The 8 people heated lifts and short line ups

Nice friendly family run snowhill, location is excellent and on snow belt. Nice mix of beginner and intemediate slopes. Nice new fast lift with heated seats :)

Long over due review here for MSL-MS. Haha! Although we went there months ago, still remember the cool runs, the hot BeaverTails, and the nice environment over there. It's truly a good place for families and friends get together for awesome winter sports. Night skiing prices were surprisingly great! Hope they can keep up with the good value for this coming winter. It was enjoyable and will definitely go back next season!

We came the other day with pre-purchased day passes (currently $85 plus ~$4 for a RFID pass). There's a couple of tents where employees check proof of vaccination before giving out wristbands. They then direct you towards the chalet where there's a few machines to get your pass from. The QR code from your confirmation email gets scanned and your RFID lift ticket is printed. Masks are required while waiting in line for the chairlift and on it as well as while indoors in the chalet. On the ground floor of the chalet is the washrooms, lockers (not currently available) and rentals. Right outside there's also a row of porta-potties for those that don't want to go inside the chalet. The cafeteria is open on the second floor but seating is not available. It's a really basic menu in the cafeteria and on the pricey side, which I guess is to be expected. Condiments, napkins, utensils are after payment and before exiting the building. In the parking lot we saw that one family had brought a small portable bbq and were grilling hotdogs from the back of their pickup truck. I haven't skied in several years and having a RFID lift ticket was new to me. Just prior to getting on a chairlift the RFID pass is read by an electronic scanner for the gate to open. The lift ticket will scan from inside a pocket but shouldn't be placed with other cards such as credit cards. There was a conveyor belt after the gate which was new to me as well. We used two chairlifts and the snow was definitely more powdery from Summit Six Express Lift versus Sundance Quad Lift. It could be the higher elevation. For the most part there was also an employee directing skiers and snowboarders into groups of six for maximum efficiency on the Summit Six Express Lift. From my experience when getting off the six person chairlifts it's best to go straight and not turn in order to prevent getting tangled up with another skier/snowboarder also getting off the chairlift. The lines for the chairlifts moved quickly and there weren't that many skiers/snowboarders on the slopes either. Even though it was a pretty cold yesterday (~16C) when we went we only started to get cold when the sun started setting.

We got a season pass to St. Louis - Moonstone this year and, despite warm weather, were able to ski almost every weekend. The resort is usually very crowded on weekends, but not as bad as Blue Mountain. Plus their snowmaking is certainly better, I was told they have the best snowmaking machines in Ontario. Yet, for the small hill (former garbage dump), the prices they charge are very high, the day passes at top skiing resorts in Colorado or Vermont are lower than what they charge here - we were in Snowmass, CO last year and paid less per day. Anyway, being 1hr away from Toronto, this resort has virtually no competition, so they can charge whatever prices they want :(

It was my first time to Mount St. Louis in a very long time. I got a day pass here for a Sunday. You can place an order online through their store for your pass. You do have to sign up for an account and this will involve uploading a picture of yourself. You also have to ensure that you select the right date for your pass as they are non-refundable. Once you get to the hills, you have to show proof of vaccination to enter. They will give you a wristband that will prove your vaccination status so you can enter and leave the grounds. The next thing to do is pick up your lift ticket which now comes in RFID card form! You just scan the QR code you got in the email from our ticket order and it prints out a card with your name on it. You have to tap this ticket at the chair lift gates to be let through onto the lifts. There are trail maps at the top of the chair lift and there was one in between the closest chair lifts to the entrances. The lifts are 4 and 6 person lifts. The 6 person lifts tend to go a little bit faster than the 4 person ones. At the 6 person lifts they were frequently opening and closing the different lines that fed into it depending on how many people were waiting. There was also a single rider line that people were able to go into. It just seemed like a lot of people using this line used this to skip the bigger line yet still sit together as group. There wasn't really anyway to deal with this even though they had a dedicated "lifty" that was directing traffic. The chalet was not open for warming up. You could only go inside to use the restrooms, lockers, and to buy food. The cafeteria had a capacity line outside and an employee was handing out surgical masks to anyone that didn't have one. Speaking of masks, we did call ahead to ask if a mask had to be worn at all times. The representative that we reached informed us that you had to wear a surgical mask and any neckwarmers, scarves, balaclavas, etc would not suffice. When we got there we saw that there were a lot of people without a mask however. The snow quality was surprisingly not as good as I thought it'd be after the giant snow that we had in the Toronto area. There were some really icy parts on the hills. Some other notes. There is a small shop in the chalet if you are missing or forgot any of your gear. The employees that we dealt with all seemed pretty helpful. We were dealing with an issue with my friend's snowboarding bindings being messed up after a collision. We spoke with the employee at the top of the chair lift who said he'd be happy to call someone to come bring her back down if needed. My other friend dropped her lift ticket during the chaos of the line and when she went to inquire, they had picked it up and returned it to her without any hassle.

