We stayed in a Villa (#601) which was the first one we were put in. After lugging our luggage through an un-shoveled walkway, arriving to the villa and unpacking our bags - the fireplace was not working - nor would the door lock - after complaining to front desk - we were moved to Villa #605 - again un-shoveled walkway, un-shoveled stairs, we were happy that our door was able to be locked. We discovered the TV and fireplace were not working in this unit either - Not wanting to pack up & switch rooms again - we settled for a 10% discount on the room The hotel staff we dealt with were very polite - The resort is overpriced in its current condition - the villa's are severely outdated and in need of repair & updating - the carpets were worn, and looked dirty, window treatments were out of date and shabby looking - visible cracks down the wall in the bedroom - the patio door looked like termites had been eating it and allowed huge draft into the dining area of the villa We ate at the onsite restaurant on the Friday night - service staff were friendly - food was not great - ordered the fish and chips - the batter of the fish was so overcooked, difficult to cut even with knife - and some of the fish inside the batter was not even cooked! Definitely will not book here again -

This review is one of the most complicated reviews I ever wrote in my life . I decided though to…read morerate my experience based on each category so And hopefully to be more useful. I went with 3 Freind family for 2 nights and 3 days. Celebrating Eid Aladha . It took us around 3 hrs driving. Scenes nature were absolutely stunning! Check Inns : We were nicely welcomed and we get nice orientation. They have scheduled for daily activity were we enjoyed most with kids , ex fishing, hickin , art and craft , feed the rabbits etc Cabinets : Nice walking distance or by car to reach u shape cabinets. We had 3 bed rooms - queen size . The living area had 2 sofa as sofa bed . Kitchen were equipped with basics. AC on top of microwave- full appliances. In general, it is clean but verrrrrry old ! I would say 30 years if it is not more ! I brought all my bedding stuff , how ever their was fairly clean , ollld but clean ! Play area: At the middle of everything, your kids playing right on front of you . Lake side : Nice view, all inclusive water activity ( tubing, paddling, canoeing etc . You just have to register to borrow paddle or life jacket etc Bikes and woods were lovely available for free. Some bikes not really working other were fair good. We enjoyed our gathering and time, it is really lovely place for families with toddlers or big kids. For the easy supervision- all inclusive water activity , daily activity and woods to start your fire . I don't know if I would go again, but if you never mind old places and you would like to enjoy and see real Canada you should have a visit!

Outdated and run down…read more The food was delicious, we love the breakfast room service, but the cabin we stayed in needs some fixing. I wouldn't step on the front porch for fear I'd go thru. We had a terrible smell in the coffee bar area the first night, I'm sure it was a dead something, they took care of it right away! Charging extra for the in room coffee is very cheap! Come on!! The foot stool in our room has seen better days, it was FILTHY! There's old and there's need to be replaced, the patio chair covers are disgustingly dirty and old. I'm sure they're at-least 30 years old. Small details like updating visions and tub stoppers (brown and disintegrated) can go a long way. We had a private parking spot next to our cabin and STILL got charged parking fees. That's a bit ridiculous, for the price everyone pays there is plenty that should be included. Ice to get the park pass for free, we used it daily. I'm not sure I'd recommend to anyone, unless they got it as a gift.

Close range to Toronto, top tier snow machines, great runs…read more This is where I choose to frequent my winter snowboard season, as it's close enough for a 1.5 hour drive to get on the slopes. Their snow making machines are the top notch ones, they really spent a pretty penny for this and their investment shows since there's hardly ever any icy runs, mainly snowy ones. They're quick to start their snow machines early for the season to ensure they have a perfect snow base for the rest of the season - this is why they're always busy, because people know they have good runs here! Purchase your lift tickets online rather than in person, since it's about $15 cheaper even on the day of. The bonus here is the beaver tail cart at the base of Moonstone that you can get your sweet treat at at the end of the day.

