Our initial contact with Sir Oliver's owner, Richard and his office staff was excellent and this gave us the confidence to book Sir Oliver to handle the transportation for our daughters wedding. However, what occurred on the big day proved awful.
Firstly, it snowed the day before the wedding so my wife called Sr Oliver to order a runner for use after the guests arrived the church so that our daughters dress would remain clean. The owner gave my wife such resistance. So much so that we had to call back and insist!
Next, the driver they sent us looked as if he just finished cleaning out his garage. He was so unprofessional in his appearance that It cheapened the whole experience.
But that was only the beginning.
Earlier our florist had arrived with the bridesmaids' bouquets. The flowers were all sitting upright in empty mason jars and placed in a Tupperware case for transport. In preparation for our departure, I decided to bring them out to the limo. I was in my tux, walked out to the limo carrying this container holding eight plus bouquets of flowers and the driver did absolutely nothing to assist me. He didn't even open the door! He just got out of the car and stood there and watched me.
Later, when we arrived at the reception venue for "first look" photos, we all entered the building. It didn't occur to me to carry the container holding the flowers inside. Apparently, our driver did take it upon himself to carry the flowers into the venue but immediately and loudly began to complain as to why the bridal attendant didn't come get the flowers from the car. This container of flowers must have proved just too much for him!!
Next and worst of all, after the wedding ceremony, the immediate family stayed back in the church for family photos with the bride and groom. A few minutes into it the driver began hounding everyone; the bride, the groom, myself and my wife, informing us all that our contracted time was soon running out and that we would then only get a 15 minute grace period. ...And I mean continuously...tapping his wrist watch with his finger...very unnerving and unprofessional! We told him more than once not to worry and that we will take care of any overtime.
The driver was asked to take the bride and groom on to the venue...( a few doors down the road) and then to return to transport the balance of us (which included both the bride and grooms parents among others.
He never came back!
While the cocktail hour was beginning...we had to first find alternate transportation to the reception. This was so upsetting on our children's wedding day. (...and the flower girl and ring bearer were both so disappointed about not getting to ride in a limousine.)
Lastly, a few days later when I phoned Richard, the owner, he told me he was surprised and that our driver was one of his best guys. I was shocked.
During my phone call, all I got from the owner was nothing more than a weak apology and a list of excuses on behalf of his driver.
My recommendation for anyone contemplating using this company is to research another option. I think it was the owner's response that is most telling.
I travel weekly on business and take limousines back and forth to the airport. I use Aquarius Limo among others. Unfortunately they do not have a fleet of limos for weddings or else I'd use them in a heartbeat. read more
