One of the absolute best dining experiences in Saratoga Springs--hands down. We've dined at Siro's numerous times, and every single visit has been nothing short of exceptional. The food is consistently perfect. Every dish--from appetizers to desserts--is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. What really sets Siro's apart is their commitment to quality and consistency. You can tell there's serious talent in the kitchen. Executive Chef Noah Frese deserves serious praise--his creativity, attention to detail, and execution shine through in every course. The service is always top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. You're made to feel welcome and appreciated from the moment you walk in. Whether you're going out for a romantic dinner, a celebration, or just a top-tier meal in town, Siro's delivers every single time. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and make a reservation--you won't regret it.

Siro's is a Saratoga staple that has been revitalized by the new chef Noah Frese. We visited on a Wednesday night and were greeted by the maître d Michael who is amazing and has been there for decades. The appetizers were all amazing but our highlights were the crab cake, the chopped salad, the crudo, the tartare, and the foie gras. For mains we had the sea bass, the halibut special, the veal chop and the seafood scampi (I suggest adding the pasta). The portions are generous, our waters were full and the drinks were flowing. Chef Noah has taken it up a level. Each dish is a creative, original take on a classic. The food has layers of flavor that shows his serious expertise. We hope to be back again and again.

The original and a must stop after a day of losing at the track. Rocking patio, great bars, free valet parking, excellent waitstaff. Fine steaks, large seafood Towers, tremendous lobster appetizers. Fast kitchen turning out spot on classics. Front of the house run expertly run despite the crush. The international waitstaff is the finest in Saratoga. A taste of old Saratoga that is vanishing fast. Well dressed crowd, sipping Siro's mules and burning through track winnings. A must during every Saratoga season.

Fantastic Birthday dinner with my wife and me. From the warm, friendly greeting from the hostess, Liz, to our servers Umberto and Sebastion it was an outstanding dining experience! My oysters, Caesar salad, and swordfish was great. Wife's scallops were also great. Don't skip the grilled Brussel sprout side nor the desserts! We'll be back for sure!

Coming from NYC, we were not quite shocked by the prices, but if you're not used to dining in Manhattan, you might be. That said, the portions are of the upstate variety, so you may not want to order quite as many plates as you might in the city. (We were bursting at the end of the meal.) Our server was helpful in narrowing down all the things we wanted to order. We were a little more intrigued by the starters than the mains, and so we rolled with the wedge salad, the crispy oysters, and the imported burrata. These were all excellent decisions. The wedge is everything you ever wanted in a wedge salad. Pickled red onions for acid, bacon for bacon, roasted tomatoes, crispy onions for texture, all tied together by a creamy dill blue cheese dressing. I'm not exaggerating, this was one of the best wedges I can remember, and I've had more than my share. The burrata was burrata. The cheese was creamy, paired with some port wine apple jam for sweetness, fresh basil, and hazelnut nougat. It was quite good, if not exactly special, and a hearty plate with the grilled focaccia accompaniment. The crispy oysters was one of the best things I've eaten this year. Perfectly fried fresh oysters are never bad, but they were laid over this incredible corn pudding that was rich and creamy and set off by the bacon and bone marrow jam, and a bit of roasted poblano. Honestly, this dish alone made the entire experience. Truly. We suspected we may be going overboard with the starters, but we were full after they were done. The Falkland Islands sea bass we ordered for a main felt like as much of an afterthought as a $60 plate of fish can. To be honest, I expected to love its Asian flavor profile (miso-marinated, bok choy, shiitakes, snow pea salad, crispy wasabi and shallots), but it fell a little flat. Well cooked, but it was outshined by the oyster dish. One final note: If and when I return, I'll stick to wine over cocktails. I'm not sure if it's because it was a Tuesday and the B team was on call, but of the three cocktails I tried, two were off-balance, and just not of the caliber I expect at this price point, at a restaurant of this quality.