The cross country race that I did was amazing I got please 53 out of 120 and it has amazing snow quality is the best place for skiing recommended

One of the best ski hills near Toronto for Intermediate-Advanced skiers/boarders (yes yes ik the options are few and the bar is low). Why it's awesome: - decent vertical for the area - good selection of terrain parks (beginner-advanced) - great snowmaking capabilities and good grooming - healthy variety of runs - modern, fast, high-cap lifts - convenient RFID "tickets" and season (podium) passes can be picked up at self-serve kiosks for a seamless experience - short drive (1-1.5 hrs) from the city My only gripes are with the lack of overnight accommodations (it's not a ski resort) and the few unpleasant experiences with staff, but I'd say most are professional and friendly. MSLM is obviously not comparable to world-class resorts in terms of size and amenities, but it's one of the most popular ski hills in the area for day trips and for good reasons! P.S. if you're a beginner, you probably won't be able to take advantage of most of the runs and park features, just head to a local ski hill - better bang for the buck IMO.

So I decided to give Mount Saint Louise another try. In October of 2020 during a pandemic, ski hills at the time, seemed to be a safe work out recreation outdoor. Mount Saint Louise Moonstone appeared to be making a solid step forward to making a safe place for recreation, so despite the sour finish with Mount Saint Louise Moonstone in 2019/2020 season, it's only fair to give it another try. This time I thought a season pass would be a good way to go forward because it allows the operation to make a lump sum upfront and with a lot of covid policies to track the population size it seemed a good way to go. The ski hill made a number of changes to their operation like contactless access by rfid scanning and closing off cafeterias to reduce virus transmission, with exception to washrooms that are indoor (btw Blue Mountain has a more outdoor washroom with a trailer setup if you prefer non indoor access). So I bought the Bronze level podium pass along with a newbie I was skiing with. Along with the pass purchase, the mountain offered insurance policies that if they were lockdown for more than 14 days you could get a significant refund or if you suddenly fell sick due to covid. But with insurance policies one must always read the fine print. I did not opt for it. Note during this time they were selling passes in tiered offerings with gradual inflation on the pass. I missed the first tier while "deciding" and paid an inflated cost around $250for the pass. Dec 21, 2020 the lockdown happened forcing closure on all non essential operation. I personally do not think ski hills should have been included in the non essential as it is outdoor but there is always a risk of congregating people and that is the fundamental of non essential closure. With that, Mount Saint Louise Moonstone offered two options 1. Get 100% refund and email your request before Jan 1, 2021 or 2. Take a gamble hold your pass and get 30% the next season. There was an admin tariff added on as well for the rfid pass. The later option really was quite a gamble as lockdowns extended well into February leaving only one month of viable slushy conditions to ski if it reopened. I opted for the first and considering the generosity to full refund and the already investment in ski gear I was pretty set to return to them next year. During this time, while they were supposed to have nigh skiing open before the lockdown they immediately cancelled it and only offered day skiing for podium pass holders silver and gold -so really bronze pass holders were not really valued; I'm still not sure why they would do a VIP event and restrict some pass holders. After so many emails, I received a refund on Jan 20, 2021. Rather than the 100% refund promise I only received 70%. I saw the email and thought THIS HAS TO BE A MISTAKE! So I emailed on January 26, 2021 and really just got an auto email that they were really busy and to be patient. I did see on their website they changed their refund policy without much notice that was very different with a 100% refund for no use, 70% refund for 1-3 uses and 40% for 4 or more (or something along those lines). The funny thing is they never emailed me they just posted it. The other kicker is that I only used my pass for 1hr and for that 1hr of skiing I am paying about $80 which is pretty tragic. I suspect their refund schedule was all based on the rfid access information and basically finding the balance where they could recoup the most cost. Is it really their fault? Not really the provincial lockdown was pretty much forced on every operation that fell into non essential. I just think wih communication there could have been a better way to resolve this and if they communicated with the loyal pass holders I think that it could still have them running out winning with repeat returning customers who want to help the operation stay afloat. The operation could have also honoured their refund and simply offer an option to prepay for 2021/22 ski season to capture some of the cost and essentially spread their loss over multi-year. If they offered that I am pretty sure there are some loyal skiers who would be willing to prepay on a gift card term simply because this pandemic has been a time to reflect on how we can help each other. I have reached out to Mount Saint Louise Moonstone, because I have some new accessories to use and I have a newbie to train up. I hope things can be fixed and look forward to updating on this outcome.