Level up on these slopes!…read more MSLM or Mt St. Louis Moonstone is where our family learned to ski and while it's an intermediate level hill, it does have some of the best snow conditions in Ontario. That's because MSLM features 36 slopes down two adjacent mountains, with plenty of snowmaking equipment and lifts. On the one hand, the slopes here can get packed with passholders depending on the time of week. However the slopes are generally wide and there are plenty of easy black diamond slopes to work your way down. These sometimes get icy and choppy after a long day but the slopes are usually well-groomed and you might find yourself skiing through the snow gun mist. On the positive, there are plenty of lifts including Ontario's first 8-seater chairlift equipped with heated seats and automatic safety bars. They also have lift gate entry RFID scans and cafeteria checkout for efficiency. There are moguls and two terrain parks, including a smaller one for beginners. One slope is colourfully lit. While the experience here isn't that of a sprawling ski village, you can tell the owners prided in the pure European skiing spirit. In the past decade MSLM added night skiing with plenty of lighting on over 20 slopes and we've always enjoyed this experience perhaps even more so than day skiing here due to the slightly smaller crowd. Note there tends to be many ski instructors and many demographics on the slopes due to the reputation for good snow conditions as outdoor recreation has boomed. A day here costs around double that of entry ski resorts. Location-wise, it is conveniently off of Hwy 400. Skip it or hit it? We'll be back again as it's one of the better options in Ontario.

If you're looking for an entry slope, Snow Valley could be it…read more We visited for the first time in years and were pleasantly surprised by the small crowd. It's a smaller venue for skiing with 20 generally short slopes ranging from green to blacks, plus a tubing terrain. The chalet is small with a good number of attendees at the ticket booth, equipment shop and 2nd floor restaurant that serves up basic meal bites with a weeknight deal. Tickets are checked manually at the lifts. Many blue & black slopes themselves are relatively narrow with a few runs that are frequented into soft chopped snow. One of the hills was cordoned off for downhill racing while other slopes had minimal skiers & snowboarders heading down beside us. The lifts moved at a brisk pace although there is a triple-lift with tight seating and a tight off-ramp that was more suited for doubles to avoid tripping. The level of difficulty on the black diamond slopes was low. There is also a freestyle terrain park with jumps on the east side beside the tubing terrain, and a patch of mogul bumps on a west side slope. Overall the resort is oriented towards beginners as a short 1 hr GTA drive near Barrie. Skip it or hit it? On the one hand I was intrigued by the short narrow slopes, on the other there are more challenging and better ski facilities a little further away. Not sure how often we'd come back.

I went in to redeem a 2 for 1 ticket from the ski and snowboard show a few months back. What's nice to see is the conveyor belt with their main base lift which moves the crowds fast. It's been a long time since I tried the other chair lifts and I hardly remember how fast they have the speed set here so you have minimal wait time- not that I had any competition because there were only 30 or so other patrons. The sad part about this place is the food- they used to have a burger made from scratch- not anymore so the patties seem to be just vanilla. The chalet / restaurant is cute log style with fire place so if you're abandoning any family it's a bit tolerable.

Our recent stay at Friday Harbour was unfortunately very disappointing. We stayed in the Beech unit…read moreand booked directly on their website. From the moment we arrived, the experience was frustrating. The unit was difficult to locate, making check-in more stressful than it should have been. One of the biggest disappointments was the pool policy. Guests are limited to one two-hour pool session per day, and when the pool was closed during our scheduled time, there was no alternative booking, compensation, or accommodation offered. The unit itself was not properly equipped for the number of guests we booked. We reserved the unit for three people, but there was only enough dishware for two, and the pull-out couch didn't have a duvet or extra blankets, making it uncomfortable for the third guest. To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi did not work for our entire stay. We contacted the Welcome Centre in the morning and were told someone would come to assist, but the issue was never resolved. When we reached out again about the missing bedding and other concerns, we were told these were the responsibility of the unit owner and that the Welcome Centre could not help. Since we booked through Friday Harbour, we expected better support regardless of who owned the unit. Please keep in mind, if it rains, there is essentially nothing to do on the property. After we explained our various frustrations to customer service, we were fortunately refunded 50% of our stay, which helped. Overall, the lack of communication, unresolved issues, and poor customer service made this stay far below our expectations. While Friday Harbour is a beautiful property, our experience was overshadowed by these problems. We hope management improves both guest support and quality control so future visitors have a much better experience.