My better half had a Cosmopolitan, which she enjoyed. Started with the charcuterie board (You choose a total of five meats and cheeses). For cheese we selected Burrata (cream filled mozzarella), Drunken Goat (goat / red wine dipped) and Parmigiano (cow / the real thing). The meats were Serrano Ham (dry cured Spanish ham) and Speck Ham (dry cured and lightly smoked Italian ham). OMG. Delicious. And the portions were on the hearty size. For a main I had the Mussels (garlic, butter, white wine, chili and fennel pollen). Another OMG. It was divine, and we had bread to soak up that wonderful sauce. We also had the Lobster Pizza (lobster, tomato cream, spinach, leeks, roasted cherry tomatoes, ricotta and grana padano). This was only ok. Not enough lobster, in my opinion. Overall, a very good meal before the concert.

The remaining slices were essentially on the darker side of well-done, almost burnt ends. For a restaurant positioned as an upscale dining destination on Broadway in Saratoga Springs, I expected much better. The quality of the steak was more in line with what I'd expect from a chain like Applebee's than a higher-end establishment. The service started out excellent, but unfortunately declined as the meal went on. By the end of the evening, we felt largely forgotten.

My wife and I recently celebrated a special occasion here, and overall, we had an absolutely…read morewonderful experience. The food was outstanding. The Tomahawk steak was cooked perfectly, the atmosphere was elegant without feeling stuffy, and the service was attentive throughout the evening. It was the kind of dinner that creates lasting memories, and for that, we are grateful. That said, I continue to struggle with the restaurant's à la carte pricing model. I fully understand that many high-end steakhouses operate this way, but I have never quite embraced the concept. Our Tomahawk steak cost $175 and arrived without a single side dish. The fries and broccolini sides you see here were both extra charges. To be clear, this is not a complaint about the quality of the food or the overall cost of the evening. We knew we were choosing a fine dining experience and were happy to pay for it. My concern is more philosophical. When a guest orders a premium steak, I believe a complete meal should accompany it, with opportunities to upgrade or substitute sides if desired. That approach would feel more hospitable and customer-friendly while still allowing the restaurant to offer customization and premium add-ons. None of this diminished what was otherwise a terrific evening, and I would gladly return. I simply think the dining experience would feel even more complete if the restaurant reconsidered the increasingly common practice of charging separately for every component of the meal. In short: excellent food, excellent service, wonderful atmosphere, memorable evening--just a pricing philosophy that I personally find difficult to embrace.

So here is where today got really weird - wife ordered a filet, medium...it was delivered med/well/well. We call over the server who proceeds to advise, and I quote, "I've seen this before, but due to the color of the sky, your steak may appear overdone, but it's actually medium. Did you try it?". Um - I've eaten at steakhouses all over the world, and that is truly a first. The color of the sky.... Maybe they serve idiots? I can't even comprehend suggesting that...but here we are. This half assed explanation coupled with an awful wine suggestion (insistence), has knocked Salt and Char from the rotation. Here's the weird thing, a month ago, we met another couple at breakfast who said they'll never go back to Salt & Char again due to a bad service experience and I insisted the place was fine. To that couple - my apologies....you were right. Still shaking my head - "the color of the sky"...

We arrived at opening on a Thursday evening and had the place to ourselves. The table we were sat at overlooking the gardens was gorgeous. The service was a little awkward as the server was training someone who was new, but they were very friendly and accommodating. We started with some bourbon cocktails that were just alright. I would say, they don't have the best cocktails. I ordered a gin dirty martini with stuffed olives and I think they just gave me straight gin in a glass with olives. Maybe stick to wine or beer! We were greeted with some nice fresh bread and we then ordered the very popular candied bacon. It was very thick, sweet and savory. Worth trying for sure, I enjoyed it. For dinner we opted for the 3 pound cowboy to share. I had asked what came with the steaks and they said smashed potatoes and green beans, and hyped up the smashed. When served, we got French fries, so this was just a miscommunication because I guess the special came with fries. I asked for a side of potatoes as well cause at this point I wanted to try them. The steak was gorgeous and perfectly cooked, and massive. We shared and had plenty of leftovers. Overall, I would suggest checking this place out. I think some miscommunication may have effected my experience, but the food and ambiance makes this a great destination for a romantic dinner.