Nothing beats the first trip of the season up north for snowboarding. Last season was absolute crap and we lost an entire season due to warmer weather conditions (good for some but not for others). As my buddy and I pulled into the parking lot we reminisced about past experiences here and how much we really do enjoy this spot compared to others. Reasons being, the two other most popular and closest ski resorts we frequent are Horseshoe and Blue. Horseshoe for lack of a better word is fairly dull. The runs at Horseshoe are "run down" and they don't seem to have the budget to operate this place in any sort of competitive fashion. While Blue Mountain may be the premiere ski resort in Ontario it is too far away for a last minute plan to hit the slopes. Mount St Louis is like baby bear's chair, bed and porridge from the story of Goldilocks - Jusssssstttt right!. It's not too close so that it isn't too warm and not too far that it's a mission to drive to. The resort isn't ghetto BUT it isn't the village @ Blue. It's perfect for a day trip! Prices are reasonable for a day pass ($45), however the season pass is still a bit of a rip off. I've been boarding regularly for the better part of a decade and can say when it comes to Ontario hills I know my slopes. Mount St Louis is also never flooded with people and the hills are groomed regularly. My one bugaboo about this place is the fact that a day in the snow here ends @ 4:30pm, meaning they do not offer night boarding. Lame! With all the money they've invested in this place (like larger runs, more sophisticated snow making guns and an expanded freestyle park) you think they'd toss up some flood lights. Ah well C'est La Vie. My go to spot for fun in the snow!

Best Terrain Park on the East coast. Solid family style resort, nothing but good vibes and good people here.

BEST SNOWBOARDING PARK IN ONTARIO! BEST CHAIR LIFTS IN ONTARIO! BEST SKI SCHOOL IN ONTARIO! BEST SNOW GROOMING and MAINTENANCE STAFF IN ONTARIO! Suitable for all skill types. they have hills to please anybody. For Ontario Skiing... you will not find better this close to home! They have two very large chalets to get lunch in. They are liquor licensed. They have some great food options. *The food is not healthy: so if your looking for a healthy day out of exercise: bring your own food!

It was a fun way to start 2026! We booked a deluxe room, which had a sunken sitting area with an electric fireplace and a snowy view. It was nice to have the extra space. We had our meals at the Crazy Horse Sports Bar & Grill (across the street from the Inn) and Eleven 01 (in the inn building). We celebrated New Years Eve at the Crazy Horse where there was a live band, which was fun. There is lots to do. We're not skiers or snowboarders but there were many there who were so it was fun to watch. Entry to the trails at the Nordic Centre across the street is complimentary for snowshoers and bikers staying at the resort. We brought our snowshoes but since it's been a few years since we'd done it, we snowshoed around the resort's deep deep snow to get back into the groove. There is snow tubing but tickets were sold out for the time slots we wanted. We spent time in the games room playing ping pong and in the hot tub and pool (really busy with lots of families). Parking is an issue ... there doesn't seem to be enough spots and people were parking on the street. We managed to get a spot near another building after driving around a bit. The entrance at the inn could be configured better. In theory, you drive in, park and check in, drive around in a circle and head back out the way you came in. When we checked out this morning, many others were too. Gord couldn't drive around the circle after we loaded up the car because it was packed with cars. Plus it was snowy and icy. He had to back out, which was nerve wracking! It also meant cars pulling in couldn't ... they had to back up so he could get out. A better route would be to have the driveway go right onto the street near the inn's entrance rather than making people drive around in a circle to get out the way they came in.

It's a smaller venue for skiing with 20 generally short slopes ranging from green to blacks, plus a tubing terrain. The chalet is small with a good number of attendees at the ticket booth, equipment shop and 2nd floor restaurant that serves up basic meal bites with a weeknight deal. Tickets are checked manually at the lifts. Many blue & black slopes themselves are relatively narrow with a few runs that are frequented into soft chopped snow. One of the hills was cordoned off for downhill racing while other slopes had minimal skiers & snowboarders heading down beside us. The lifts moved at a brisk pace although there is a triple-lift with tight seating and a tight off-ramp that was more suited for doubles to avoid tripping. The level of difficulty on the black diamond slopes was low. There is also a freestyle terrain park with jumps on the east side beside the tubing terrain, and a patch of mogul bumps on a west side slope. Overall the resort is oriented towards beginners as a short 1 hr GTA drive near Barrie. Skip it or hit it? On the one hand I was intrigued by the short narrow slopes, on the other there are more challenging and better ski facilities a little further away. Not sure how often we'd come back.

I went in to redeem a 2 for 1 ticket from the ski and snowboard show a few months back. What's nice to see is the conveyor belt with their main base lift which moves the crowds fast. It's been a long time since I tried the other chair lifts and I hardly remember how fast they have the speed set here so you have minimal wait time- not that I had any competition because there were only 30 or so other patrons. The sad part about this place is the food- they used to have a burger made from scratch- not anymore so the patties seem to be just vanilla. The chalet / restaurant is cute log style with fire place so if you're abandoning any family it's a bit tolerable.

