My hubs and I went on an overnight trip from Seattle to Bellingham last week and after driving into town, we headed to Sirena for a treat. We were not disappointed. The gelato here is as fine as the best places we went to in Italy. I had the mango and mixed berry sorbetto (no dairy--yay!!) on a cone and it was so creamy, fluffy, smooth, and absolutely delicious. My hubs had the black cocoa and toasted pistachio which he loved. We both got the small with two flavors and the scoops were a good size. Friendly service including samples if you're unsure of what you want. Serving size is a little small for two scoops in a cup. Places to sit inside and outside. Got Madagascar vanilla and Stracciatella. Both were good and would have them again but hoping for a bit stronger scoops. Really happy to see they had compostable cups and wooden spoons- both of which are compostable and had a designated spot for them. Lack of strong scoops made it 4 stars but compostable materials brought it back up to 5. read more

What a find. Delicious and freshly made gelato. So creamy. Dark cacao. Pumpkin pie. I mean, they gelato is artfully displayed, and you could tell care went into each batch. This is one of those places that you could randomly just say, "just give me two flavors of anything." and I'm sure you will be happy with the results. Even on a chilly evening, you will be happy you came here. To indulge in gelato, or even have a hot chocolate or something. We went to Sirena Gelato to experience a Affogato...Gelato with Expresso poured over the top of it. It's a classic Italian after dinner dessert and served properly can be a luxurious indulgence. Overall, their gelato is excellent! Flavors vary whenever we come here which is great and the amount of gelato you get for the price is pretty substantial. I've never left disappointed with the taste of the gelato. I have left bothered with their customer service though. If you want to have the best gelato around, this is the place! We frequent the Kirkland location often and the Fairhaven store, where they started, is just as fabulous. Try any of the flavors and you won't be disappointed. Fruit flavors taste like just picked fruit, really true flavor. Pan Dulce is creamy and yummy Black Cocoa is very dense. They are located in downtown Fairhaven at the Southwest corner of Harris and 10th St. I tried the Turkish Hazelnut and Coconut Thai. Both tasted very good. For now, indoor seating is closed, but there are tables outside. The only reason I did not rate this place 5 stars is because I found the gelato to be slightly too heavy in cream for my taste. read more

A must go icecream place in Fairhaven. I visited this icecream place today (Family Day in BC), but it was a regular business day for the states, so the icecream place was not too busy. Maybe it is busier on weekends. The only server who worked there was very kind and friendly and always said thank you. I ordered a small icecream with two scoops at $4USD. That means I could choose two flavours. I had chosen roasted pistachio and Italian chocolate chip. The more I ate the more I was addicted to it!! The roasted pistachio added more texture and flavour to the icecream. Yum! Italian chocolate chip flavour was very good as well. The icecream was just smooth and milky and tasted about right. It was not too sweet. This place was a family owned restaurant, but they could make really good homemade icecream. Earnest Icecream is my favourite icecream place in Vancouver. Gelato on a cold day? Why not! I was in the area and was super excited to see a cute gelato shop! The clerk was super friendly and she let me try out a couple of flavors before making my ultimate decision! I got the coconut Thai, strawberry, stracciatella, and the pineapple. Overall, the flavors were decent and not bad for a tiny gelato store. I'm thinking next time I'll not get a large!! I was expecting a little better. All the flavors were very good until I tried the Amaretto...it was exquisite to say the least. I absolutely love the milkshakes they do with their gelato - they're super creamy and thick and well worth the price.
