. And when the pancit palabok came out, they actually poured the sauce onto the noodles and it felt like I was watching a cooking show with a finale! When I come back to the Philippines, I will for sure come back here for everything! :)

There is just something…read moreso comforting about the thought of having fried egg and fried rice partnered with your main "ulam" any time of the day! As a Filipino, "silog" meals (sinangag and itlog) are a big part of our culture, which explains an abundance of eatery offering these kinds of meals. Clearly, I'm not one to complain and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one! Down south in Don Galo Paranaque, a strip popular for having several local "tapsilogan" - one name stands out - Maty's Tapsilog. I've heard a lot of good things about Maty's from my friends in the south so I decided to check it out. I thought, "Man, this place better be worth it". I mean, I'm traveling to Paranaque (I live in Pasig) just to see what the fuss is all about! Thank heavens I wasn't disappointed! What makes Maty's tapa special is the tenderness of the meat. Definitely cooked the right way. There's really nothing special to expect in Maty's as their menu is pretty simple and straightforward. But what makes your trip worth it, especially for us north kids, is Maty's quality tapa! Maty's has been an institution down south proven by their expansion of 3 branches in the Don Galo strip. One unique thing when eating at Maty's is having a mix of vinegar and ketchup as your sauce for your silog meals. I only found out how good this sauce was when I experienced eating at Maty's. But for you conyo kids, be warned. Maty's is only an eatery so it is not air-conditioned and parking might be a problem. You can parallel park your cars in the streets where there are some parking attendants (just provide tip after). I would absolutely recommend this place just for the taste and price of their dishes. There really is beauty in simple things!

The location is tough. It is in the basement of an old, unappealing mall that strangely charges for basic, unstocked restrooms. Inside, the ambiance feels like a basic neighborhood canteen that was simply given a fresh coat of paint and some wall art. Seating is tightly packed; tables are built for four, so solo diners and couples should expect to share space. While they boast a massive menu compared to other Inasal spots, ordering was incredibly frustrating. Every non-chicken request required the waiter to check with the kitchen, and we were repeatedly told "no"--even though we saw the exact same dishes served to tables around us. The saving grace... the Chicken Inasal is excellent and very reasonably priced. However, efficiency is non-existent. A sign warns of a 30-to-45-minute wait, leaving a dining room full of people just staring at their phones while a massive queue builds outside. A simple fix, like taking orders from the queue in advance, would drastically improve table turnover and customer satisfaction. Great chicken, but the operational management is deeply disappointing. Come for the food, but brace yourself for the experience. Would have easily rated this place with 2 stars. But the Chicken Inasal is that good...

They should just stick with plain bananas. The whole stuffing combination doesn't work. When the food was delivered, the server didn't even acknowledge us or tell us to enjoy our meal. To get our bill, we had to wave at the server who was all the way at the back. Very disappointed at the staff. Some of the food was very good. But, I can not recommend a place who treats their guests in such a way. There are many other great Filipino restaurants with much friendlier staff, such as Manam.
