Went in for drinks on Saturday and was having a great time singing karaoke until a birthday group came in- all drunk and belligerent. The girl was (maybe?) the daughter of the bartender. She was ok- but her friend (a larger white girl, dark hair, and obnoxiously drunk) threw my jacket on the floor. Ok- whatever. My partner asked her about it and she went bezerk- started yelling and slapped his hat off as we were leaving. Thankfully a guy in her group pulled her back inside and my partner kept his cool. 3 buddies and I "happened" upon this place one night and we had no "regrets". Vibes were 10/10. Watched the end of the nba game, watched the end of the hockey game, played pool, watched some guy scream at the rugby game on tv, had some fun chit chat between the dudes just for old times sake, made some jokes with the waitress on a "friendly" level, I had some good shots in pool and one time my buddy hit my other buddy's pool shot in on the opposite team. That is one of those things you never want to happen but it makes for a good story. I got some sort of shrimp pasta dish, I liked it. It had coconut milk in it and mushrooms. Honestly I don't love either of those things so now that I am thinking about it I have no idea why I got it other than the fact I like shrimp. I've seen a few bad reviews on this place and I have no idea why. The people there are the most accepting group of humans I've ever come across. They know what they're doing, The food is amazing, the vibe is awesome and best of all, it's a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community with a not only diverse, but ALL LGBTQIA+ staff!! The beauty of it is simply that of course it's not a requirement to be a part of any specific community to be there. It's just people being people, accepting people and not tolerating hate in ANY form. I've done Karaoke there now several times as well. Highly recommend this bar. And I don't even drink!! read more

I guess I'm done with this place. Gave it several chances over the past 5 years, as I know taking over an old business without much capital can be a long process of turning it around. But it seems to have only gotten worse. There are cool dive bars, but this is not one of them. So decided to take a chance on this place after reading the reviews. Can't say I agree with the majority of them. First of all there is no table service which seems normal for a dive bar. The selection of drinks on tap is on point. I had a delicious Elemental Huckleberry cider on tap that was delicious. Yes I needed to say delicious twice. Then we ordered the sampler basket and it was fried to perfection, then onto the pizza which was surprisingly good! Ok so normally their food is pretty good. We've ordered twice before, but it was just pizza and fries. But tonight my wife and I went to order more than that, and our order had special instructions that just got... completely ignored? Fortunately they were minor but it makes me wonder what would've happened if either of us had a food allergy and the guy taking the orders just... didn't bother to record the details. We requested their nachos with no olives or jalapeños. We got both of these things. I requested an alfredo pizza. My wife did not. We both got alfredo pizzas. My wife then called the place to ask why there were olives and jalapeños on the nachos when she specifically asked for these things to be excluded in her phone order. The guy, apparently the same one who took our order and rang us up, claimed she "never said that" even though I was sitting in the car next to her when she placed the order. Word of advice: insist on reviewing the entire order when placing one. The big guy with the big beard who works there either doesn't listen carefully or just doesn't care to confirm anything. If you're allergic to onions and request them out, you could very well be going to the emergency room if you order here. Also don't let the guy hustle you into "signing in": that little kiosk just signs into their loyalty program, it is not a requirement to place an order. read more

I was so disappointed. I came in on a "Pride" karaoke night and I can't believe the trans phobic vibe I got from the door man with interesting teeth and rainbow beard. It was a pride night and giving a trans person a hard time on their I D and just being plan disrespectful and giving off a starker vibe and just plan unprofessional. I ignored the dirty bar and many health code violations but to be treated so rude with no remorse I will never be back. I can't believe I brought my friends here we each had 2 drinks and bought a pizza. I felt so sad to give this place my money. And it's a shame cause the owner and bartenders were amazing but one bad apple will spoil the bunch. My trans woman of color please don't go here I gave this place a chance even with the many Yelp reviews saying they were racist. This is not a bar for ALL members of the LGBTQ Community. We visited Sirens for the 1st time yesterday. Very friendly and welcoming folks. Good selection of taps with both craft and regular beer. We did not have any food. The atmosphere is very "pubish" and comfortable. Much nicer on the inside that the "drive-by" appearance. The owner and "beer guy" were very friendly and helpful and love to talk craft beer. My experience was less than stellar. To start- we didn't see a single employee for the first ten minutes we were in the building. To be fair- by the time someone returned from (what I would imagine to be) the kitchen, there was a small crowd waiting for food/drinks. Had they been around when we walked in, we wouldn't have had to wait for the group of 10 locals to get their drinks before we were greeted. After about 18 minutes we finally were approached, and had ordered our food. Our order was wrong, and we never got any refills on drinks. Finally when we had had enough waiting around to cash out, I decided to go up to the bar and ask to cash out. While at the bar, the duo working took priority in serving friends and bantering with each other (trying to determine who was the "better sister") before they could help any others. Finally, I got a chance to ask to be cashed out where I got to stand and witness our waitress trying to find my order that didn't exist on the iPad. After two minutes of watching her scroll up and down, her sister (the other bartender) proceeded to remind her that she left MY CREDIT CARD sitting on the bar and never put in our order properly. In addition, when I walked up to the bar my credit card was on display along with everyone else's, lined up above the cooler. This might be usual for the locals, but if you are traveling for work, save yourself the late night frustration and crappy bar food and drive a little further for McDonalds. read more

Seriously, this cannot be the first review for this place...I live in the area and came here for the first time tonight after the Mayweather/McGregor fight expecting to just have a drink before going home. But they had karaoke. There are only two bars on Naval right outside the gate, and this one is the preferred by far. It is cleaner, more social, and more fun by a landslide. Never go in here. Kitchen is filthy service during off hours is one person cooking serving and running bar. Something was floating in my beer (after he had served me but I had not drank any) he noticed it without asking me and with stealth he Scooped it out with a straw and insisted it was fine without showing me what the offending floater was. A beer tap system requires intensive cleaning and maintenance to keep it sanitary and is a more common source of food born illness than food itself. p.s. he also used a bar rag to wipe the side of my beer all the way to the top of the rim. He literally wrapped the 360 degrees and swabbed the entire surface and length all the way to the lip of glass. Then I I saw him wipe the drainage grate of the tap with it. Who knows how many people's drinks he used it in after or how many different surfaces. It's obviously crappy management because the employee in his between customers got on a laptop and cruised Facebook instead of spending some time in the kitchen cleaning the filth!!! On a positive note if you do have a beer order from a can. They have a big selection. Don't recommend pouring into a glass. read more