So unless someone is managing patrons with their new configuration of bars to restrict 3 and 3 on each side, you could be idle. Staff are put in place but they don't help manage people traffic and without a guide to their not so self explanatory setup- people just jam their bodies in and hope for the best then when their entering with people they don't want to be paired with just "step back " result in under capacity. The hills are just overrun that by 11-12noon the hills are all nice and operators don't legroom until 3:30pm. The food discount are not consistent, for example the Pottery has select deals that does not apply the ikon food discount. Some outdoor seats are not safe, sat next to the Roots and Tim Hortons, ice fell on the guy next to me, thank goodness he was wearing a ski helmet- things like this can be better managed from a safety standpoint because every visit usually yields $25-100 in food purchase and is usually associated with a 100km drive and a hotel booking within Collingwood or the Blue Mountain village. Personally for me, every visit cost me about $170-200 in hotel booking, a $30-40 purchase at one of the Blue Mountain establishments and dinner around $50 offsite. And I usually visit with 2-3 other prepaid patrons. Personally I think Blue Mountain can do better to serve the prepaid patrons.

Compared to a smaller hill like Snow Valley, the Greens were like blues almost blacks in some cases and the Blues were Blacks on the smaller hill. They were quite steep and challenging. if that's what you're looking for great! One of the runs called Southern Cross is classified as a Green but it should be a Blue in my opinion. being narrow and off a cliff it's difficult to maneuver. We were there during New Years weekend and it was pretty crowded. I get that but the lifts stopped way too often. I also noticed no signage to inform people how to get on or off which might be some of the issue. Like unloading arrows etc. There are 2 chalets and they are placed a bit far from the ski lift. It's difficult to get to. The food was ample and pretty good but very over priced. $4 for a bag of chips? RIDGE RUNNER We bought a 3 pack of activities to do. You have to do them all in one day which is a bit silly. It's difficult to understand the offer on the website. . Went on Ridge Runner after waiting 1.5 hr in a line of only about 20 parties. It was a bit ridiculous. Again seemingly cause by people who didn't know what they were getting on needs a more efficient loading and in loading process. Worse off was that it's meant to be a fast coast in the mountains, and told not to stop or slow down, however the people in front of us stopped and slowed down the entire day making the experience worthless. SKATING This is at the top of the mountain. You have to drive there. There's no indoor shelter from the wind to change into your stuff. Before you even get on the ice you are frozen. There is a fire but it doesn't do much because of the wind. There are some bins to put your stuff but it's very icy in the staging area. My friend fell and broke his wrist. They need to add some safety mats to this area. Overall, I did not have the sense of safety or that staff cared about guest safety and guest experience.

We shared the largest room, the Green Room, that has 1 double and 1 queen bed, plus a full en suite bathroom and went skiing the next morning. They have really nice gas fireplaces in every room to heat the house and a full kitchen and dining table for guest use. The owners live in another house on the other side of the drive-way, so it's very private, and you don't have to worry about disturbing them with a late-night meal, which is exactly what we had went we got there. It's like having all the conveniences of renting a house at a very reasonable rate for one room. The most unbelievable part of our stay was the breakfast we were served in the morning. I know 'breakfast' is in the name but I actually wasn't expecting anything. At other B&Bs I've stayed at in Europe I just expect toast, maybe a croissant and to be offered a boiled egg. What we got was a 3 course meal complete with fresh baked heart-shaped(!) muffins, home-made jam, fruit, pancakes, maple syrup, OJ, coffee, and so on. To say it was a nice pleasant surprise is an understatement! The meal totally blew me away. I wish I had warned Bill, the owner, that my partner and I are vegan. We had brought our own veggie breakfast goodies in anticipation of making our own but it all worked out nicely. We were able to have our goods on the side while our friends enjoyed their animal products. This is a lovely B&B and I would happily return. We really enjoyed our stay. We also took a look through their photo albums of weddings and other events that host in their barn. It looks like everyone who stays here loves it too. I imagine it's just as nice in the summer as it is winter.

I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DO NOT HOLD ANY EVENT AT LAZY DAYZ!!!…read moreMy family held a wedding there and we have never been treated so terribly before! The property manager Kate is the worst person in customer service ever! She picked fights with most of our guest and it was the on going talk for the entire event. Everyone was appalled with her behavior! She was rude and told us she had ever right to treat us this rudely because she was stressed. When the event was booked it was owned by other people who were wonderful and it is such a shame that they have sold the business to her. The barn and grounds are beautiful, but you can find another place just as beautiful where you won't be treated so horribly! I am still in shock with her attitude. I can not stress enough - STAY AWAY!!!
